Swanky and intimate, with a countryside setting, the Cerro da Marina is the ideal adult getaway.
The hillside setting of this hotel gives you impressive views of the countryside, the marina and the ocean. It’s quiet, but you’re not cut off – the beach is about a 15-minute stroll away, while the town’s main square is a bit further.
The interiors here are really chic. Crisp-white walls, sprawling sofas and mood lighting fill the lobby. In the rooms, peachy shades and draped canopies over the beds create a romantic feel.

Just returned from two weeks holiday at Cerro da Marina having had a very relaxing holiday. Would reiterate what so many reviews have said about it being a very quiet and friendly hotel. All the staff are absolutely wonderful, nothing being too much trouble to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are a very good size and well appointed. My wife was pleased to see twenty proper clothes hangers in the wardrobe, not like the cheap wire ones you often get. Pool area was clean and tidy, always plenty of sun beds available. However, I do have a couple of adverse comments. One the wifi. Yes you can have it free throughout the hotel but every time you tablet or phone goes into sleep mode you have to log again with a user name and password and i couldn't pick up my emails until I went into Albuferia and stopped at any bar/restaurant where they had free wifi. Secondly the food I would say is just adequate. Breakfast was fine good selection and wonderful fresh bread but the evening meals I found disappointing. The choice was of soup or one starter, then a meat or fish main dish. Three alternative meat/fish dishes where available but these seldom changed. The main menu was on a weekly cycle so if you didn't like the choice in the first week you had a problem. Desserts where the same six choices every meal for the whole two weeks. Ended up eating out four times in the second week. Would suggest not going half board and looking at the menu displayed each day before deciding if to eat in or not.More

Quiet, small hotel, lovely staff
Had two weeks here in May. The hotel is small so offers limited facilities. The staff are multifunctional serving dinner, cleaning rooms, clearing up round the pool etc. They were cheerful and efficient. Meals were simple and tasty although the sweets were the same every day and mainly no good for diabetics. Breakfast was an array of bread and rolls with cereal, cold meats, hot choice of the usual suspects. In my second week they started serving simple lunch choice like omelette, with the self serve toasted sandwiches, filled rolls and snack things. Tea and coffee cold drinks including beer and wine being available on their honesty system, just sign for what you take and pay at the end of the holiday. Plenty of loungers round the pool with a Jacuzzi (not heated) a covered area. We had a pool view with a balcony on the lower floor. The hotel is split level. Room was of ample size with a bathroom, shower is in the bath functional if a little tired. Location not, as I had read, a few hundred yards from Marina and town centre, more like a mile to centre, All down a very steep hill. I could not make it so we taxied down and up about E5 per occasion. The main hotel advertises its evening event (singer, guitarist etc) we did not visit. The hotel is at the summit of Cerro Grande and surrounded by small villas. There is no passing traffic. The area overlooking the marina is a lot of unfinished villas so is somewhat scruffy.More
A lovely hotel, away from the hustle bustle!
Lovely grounds and pool area. Staff had a smile at all times and made you feel very welcome. Bedroom was good size very nicely decorated, my partner found the bed a little hard but perfect for me. We would highly recommend this hotel, for a quiet break. Positioned high up above marina and about 10-15 minutes to the old town, no problem for us but for anyone with mobility problems I would recommend getting a taxi. More
This is a hotel for those who want peace and quiet but who are reasonably fit to walk into Albufeira or drive/taxi for some livelier experiences. It was ideal for us as we walked everywhere, a bit harder coming back because of the hills and the food and wine intake but worth it. The breakfast at the hotel was a buffet but we all cleared our tables after onto a trolley. Now we didn't mind doing this really but have to admit we were surprised initially. The hotel was unmanned during the day so they had an honesty bar where you help yourself to wrapped sandwiches, hot and cold drinks or alcohol which you wrote down on a form with your room number. Bear in mind they have 24hr surveillance cameras around the place. Our room was lovely, Moroccan style themed with a lovely view from the balcony. Huge bathroom with a walk in shower ( no bath although some of the rooms have baths), which suited us. Only thing we had no window in the bathroom or form of ventilation( a tiny vet) so when we first walked in the room it smelt a bit 'sweaty' but we bought a cheap air freshener and left the bathroom door open when showering with either balcony door open or air con on. The bathroom door wouldn't shut and although that was ok for showering ,sometimes you want abit more privacy, even though we've been married many years somethings should remain private, but credit too the staff it was fixed within hours of our mentioning it, thank you. The pool area was lovely, clean with a Jacuzzi and a bit of a gym area and massage room. Pool water was very cold but it was May and we were told the Portuguese dont heat their pools? Once in the pool it was fantastic although very shallow 1.5mtres at its highest. You could have an evening meal at the hotel if you booked before 12 each day, we did try it a few times but not overly impressed sorry and we went down to the sister hotel one evening and that was manic, buffet style but packed and noisy. Food was OK. Most days we ate in Albufeira but not on the sea front as it was noisy and packed with 'hens' and 'stags' so we stayed away from them. We will certainly go back to this hotel as we had a really nice time.More
Very nice find - pleasant surprise
We spent a week here in early May, and while in the early season, found no noise and the Cerro is well away from all the sounds of Stag and Hen parties in other parts of Albufeira. Sleep quality was some of the best we have found, everybody was very considerate. This hotel would not suit anyone wanting any form of nightlife or entertainment. While we had booked B&B we took up the offer at E12:00 for a very good 3 course evening meal every night, good quality and reasonably priced also. Many thanks to Melana(?) for her cheery service each evening and when also she popped up! Reception, in fact all the staff, were very pleasant, helpful and had time for a chat and exchange information for guests. The only down side is the hilly position (as with a lot of Albufeira), but we soon found the quick way down and the more leisurely route back - via the Intermarche. My wife with asthma could cope with this . We would echo all the positives below and would have no hesitation in both returning and recommending to other people..More
