Swanky and intimate, with a countryside setting, the Cerro da Marina is the ideal adult getaway.
The hillside setting of this hotel gives you impressive views of the countryside, the marina and the ocean. It’s quiet, but you’re not cut off – the beach is about a 15-minute stroll away, while the town’s main square is a bit further.
The interiors here are really chic. Crisp-white walls, sprawling sofas and mood lighting fill the lobby. In the rooms, peachy shades and draped canopies over the beds create a romantic feel.

Back again for visit number four.
Our fourth visit to this brilliant, little hotel. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from Carol and the staff, it felt like we'd come "home". We really fell in love with this establishment on our first visit because everything suited us and gave us a great holiday. Although it's a reasonable walk from Albufeira's old town, it's worth it to take in the views as you stroll leisurely down the hill into the main square. It's also good to return in the same way to walk off a few calories collected during their excellent multi-choice buffet breakfast. If just relaxing is your thing then there are poolside loungers, a comfortable outside seating area, inside seating lounge and of course, your room's balcony, all are very good. The hotel serves lunch and afternoon tea and of course dinner. Dinner has to be ordered by noon from a menu situated in reception, there are daily set choices, alternatives too, they will also vary some ingredients if practicable and at 11:50 euros is very good value for money. Nothing is too much trouble for the hard-working team to give a good holiday experience. We thoroughly recommend this small, friendly hotel and hope to return next year for visit number five.More
A Lovely Retreat
Spent a week here from 4th September. It was our first visit to Portugal and definitely made the right choice of hotel. The room had everything we needed To make our stay restful and enjoyable. There were only 23 rooms so plenty of space around the well kept pool. A sheltered Jacuzzi area, an honesty bar by the pool simply serve yourself and write in a book and pay at the end of the holiday. Lunch snacks were available to purchase between 12.30 and 13.30 and complimentary afternoon tea at 4pm. If dinner was required at the hotel simply choose from the menu and order at reception by 12 midday. The food was very good and 3 courses for 11.50 euros good value too. The hotel location was great too up away from Albufura old town nearly overlooking the harbour. Plenty of places to explore on foot locally and a 20 minute walk downhill to the town and beach. Pre booked two excursions before we left and they were both good value for money, jeep safari and guardiana river trip. Would definitely stay at the Cerro da marina hotel again staff all very friendly with a personal touch and very clean. Loved the quiet ambience and position of the hotel within a potentially noisy reset.More
Third time at this lovely small hotel about 20 minutes walk from the old town of Albufeira although as hotel sits high above the marina some of the walk back particularly the final 60 metres are very steep it would not suit someone with walking difficulties. Taxi fares are very reasonable if you don't fancy the excercise. The rooms are nicely decorated and well equipped but with no tea and coffee facilities. Although advertising sat tv the channels are very limited. There are always plenty of sun beds with shades around the pool and in the grassed area. There is also a covered area with a jacuzzi and comfortable couches where you find the small spa centre.Breakfast are good with a choice of continental or hot, scrambled egg sussage bacon etc. Light snacks hamburgers pizza etc are available at lunch time.Evening meals are of a good standard with plenty of choice, dining is on the terrace weather permitting. Hotel staff are excellent special mention to Carol at front desk and Melina otherwise known as " Beyonce' " doing a bit of everything else. Plenty of reading material in the reading room and a very comfortable lounge. There are no bar staff but a very well equipped bar is available on a honesty bar basis. All in all an excellent choice to explore the area but for those of you who want a quiet holiday stay away from Albuifera it's bedlam with hen and stag parties!More
Little gem in a big resort
This is an unusal hotel in that it is honesty based. There is no full time receptionist or a barman. Drinks are from the bar on trust. To this end I feel it rather loses the personal touch as friendship with the staff is part of the holiday. That said the hotel is small, oh so quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style with sufficient choice to ring the changes. The evening meal is very cheap by outside comparison and is three courses and of good quality. The waiting staff are also the cleaners and every other job going so you do get to know them (All 4). The pool is clean but very chilly water early in the day, plenty of sun beds and no cases of "towels on the sunbeds" were spotted. There is also a whirlpool that was very refreshing. Rooms are quite large and comfortable large beds.Air conditioning is included in the price and room safe was 20 euros form two weeks. Ample storage space and water was always hot with choice of bath or shower. All rooms (but two) had a balcony and rooms also had intruder alarms that enforced security. You need to be fit, however,to stay here and also vist the town as the hotel is at the top of a hill that is very steep for the last 75 yards.Certainly not for the disabled but taxis are available in town, prices range from 3.60 euro to 5 euro depending on the driver and route he takes. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and restful 2 weeks and also enjoyed Albufeira which has a lovely Old Town. No shortages of restaurants and for the more lively and party goers there is The Strip with its loud music. I don't hesitate to recommend this hotel- it's a delightMore
The most relaxing holiday we have ever had
We have recently returned from a two week holiday at Cerro da Marina. This was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. This is a very small hotel with few staff, however the staff are efficient and very friendly. We stayed bed and breakfast but did have a couple of evening meals ,which were good and cheap ie 11.50 euros for a 3 course meal. A great walk in shower in our room. Our only complaint was we felt the bed was very hard. Would highly recommend this hotel for those who which for a quite relaxing holiday.More
