This beautifully converted farmhouse balances the old and new. Original feeding troughs decorate the large living room, antique furniture dresses the bedrooms, and a pool graces the gardens. Although Villa A Quinta is a real rural retreat set in the heart of peaceful countryside, the market town of Loule is only a 10-minute drive away.
Taking pride of place outside is a freeform swimming pool with Roman steps. Above the curving edge lie borders overflowing with brightly flowering plants and herbs. Quarteira Beach is less than a half-hour drive away. The wide, calm waters are particularly family-friendly, and there's a free car park on hand.
Al fresco meals are all taken care of with the built-in barbecue and covered dining area. Inside, the farmhouse-style kitchen is home to a family-sized dining table. Read more ››

All ended well
After a week spent in the most amazing villa we arrived in the evening at Quinto do Mar La Luz with a warm welcome. We were kindly escorted to our room, a 1 bed apt, and were disappointed, we expected rustic, but we did not expect small and out of date, perhaps we had been spoiled by the villa back in Guia?? On complaining we were the following morning offered a new room, which after some initial confusion, as it seemed to have been offered to someone else, eventually settled. Better room, better outdoor space we were happy!! Breakfast is as many have mentioned amazing, with a very wide selection of both hot and cold food. A little frustrating at times as one day we waited too long for a table for 3 when there were 5 tables for 4 available and no queue. The grounds are lovely, well kept and nurtured, pool areas are spotless and rooms are cleaned with fresh towels daily ( except Sunday- but not an issue) there are loads of nationalities which was spot on as we do not like the English only environment! I would say the thing that makes this place above it's quaintness is without doubt the staff. Polite, courteous an caring at all times. Would we return, yes definitely!More
For us the choice of this place was purley strategical due to it´s good location. We wanted to do some coastal hikes in the area and therefore this hotel was perfectly situated. Also for the evenings we could go either to Lagos or to Burgau by car to relax after our hikes. Now the hotel itself was fine although at the time we were there, the main cutomers of the hotel were group travellers, old couples, and families. We were sticking out a bit as a young couple in hikers clothes. Nevertheless we had an excellent stay, We received a room in one off the houses at the border of the estate which was suiting us perfectly, as we just wanted quietness and relaxation. The room was big enough, and well accomodated. The bathroom was excellent, being clean and spatious. And we had a nice balcony, which was a perfect reading spot. The only thing I didn´t like was the smell of bleach at the entrance of the room. Luckily it was only at the entrance and not in the complete room. The breakfast was excellent with a great amount of choices between local and continental products. A car is a must if you want to stay here. Overal a really recommandable place to stayMore
Beautiful resort with great views
Quite a big resort with many small apartments, but as it is divided into to small groups you don't feel it. We were lucky to have a place with an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean. The small terrace was great and had good shelter for the wind we had the whole week. The pools are not that big, but still nice and clean. Only one day we had trouble finding a sun bed, the rest of days there were plenty of sun beds available. The breakfast is really great and the staff is really nice and helpful. Beds though were really hard and uncomfortable with the sheets directly on top of the mattress without any protection in between. I find this a bit unhygienic. Cleaning was okay, but still puzzled that we could cook, but there was no sponge to do the dishes, and the cleaning lady would not do them for you. This is fine if only we had the remedies to do the dishes ourselves. Also missing a dish cloth to wipe the table, especially as we had two days without cleaning. Make sure to walk from the hotel to Burgau going on the cliff the whole way. This walk is absolutely amazing. Wifi is only available in the reception and there it is very very slow. But then you are forced to relax, which is not that bad. You can also do your laundry if neccessary. More
A peaceful haven
This is a quiet resort with lovely views and good sized rooms. There are several types of accommodation depending on what you need. We only had a room with fridge and coffee making facilities but there were rooms with cooking facilities etc. There were 3 pools and we used the largest of the 3, there were no children at that pool on any of the occasions we were there so it was always very relaxing and peaceful. The staff were lovely, always smiling and helpful and the breakfast ( included in the booking I made) was excellent. There was lots of choice and dishes were constantly replenished throughout the morning - fresh fruit, hot dishes, hams, cheeses, cereals, different types of breads and A huge assortment of pastries and cakes. Our room was on the first floor, it had a large sunny balcony and was very quiet. The resort is between Luz & Burgau and both could be reached via cliff top walks or very quickly by car. Both had a great choice of restaurants. There are many lovely beaches in the area and many other places are easily accessed by car - Lagos, Sagres, Aljezur for example. We've been home a day and I'm missing the beautiful light and peacefulness of the Western Algarve.More
Lovely studio lovely gardens
We booked for a studio apartment which are in a Portuguese style and have there own little garden we was in 612 which had a garden also at the side with sun loungers and a swing hammock which was good for having a quiet read! The front little garden/patio area was surrounded by bushes to make it private with a sun lounger, patio table and chairs with an umbrella couldn't ask for more! The inside- kitchen area was a sink with unit with all pots you need a table and chairs and a fridge and coffee machine/toaster not much work space tho! I thought a kettle and microwave was also provided in the room which when I asked they brought these round first thing in the morning (we had arrived late at night) they looked brand new! On arrival they also gave us a large bottle of water. I also asked for extra pillows which they also sent straight away I cannot fault the staff they was so helpful and friendly so a big thank you to you all ! Wifi is only at reception area. I would say you need a car though as your a bit out the way. There is a coastal walk either way to burgau and Luz but never did this we did walk down to the cliffs which had lovely views. The complex has three pools the largest (in the photo of the hotel) is at the top of the site we didn't use this pool as it always looked busy but the other two pools I did use for my early morning swims and no one was ever there - this opens at 8! They all have lots of Sun loungers around the pools There is also a small gym on site with cross trainer , bikes and weights and mats, etc with showers and towels only ever saw a couple of people using it so when I went in had it all to myself. Never went for breakfast there but everyone said who we spoke to that it was good. Overall the place is lovely the staff really friendly and very helpful. If we was to stay in this area again would come back here. More
