The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.
From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in a 5 minutes.
Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.

The 2 pools are set together on the sun terrace, surrounded by palm trees comfy loungers, with straw parasols to keep the sun at bay. The larger, curvy pool is ideal for everyone who wants to swim, splash about or just float in the sun, whilst the smaller, circular pool is ideal for the little ones.
This small friendly, heated pool provides some relieve for those who are not sun lovers, or for when the weather misbehaves. Loungers line the sides making this a good spot to chill for a while.

I booked several apartments for my Hen Weekend at the Cerro Mar Atlantico, Albufeira, Portugal, the apartments were great for what we needed and as they were self contained we were able to visit the local supermarket (just up the road) and stock up our kitchens for the weekend, which was very handy and cut costs. Our room was spacious and clean, apart from a fusty smell, which soon left once we opened up the place. The only thing was the beds and the pillows were not very comfy, so glad we only had a few of nights sleeping on them. The hotel occupies an elevated position over the Old Town and has good views and there are pools available in every block. The hotel also has a nice small spa, that guest may use free of charge, the hotel also had wireless, but there was a charge for this, so we used the restaurants and bars where we ate and drank, all the bars have wireless and allow customers to use this free. The hotel is at the top of a slight incline and has a lot of stairs to get down to the Old Town; however I understand that the hotel runs a shuttle bus, but being young and fit, we decided to do the stairs to burn off those cocktail calories. Good place to stay for a cheap getaway.More

great place, fab facilities, lots of pools - but oh those stairs!
This review is a little late as we stayed in June 2014. We arrived as a group of girls, and there was a mix up with rooms as we wanted to be together but we were in different areas and different buildings. No big deal though. But our room was in the building opposite reception, down some stairs. Appeared a little dark and sheltered at first but it looked out onto a bright terrace and a pool was in front and behind. We had booked a studio for two and were quite pleased and surprised at the facilities and size of room. We had a bathroom with bath and shower, a dining room with table and chairs, a large main room with twin beds and a large sofabed. Through to a dressing area with wardrobes and then a fully equipped separate kitchen with marble countertops and full fridge, oven, kettle toaster etc. We could've quite easily accomodated a family of four in the rooms. There are at least 4 pools on the resport amongst the associated buildings and they all seemed really nice and it wasn't difficult to find a spot. there is a small supermarket on site with prices that weren't that out of the way. We were only there for 3 nights or we would've gone to the local supermarket which i think is Aldi or Lidl and only seemed 5 min drive away. We didnt eat breakfast or dinner at the resort but the snack bars were nice and not too overpriced for snacks or drinks. and they had cocktails of the day which were good. The walk down the stairs is hard! and back up is worse! Or there is a shuttle to the square I believe, but a taxi is only 3 euros approx. Lots of nice places to go in the square and the beach is only about a 25 min walk from the hotel down the stairs. 99 stairs up and 99 stairs down! it is tough and your legs will ache! The facilities are very very good. I would definitely return to this accommodation and would recommend.More

We arried at 11.00 in the morning of January 1st to be greeted by a very efficient and helpful receptionist who upgraded us to a one bedroomed apartment which was fully kitted out with dishwasher washing machine etc, the only thing I could have wanted was a cheese grater. The apartment was spacious and clean with a fabulous view. We were self catering and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of using local shops and markets as well as the Aldi and Lidl. The gypsy market is great the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. The hotel itself was very quiet but again this suited us. Yes there are a lot of steps to the town but bythe end of the week we were no longer breathless at the top! The security measures were good. We would definately go to thishotel again.More
Stayed here at the beginning of September for ten nights, we were in the Cerro Mar Atlantico up the very top. We were a family of five adults and a baby one year old. We had a two bedroom apartment on the top floor which was good, the balconys were massive! Well equipped with with dish washer and washing machine. We couldn't fault the hotel it had everything you needed, lovely big pool with swim up bar, bar snacks and meals were nice, and the staff in the snack bar were so pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. Further down the road there is the main hotel with another pool but we didn't use the facilities there as we were quite happy with ours. There is also another part with another pool. Well the dreaded steps into town, they were steep but were not a problem for a 50 & 60 year old, Nan Bampa mum and dad, son and baby in a buggy went up and down a few times a day, did have a taxi home at night though. Lovely restaurants in old town, always found something nice to eat. The only let down is it has become too commercialised, been to Albufeira a few times in the past, but won't be retuning far too busy, stag and hen nights not family orientated any more, so will be going to other quieter parts of Portugal in the future.More

Stayed a week with friends in Albufeira at Cerro Mar Atlantico in February. Well equipped apartment, clean, well located over the Old Town.Lidl and Aldi 5 minutes walk from the apartment. The Old Town is only 10 minutes away with a lot of bars and restaurants, as expected, very quiet in February. Used a transfer company called Yellowfish transfers for the second time and will continue to do so, the guys loved the free WIFI in car.Recommended.More
