The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.
From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in 5 minutes.
Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.
The two pools are set together on the sun terrace, surrounded by palm trees comfy loungers, with straw parasols to keep the sun at bay. The larger, curvy pool is ideal for everyone who wants to swim, splash about or just float in the sun, whilst the smaller, circular pool is ideal for the little ones.
It’s a light and airy apartment with wooden furnishings sleeping up to four. A fully equipped kitchen makes it easy with a dishwasher and washing machine along with an oven and electric hob for making meals.

Great place with outstanding facilities. Very clean & modern. definitely going to return. Easy walk into old Albufeira but make sure to have walking shoes if walking back as step hill. Friendly staff..More

Good Appartments. Unhelpful Reception Staff
Just returned from a two week stay at these appartments. We were in a studio which was spacious and kept clean daily. Studios are all on the ground floor. Beds though are probably the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in.
On check in we were met by a young woman who was more interested in chatting to other people over our heads than focusing on us, the customer. Not a good first impression and after an early morning flight we were both tired so not what we expected in a 4 star establishment. Bar staff were very nice as was cleaning staff.
There is a booklet in the room which gives you information and tells to to ask at reception for any specifics. We did twice and they shrugged their shoulders and said they couldn't help. We sought the Information ourselves online. Not impressed with that either.
Grounds are surrounded by security gates and barbed wire fence, which tells me there is a problem with crime in the area. Albuferia itself, although is pretty in parts, is very run down and dirty and covered in graffiti.
Like previous reviews I reiterate that they are on a steep hill so do not book these if you have mobility issues or have kids in buggies. If you don't mind that and want a good standard of appartments then these are fine.
In my opinion it's not a 4 star place. It's 3 star. They probably only get the 4 because of the spa etc. It certainly doesn't have 4 star service by any means.
They are centrally located for the square and old town.
During our stay we had instances of problems with other residents. One in particular in the early hours of the morning trying to kick a door in to another studio and we witnessed a young girl being brought back to her room by Police in handcuffs. I know things happen sometimes outwith the hotel's control and don't know the circumstances but as other guests we don't want to have to witness that on holiday. That really put us off the place.
All in all we did enjoy our holiday and explored the area which we loved but compared to other 4 star places we've been, this doesn't come close. More

Stayed here for a week in room 301 in colina block the room was biggest we have stayed in consisted of 2 good size bedrooms 2 bathrooms large dining living room area and a kitchen lovely long balcony with brilliant sea/pool views. We went to the bbq they have on the rooftop every Wednesday was nice with some chilled out portugese band playing.Only thing that stopped me giving this hotel 5 stars was there is no entertainment everything else was lovely pools was nice and the swim up bar was a nice touch staff was nice and polite.Would reccomend this hotel anybody who is going to stay there will not be dissapointed
P.s the hill and stairs are a killer but a taxi is only 4 euros also hotel puts a courtesy bus on at selected times.More
Amazing Holiday - can't wait for next year!
Returned back on Monday after a 10 nights stay in a One Bedroomed Apartment and all i can say is how amazing the apartments and facilities were. Our apartment was cleaned each day, the pool although cold was refreshing and immaculate.
We used the bar at the Cerro Mar Gardens across the road at night on a couple of occasions, Felippa the barmaid was lovely and made one of the best Mojitos i've ever tasted.
We have already booked our trip back for September 2016 - Well done Cerro Mar - Keep up the good work xxxxMore
