This 18th-century colonial quinta nestles in Funchal's hills, overlooking the terracotta roofs of the town and out to the shimmering bay. The botanical gardens, including a tranquil lake, harbour rare species of flora and hiding amongst the mango trees you will discover the tropical oasis of the pool area – a peaceful paradise.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or first class gourmet cuisine, there is more than enough to tempt you at this elegant hotel. Take the buffet breakfast in 'The Pink Room' and admire the views to the gardens and veranda, or sample traditional Madeiran cuisine in first class 'The Beresford'.
