Villa Monte Domingos Simoes

in Albufeira , Algarve

This quirky villa is a must for those wanting to get back to the good old days. Originally built in 1900, this converted farmhouse was renovated in 1996. Rather than give the place a modern refurbishment, the owners have decided to keep many of the original features. Housed with traditional décor such as stone walls and cane ceilings, you’ll still get the feel of an old country farmhouse.

Keeping with the style, the furniture is classic looking, adding that extra touch. Anyway, let’s see what’s inside. Immediately in front of the entrance is a fully equipped kitchen. Here you can whip up some simple, traditional food to match your rustic surroundings.

And where better to eat a freshly prepared meal than in the dining area? These days it’s very rare that you get an entire family round the table, so take full advantage. But don’t spend all your time inside- especially when there’s a great pool waiting outside! Whether you’re after a fresh morning swim, or just somewhere to lounge in the sun- this is the place to be.

After your pool session you haven’t got far to go for a shower, and there’s a second one in the garden! But that’s not all. On a hot summer’s day there’s nothing better than a sizzling barbecue. So gather everyone onto the tiled terrace and serve up some tasty snacks.

If you’re starting to get itchy feet and feel like exploring, there’s plenty to see. Got a craving for Portuguese Piri-Piri chicken? Have no fear! There are restaurants and bars close to your new home. As well as this, you can grab your bucket and spade and take the short journey to the beach. A great villa in superb surroundings - what more could you ask for?

Your guide to Albufeira, Algarve

"The central old town still has a very traditional feel with narrow streets and hundreds of white houses straggling out into the surrounding hillsides. The eastern side of the town is more bustling with many new hotels shops, and plenty of family restaurants and bars serving local and international cuisine. In addition to the town's own large golden beach, there are more intimate beaches close by, such as those at Sao Rafael and Castelo."

The area of Sao Joao and Albufeira is ideal for young people and families looking for lazy days by the sea and a buzzing nightlife. excellent villa! Split into two seperate houses. Pool excellent. Great barbecue area. If you want away from the noise of the pool there is a quiet area with a nice swing at back of the villa!! A couple of mins walk from the villa is a great supermarket/caffee... more on this review
