We stayed for 7 day all inclusive holiday at Alvor Baia and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. THE HOTEL Check in is from 4pm Check out is Midday Ground floor Reception (with information Brochures, flyers etc) Grand caffe (bar) Small Shop Pool and pool bar Kids play area -1 Floor Restaurant Grand Bar Entertainment area -2 Floor SPA Gym Hairdressers Small games area The hotel also has a football pitch and squash/ badminton court on the grounds. THE LOCATION The hotel is 50/60 minute drive from faro airport, of which is mainly motorway. A 5 minute walk away there is a spar shop. Next to the hotel there is a private hospital. The hotel is a good ten minute walk to the centre of Alvor. This is down hill to the centre, however up a steep hill back so make sure you've got comfy shoes on! The centre of Alvor is a quaint fishing village which has lots of small, touristy shops (selling cork bags, magnets, tea towels etc) there are also many restaurants (Indian, Chinese, traditional Portuguese fish restaurants down near the waterfront) as well as small bars and a pharmacy. The hotel puts on a free shuttle bus everyday to the beach (which is about 6 minute drive away) There is a newly built boardwalk along the majority of the sand and along this about 4/5 small restaurants serving alcohol, food, drink ice creams etc. Sun loungers are also available to hire for the day. The location of this hotel is great if you want to relax and chill out, however if you're looking for somewhere where there is lots to do I'd suggest to head to albruferia. THE ROOM The rooms were really good & high quality. Clean, modern and very spacious. Our room was situated on the top floor - room 440 and overlooked the front of the hotel with a view of the badminton/football court and view of mountains in the background. The room was divided into two areas with one side super king size bed and flat screen tv and the other a living area compromising of double sofa bed, another flat screen tv, four chaired dining table and small kitchenette (sink, microwave, electric hob & refrigerator) Both sides of the room had large sliding doors out onto our own balcony (with outdoor table and 2 x chairs). A large door doubles up as a cupboard front or room separator should you wish to. The bathroom had a standard size bath, power shower, large sink, toilet and bdette. Each day the room was made over with fresh towels and linen as well as a small shampoo, shower gel, soap and shower cap. There is a safe in the wardrobe which you have to pay for at reception if you want to use daily.(â¬1.50 per day) FOOD & DRINKS The hotel has 3 bars: ⢠1 outdoor pool bar (beach hut style) open from 10am- 11pm ⢠1 indoor located on the same floor as reception/entrance (these drinks are not included in all inclusive) open 10am - 1:30am ⢠1 downstairs (level -1) open 10am - midnight All inclusive is available from 10am - midnight Only the 'cocktail of the day' is included on all inclusive - this changes everyday to another cocktail. Each of the all Inclusive bars serve the standard spirits (peach schnapps, martini, vodka etc) larger was superbock as well as tea, coffee, latte Water fountains are dotted around the hotel Meals are served: Breakfast -7:30am - 10am Lunch - 12:30pm - 3pm Dinner - 6:30pm - 10pm Between meal times there is also a snack bar available 10:30am - Midday Bread, sausages, beans, scrambled egg, fruit, pastries 4pm - 5:30pm Hotdogs, sandwiches, burgers, crisps THE SPA On the ground floor of the hotel there is a spa/gym. Open from - 7pm Guests can pay a daily rate of â¬10 to use the facilities or â¬40 for AWEEK. If using the facilities you also had to wear a swimming hat (these can be purchased at the spa reception for â¬3) Treatments can be booked throughout your stay at an additional charge. I would advise booking this as early as possible. When we come to booking our treatments they were fully booked and unfortunately we missed out. We did spend the day in the spa on our last day though which was very relaxing. The spa had a Turkish bath/steam room, sauna and 5 sensory showers as well as small pool with bed jacuzzis.More
Loved this hotel! The rooms are huge! The food was lovely! The pool enormous (but a little chilly) Kids club is close to the pool area so you can stay close to the little ones. The wifi doesnt work in the rooms but you can access this is the reception area. The hotel is very clean and our rooms were cleaned daily. Alvor is a lovely little place - not for the lively but lovely for families and couples.More

Probably best with a family
Modern hotel which felt a bit like a motorway service station at times. Very noisy public spaces and no WiFi in the rooms. The main bar downstairs is dreadful. Food acceptable and on a positive note the pool is very large and rather fine. If you are a couple I would avoid this place...More
Alford Baia hotel
My wife and I of 36 yrs marriage stayed at the Alvor Baia last year, September time away from the school holidays. The fransfere from the airport was the worst part of the stay, only for the time it took. The complex it's self is a great destination to head for, located a short walk from the small fishing village of Alvo, it is truly a beautiful and natural place. Alford Baia hotel is a very good well maintained complex, with very polite and chatty staff who have a good grasp of all the dialects spoken. It is a vast spread out hotel so you never feel on top of each other, plenty of space around the pool, the pool its self is vast with shallow areas for the little ones. Would definitely stay there again, Portugal needs another airport that end of the country.More

Booked this hotel as a last minute holiday in October 2015. Absolutely loved every minute of it! The weather wasn't perfect, but we weren't expecting much as it was October anyway. The rooms are beautiful and our balcony was enormous. The bar staff were awesome, and so was the entertainment. (I worked as an animator in Bulgaria in 2013 so always have fun chatting to people who were in the same line of work). The Spa is lovely, however you have to wear these green rubber swimming hats (buy at reception) for hygiene reasons, but me and my partner thought they were hilarious and kept them for memorabilia. The town is beautiful and all the locals are so friendly. Not a single bad thing to say about this place. Will definitely be returning! Travelled October 2015More
