These roomy apartments are only minutes from Alvor’s sandy beach and village centre. There’s a bus stop nearby, too, so you can get to Lagos and Albufeira easily.
These apartments have location all sewn up. They’re a 5-minute stroll from Alvor’s golden sands, and the village centre is even closer. Plus, there’s a handful of cafés, bars and shops in the complex itself.
Bright and spacious apartments are set in a trio of buildings that skirt the pool area. There’s plenty of sunbathing space, plus a bar serving drinks and snacks.
A light and simply styled one-bedroom apartment with white wooden furniture and tiled flooring throughout. There’s a open-plan lounge area with dining table and chairs, kitchenette with four electic rings and a balcony. It sleeps up to four, in twin beds and two sofa beds in the lounge. Cots are available on request.
stayed here six years in a row, great appts, lovely clean rooms and great pool.Close to shops bars and restaurants.Stayed in all different rooms and no complaints about any other than could do with WiFi in them and perhaps a wee update but excellent value for money.Heading back there this Tuesday for my seventh year!More

Should you ever venture to Dumas apartments avoid number 114
a complete dump. The mattress on the bed was dirty, the sheets had holes in and the pillows smelt had to wrap towels round the. The toilet seat was so old it had gone from white to cream and was cracked, not very hygienic!! The towels were homey and threadbare. The two sofas where covered in stains all in a very sad neglected apartment. Come on Thomsons sort it out . Not a good for your reputation.More

Good value, clean apartments booked through booking.com
We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment booked through booking.com so this review is regarding the apartments managed by Torralvor as I know some apartments are privately owned.
We had stayed here in 2004 so we knew it was a great location for the town and beach.
Our apartment was basic but extremely clean, I couldn't fault the cleanliness at all..very impressed.
It was reassuring to ben given a key for our safe which we used and had no issues with security.
We were facing onto the road and found it a bit noisy in the mornings with the street cleaner and lorry's but it could have been noisy over the bars in the late evening so I don't know which position is the best in the complex.More
Great place to stay
We booked these apartments through Thompsons having never been to this area we were a bit concerned if it would suit us. The complex is huge, having said that it was not busy probably due to the schools having returned. The swimming pool area is very large with a grassed area, there were plenty of sun beds but not all had sun shades. A life guard was on duty who also kept the area tidy. Regarding the actual apartment one reviewer said it was rather tired and needed a face lift I agree with them as one or two of the drawers were falling apart. In fact there was so much drawer and cupboard space that we didn't notice it. Some lights failed and a light switch fell apart but
to be fair these were all fixed in a couple of hours of reporting.TV was a bit small but who goes to Portugal to watch TV.Generally the apartment was large light and airy with a separate bedroom and toilet. There was no noise at night but we may have just been lucky. The position of the apartments was good with just a 5 min walk to to the centre of town and to the beach. One possible down side which didn't affect us there is no air conditioning but a fan is provided. So the apartment may be hot in the summer I believe a second fan could be hired from reception.
Alvour is a small fishing town with a good choice of restaurants and bars. It is not too commercialised there is also a good variety of shops for every need.More

We booked a one bedroom apt with Thomsons, arriving at the Dunas the receptionist told us she had upgraded us to a two bedroom apt. This was on the 2nd floor facing the road. Nice roomy apt with every appliance you could think of, although we did not use any of them. Our door to the balcony would not lock and we told reception and this was put right straight away. Any problems are sorted straight away. We stayed for two weeks and hired a safe at 20 euros per week, thought that was a bit expensive, but for peace of mind we would rather pay that. We arrived on 17th Sept until 1st Oct, weather was brilliant, we knew there was no air con but would say this is definitely needed especially if going in the hotter months. There is a fan and if you want a further fan you can hire one. You can hear dogs barking at night but with the fan on it did block the noise but we could not hear any noise from the bars. The refuge collectors come round about 11 or 12pm at night but didn't bother us. There were a few little niggles, the bed was quite hard, the sheet that covered us was not big enough for the bed and the bed creaked quite bad. I personally think the apartment could have been cleaned a little bit better and the only time the balcony was swept was when I did it. We usually had breakfast in the Pic Nic bar, which was very nice and the staff friendly. All other meals and drinks we went into the village. Kate our rep was very nice, friendly and very informative. Alvor is lovely and we will definitely go back and we would also stay in the Dunas but would prefer air con .More
