These roomy apartments are only minutes from Alvor’s sandy beach and village centre. There’s a bus stop nearby, too, so you can get to Lagos and Albufeira easily.
These apartments have location all sewn up. They’re a 5-minute stroll from Alvor’s golden sands, and the village centre is even closer. Plus, there’s a handful of cafés, bars and shops in the complex itself.
Bright and spacious apartments are set in a trio of buildings that skirt the pool area. There’s plenty of sunbathing space, plus a bar serving drinks and snacks.

2nd time at Dunas Do Alvor apartments
We stayed at these apartments for a week at the beginning of June. We had stayed there about 6 or 7 years ago and found the apartments, once again , to be ideal for our needs. The apartments are quite spacious and have everything you need for a self catering holiday. They are about a 5 minute walk to the bars and restaurants of Alvor . However, you don't have to go into Alvor to have a good night as there are more than enough, very reasonably priced bars on the complex. We had a few drinks at the Chill out bar and also at the Cactus 2 bar. There is also the Picnic bar but this bar is more for food than drink. The supermarket on site is also very competitive on price with a bottle of Mateus Rose at just over 4 euros. If there is a downside for me then it would have to be that the sheets nor the towels were changed in the week that we were there. Apart from this, it was a great week and we would certainly consider going to Alvor again. There is a great choice of restaurants and bars in Alvor to suit all tastes. Even the most expensive meal only cost about 42 euros and that was 4 course with drinks. Excellent value.More

A great location 5 minutes to town with many good restaurants. Only 10 minutes to a wonderful beach with plenty beach bars. The hotel itself basic, clean and tidy. Our room was opposite a bar which was slightly noisy at night. The pool is a good size with plenty of sunbeds. Overall enjoyed our holiday.More

Great location and central to beach and town alike. Beautiful restaurants within a five minute walk. Plenty of bars on your doorstep too. Will definitely return to Dunas do Alvor as the pool is also superb and has lots of space.More
You Will Struggle To Find Better Value!!
We stayed at Dunas in October 2014 and were so impressed with our holiday as a whole we re-booked to return in June 2015. The Dunas apartments are great value and, whilst they could not be described as luxurious, they are very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen facilities are good and included a washing machine this time although we did not have one last year. We were accompanied this time with our 3 children (in their 20's) who had their own apartment which did not have one. The apartments are immaculately clean and whilst the furnishings are fairly basic, they are perfectly adequate. Whilst we did not use the pool, it looked very clean and was very quiet. I read reviews last year talking about over-crowding but it would seem that the addition of an electronic lock on the pool's gate has resolved this issue. Alvor itself is a wonderful location with something for everyone. There are so many restaurants and bars it is impossible to get round them all in the duration of a holiday. There are boat trips from the harbour for fishing to dolphin watching and sunset cruises. Nothing is much more than a 10 minute stroll from the Dunas whether it is to the beach or the centre of Alvor itself. We are a couple in our 50's and we love it. Our kids are in their 20's and said it was one of the best places they had ever visited. We will definitely be returning!!More

Great location, great pool.
We are currently staying here booked through Thompson. Arrived late evening to a quick and easy check in with polite reception staff. We were given room 139 directly above reception a bit tricky to get in have to line the key up though and your fine! Wi-Fi available in reception or our room as were directly above!! The room is one bed with a large kitchen/living area a good size bathroom and big bedroom. There was a cot and sofa bed in the living area and 2 beds in the bedroom. Was a bit worried about my 2 young children staying in the room so put the cot and one of the sofa beds in the bedroom also. Still had lots of room to spare and felt more at ease all in together. Only complaint the beds are rick hard like most hotels and could do with more pillows! Very clean and tidy with everything you need, maid service daily. We found if we put towels in the bath when we needed them changed they got changed. Room was cleaned regularly think beds are done once a week. Small balcony just enough to sit out and dry clothes overlooking the road. A little noisy but better than being opposite the bars. Quite a lot of dogs barking but not so much you can't sleep. Only thing we could have done with was a fan included but we hired one for about 10 euro a week. Lots of mosquito so bring repellent and keep windows and doors shut on an evening after dusk. Best of all this apartment is so close to everything in Alvor probably best location ever. 5 mins to the lovely beach and less than 10 mins to the top of the town even with 2 slow children. We could walk up to town back to the harbour and round back to the apartment easily. If you stay in the main areas you can usually find a footpath but the roads are not busy even if you need to walk for part of the way on them. Walked to the end of the beach with the rocks and coves in less than 15 minutes but a quick note about footpaths (there aren't many) so you need to walk on the road most of the way. The view of all the little coves and beautiful beach was worth it. Lots of places to get snack through the day. The Pic-nic snack bar right next to the pool had great snacks and drink with friendly staff all day and night. Some other bars in the complex were OK but not as welcoming even though they sell cheaper beer they're not always the best. Loads of restaurant's to choose from but could have done with a couple of chill out kind of bars as most are attached to restaurant's and on main roads so not ideal for kids who like to run off occasionally! Lots of the cheap hotels and apartments are out of town up the hill but I think we found the best here. Great rep (Kate) for Thompson would find out anything for you and very helpful receptionist's made our stay easy. Booked with Thompson and went to Zoomarine for the day. A must if you like dolphins water slides and shows well worth a visit and the bus stop is only 5 mins away. Went to Lagos and portimao for days out with no problem. We will definitely be back again.More
