Casa Da Aldeia

The cream-coloured Casa da Aldeia is set in secluded grounds outside the unpretentious village of Bensafrim, just 7km from the winding maze of whitewashed streets that make up the old centre of Lagos. Traditional style and modern comfort have been successfully married in this spacious and recently-built villa. The comfortable living room is tastefully decorated in Algarvian shades of blue and yellow and an archway leads to a separate dining room. The attention to detail apparent all over the house and grounds is perhaps best exemplified by the delightful bathrooms with their mosaic-tiled shower niches. Three of the bedrooms have their own terraces overlooking the blue and white tiled pool and grassed area around it.

Hedges provide privacy whilst roses and bougainvillaea embellish the verdant garden, tended twice-weekly by a gardener.

The house is supremely located to enjoy a range of restaurants all within easy driving distance and some of the region's best and quietest beaches can be found stretching west of Lagos towards Cabo de Sao Vicente. However, there is always the option of grilling some freshly caught sardines on the barbecue and washing it down with a chilled glass of wine in the comfort and privacy of your own holiday retreat.
