Hotel Viking  

Recently renovated, this modern hotel looks great. What's more the setting's just out of this world. Perched on a cliff top, it overlooks Senhora da Rocha beach and the Atlantic Ocean. As you can imagine, the views out to sea are to die for and it's only a two minute walk to the golden sands below. Just imagine it – the kids happily building sand castles as you lay back in the sun sifting grains of sand through your fingers. Bliss. Of course, you may prefer to chill out by the swimming pool. There are two to choose from plus two reserved for children. Pull yourself up a sun lounger, smooth on some lotion and relax. And if doing, well, not very much at all sounds like your idea of fun, then you'll love the health club. It's just the place to unwind and totally distress. Treat yourself to a massage or sink into the whirlpool and let the bubbles wash over you. If, however, you want to step things up a bit, there's lots to choose from. Head down to the multi-court to practice your tennis, basketball or football. And there's plenty of choice on the food front, too. At breakfast you'll be treated to things like fresh fruit and cereal. Come dinnertime you can pile your plate as high as you want at the sumptuous buffet. And it's only a short taxi ride into town if you fancy going out after dinner. Otherwise, head to one of the bars for a quiet drink or maybe take in one of the hotel shows, that weather permitting, will be put on for you to enjoy. All in all, the Hotel Viking is a great choice if you're looking for a fun-filled family getaway that's got plenty of facilities and is really close to the beach
