Hotel Mas Salvi

Standing within seven hectares of its own woods and gardens, Mas Salvi is a tranquil, rural retreat. This luxury hotel is located just outside the medieval hilltop village of Pals, and a five minute drive from the stunning Baix Emporda coastline with its many sandy coves and lovely seaside villages.
A charmingly restored 17th-century manor house, the main hall is exceptionally grand, yet wonderfully welcoming with its arched ceilings. Six senior suites are situated in the manor house and have large terraces. The sixteen junior suites are located in a newly built house opposite the original masia with private terraces which open directly onto the gardens. The rooms all exhibit the gracious charm and elegant proportions of the original masia, and guarantee comfort and privacy. The restaurant offers excellent regional cuisine using seasonal and market ingredients, prepared by esteemed chef Enrique Valenti.
For those who simply wish to relax in the serenity of this setting the hotel has a swimming pool surrounded by well-tended lawns in front of the main house. The extension to the tower contains an indoor pool and a whirlpool bath. For the more energetic there's a tennis court and mountain bikes available for hire, whilst horse-riding, scuba-diving and other watersports can be arranged locally. There are also three golf courses within a five-minute drive, where Mas Salvi guests receive preferential treatment.

This magical region is also a walker's paradise, with sundappled trails that lead off towards snowdusted mountains and ancient hilltop hamlets.
Further afield there's plenty for the curious traveller to discover, not least the Dali Musuem in Figueres near Barcelona and the Greco-Roman archaeological remains of Empuries.
