With tropical gardens, bloom-framed pools and a tranquil spa, the Barcelo Asia Garden Hotel & Thai Spa offers a taste of the Orient.
Coral-coloured buildings, Babylon-esque hanging gardens, and koi ponds spotted with lily pads make this place feel like it’s been lifted from the Far East. Rooms are dressed in Japanese-style neutral tones, and even come with kimonos.
The property is set at the foot of the Sierra de Cortina mountains, and its hillside position offers widescreen views of the ocean. When you want to explore, the nearest beaches are a half-hour walk, or a short cab ride, away.

A good experince!
A beautiful hotel and surroundings. Good service and quality but they need to step it up in the menu and quality of the food. I also hope that they have corrected the birds and ants problem in the restaurant where breakfast buffet is served. Nothing critical not to go back.More

A little tropical heaven
Great work of turning a dry plot to a beautiful piece of tropical land. We felt like being in an Asian country. You would notice the difference as soon as you come out of the hotel premise. Beautiful gardens, pools and decor, wonderful staff and service. My family had wonderful time, my wife enjoyed every second of our stay, and loved all the services in the spa. Our 10 months old child as well had a great time. Menu for kids(especially babies) need attention, not much to choose. Luckily we brought special food for her. A big thanks to all the staff for looking after us throughout our stay!!More
Just 10 out of 10
Just an incredible hotel. I think it's one of the best hotels I've ever been. We came with just friends but it's a hotel for everyone (my kids will love it!). Rooms are quite spacious and very confortable , staff is on top of every little matter, very competent and friendly. Breakfast buffet is great, with lots of variety, food quality is excellent. Thai Spa is also a plus! I recommend it 100%. I will repeat for sure.More
Me and my husband stayed here for one week for our honeymoon and we honestly had the most perfect stay. On learning we were on our honeymoon they sent a bottle of champagne on ice up to our room which we weren't expecting. We also got upgraded on arrival to having our own private garden which was beautiful. The location of this resort is close to things nearby but you really feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. I loved that the hotel seemed to be occupied with about 95% Spanish families and couples as I don't like staying in any hotel that is British dominated it puts me off and makes me feel like I'm not on holiday. The bed was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in in my life and was so huge! The bathroom area was spacious and we loved the his and hers sinks. The cleanliness of the hotel was spot on perfect. We found the staff to also be extremely helpful and very friendly and we would love to return to this hotel in the future. We were a little concerned about paying €96 for two of us to eat in the buffet but it is worth it as it is five times the quality of what you would get in a normal hotel and after the first night we gladly paid it night after night apart from the night we dined at the in black restaurant which also served amazing. There is so much choice at the buffet as well it is well worth the money. Amazing views everywhere especially around the bars at night. The pools were so incredible and surprisingly peaceful. Being in the infinity pools with all the surrounding views was heavenly. We really felt like we were in paradise here, thank you for an amazing stay.More
Excellent family facilities
I am very fond of the hotels in the Barcelo group and this one has been on the hit list for some time. It is one of the more expensive hotels in the group, being one of the Royal Hideaway Hotels, so I was expecting something very special. We were restricted to one specific week that we could travel and I was aware that we would be travelling in the height of the summer season, so my main concern was about finding somewhere that had good facilities for my 8 year old daughter, but at the same time some peace and quiet and a bit of luxury for my husband and I. I really didn't want somewhere where you spend the week fighting to get served at the bars and restaurants, and ending up with the last sunbeds in the complex. We got exactly what we wanted at the Aisa Gardens. The whole place is very clean and luxurious and you are made to feel like a VIP guest from the moment you arrive. Everyone makes an effort to make you feel important and special. The rooms are beautiful and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The pools are probably the best I have seen in any hotel. One of the things I particularly liked is that the area round the pool (and the pool itself) is split level. This means that there is no one single open space for sunbeds but instead there are lots of smaller spaces giving a greater degree of privacy and a sense of quiet. The sunbeds were also very comfy and there was a large area of the pool that was 1 meter in depth meaning that my 8 year old, who isn't the greatest swimmer, could safely play in the pool without me worrying too much. The thing I need to highlight in particular, because it didn't really come across in some of the other reviews, is the standard of the mini club/kids club, as this is by far the best I have come across. Basically, the mini club is a childcare facility whereby you can drop your kids off and not worry about their safety. The facility itself is very safe and the staff take their jobs very seriously. A child cannot leave the place without the parents picking them up or the staff first contacting the parents. On one occasion, my daughter wanted to get her swim suit from me for an activity they were doing so one of the staff, along with the hotel manager, walked with her around the complex until she found me, and then waited to walk her back. Normally my daughter can take or leave the kids clubs, but she literally couldn't wait to get there each day. Some of the other reviews do mention that the kids club is very Spanish orientated which is true, as the majority of guests are Spanish, but this didn't deter my daughter one bit and all of the staff can speak at least a little bit of English with some speaking very good English. The facility was open 11:00 - 13:00, 15:00- 19:00 and then 20:00 - 23:00. The children had the option of eating together in the evening leaving the parents to dine together. I didn't take my daughter on holiday to palm her off onto the kids club staff but she was more interested in spending time with them than with us. One of the activities involved a massive inflatable water slide which was put up in the garden of the kids club and another was rehearsing a Peter Pan show throughout the week which was then performed by the children and staff at the end of the week. My daughter absolutely loved it, so much so that she was crying her eyes out when we left and I had to promise her we could return. The hotel have clearly recognised that if they take good care of the children, the parents will enjoy their holiday too and this was certainly the case. I'm not sure whether the opening times and activities remain the same throughout the year but I am sure the child friendly ethos of the hotel will be consistent. My only slight negative is that I found the in-hotel prices quite steep. It is an expensive hotel to begin with and I guess the guests tend to be those who can afford a little extra but regardless of what you can afford, you shouldn't be expected to pay above the odds. I normally like to have a massage whilst on holiday but the cheapest one was 106 euro and I just could't justify it. Similarly paying 4.50 euro for a can of coke is simply unfair. However, we did have a hotel credit applied to our bill for booking through Barcelo which softened the blow a little. Would it stop me staying here again? No it wouldn't, but it was a niggle all the same. We will be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone, but if you are a family with young children, and you are looking for a holiday where you can relax and enjoy yourself with the kids safely looked after and having fun, then I would definitely recommend it.More
