The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.
From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in 5 minutes.
Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.

2 outdoor pools
The two pools are set together on the sun terrace, surrounded by palm trees comfy loungers, with straw parasols to keep the sun at bay. The larger, curvy pool is ideal for everyone who wants to swim, splash about or just float in the sun, whilst the smaller, circular pool is ideal for the little ones.
This small friendly, heated pool provides some relieve for those who are not sun lovers, or for when the weather misbehaves. Loungers line the sides making this a good spot to chill for a while.
Monte Verde is open for breakfast and dinner, and offers a wide selection of tasty local and International cuisine.

Average accommodation, very good apartment, but rude staff and large noisy groups
Stayed in the Colina block April 2017 - 2 adults, 2 children (4 and 1 years) Pros: Apartment - oven, washing machine, freezer, good size rooms, free hire of a cot for baby Pool area - generally quiet (but it was April so may be a lot busier in summer) Location - great views, close to Aldi and Lidl Cons: Apartment - poor lighting, automatic lighting in toilet, thin walls/ceiling if near to noisy groups like we were, no microwave, no iron, no colander. Also our hob did not work when we arrived. Staff - reception staff were surly at best, rude at worst (noticeably they were lovely and polite to those who spoke Portuguese though) Internet/wifi - Chargeable (28 euros through reception, 25 directly with Novaspot), poor connectivity for most (we did get good signal though) Noisy groups - lots of stag / hen parties and large groups, which was a surprise given the description from brochure Not strictly part of the accommodation, but Faro airport was being renovated so very poor experience here which lead to delays departing - this meant lots of people said they would stay in a different part of Portugal / go somewhere else in future... Overall: Average accommodation, very good apartment, but rude staff and large noisy groups. Will not be staying here again.More
Superb value for money in a great location
Great visit for one week. Stayed across the road from reception in the Cerro Mar Atlantico apartment block. Apartments were spacious, very clean and had everything we wanted. The kitchen area was great and included an oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Our block had its own swimming pool that we used on different occasions. Despite their not being loads of sun beds we never failed to get ones. The busier and main pool was in the main block. Again we never failed to get 5 sun beds together at any time of the day. The only criticism was the pool temperature. Cold is the fairest word! The location of the hotel is superb, perched just above the old town. Yes there are steps down but if you do your homework you know about these ahead of the visit so cannot complain. All in all a great stay.More
Disappointed - Spoilt by large noisy groups
We have stayed here several times but it was noticeable there were more groups of hen and stag parties which spoilt the quiet family feel. Drunken behaviour around the pool and noisy groups coming home early hours of morning when families have young children not ideal. It is a lovely hotel with good rooms and very pleasant staff - seems a shame.More
I reviewed this hotel last year and was so pleased with our stay we returned again this year as a family of 4. Myself, my husband, 20 yr old son and 16 yr old daughter. We stayed at the Atlantico which is at the top of the hill. Last year we stayed in apartment 112 on the ground floor. This year apartment 311 on the 3rd floor. This year's apartment was much smaller than last year and in comparison we were not as happy. The kitchen was great, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob, plates, cutlery, posts, pans etc. The lounge/ dining area was ok. 4 of us staying but only 1, 3 seater sofa so we could not all sit together and watch TV or have a drink together. As it was a chaise style sofa we turned it round to try and make it a 4 seater to find rubbish and food underneath from previous occupiers. My husband and I took the ensuite bedroom with a double bed. No mirror, no dressing table, broken shower cubicle and the toilet is squeezed into a gap between the shower and wall that is so small it was almost impossible to use if you are female. The bathroom wall was covered in hairs of all lengths and colours from top to bottom. I counted at least 30 hairs. Cracked floor tile right by the toilet and cracked wall tiles, all seemed warn and tired. The bedroom had lots of wardrobe space and 2 bedside tables but the bed was horrendous. The mattress was so uncomfortable and every tiny movement could be felt and caused the mattress to shudder and vibrate. The slightest of movements felt like an earthquake which made sleep almost impossible and anything else completely out of the question. The second bedroom had 2 single beds which were equally uncomfortable. One of the beds had numerous hairs on the sheets and my daughter refused to sleep in it so slept on the sofa instead. Again plenty of wardrobe space, a broken safe, dressing table with no mirror or stall and a separate full length mirror. The second bathroom was a much better layout and bigger. Bath with shower and shower curtain. Toilet, bidet, sink mirror, hairdryer and a big surface for toiletries. Balcony had table, 4 chairs, airer, a lovely side view of old town and the sea, lovely for the sun late afternoon and evening but also next to a huge communications mast. We did complain and were offered room 503 instead which was cleaner and much better furnished but had a balcony overlooking building works and 2 double bedded rooms which was unsuitable for my son and daughter to share. We refused this room and housekeeping came to clean the problem areas and the shower was repaired the following day. Housekeeping were very polite helpful and apologetic, sadly reception didn't seem that bothered by our concerns. 2 nice pool areas, busy at times but could always get a sunbed if wanted. Communial areas appeared clean and tidy from what we saw. We had a lunch at the pool bar one day which was reasonable and tasty. Drinks rather overpriced but i suppose that's to be expected. Pool bar staff seemed a bit miserable and cold though. Lovely location with great views but a lot of stairs down to the town and beach and some of the pavement is in a dangerous state of disrepair. Complex can at times be very echoey and as all the floors are tiled, noise from other rooms can travel and be disturbing at times. Our room just seemed a bit tired, grubby, and lacked furniture. It looked as though their had been more furniture at some point as there were marked on the walls. Could do with a freshen up and some new mattresses and furnishings. It wasn't awful but definitely a disappointed compared to last year. We would certainly visit this part of Albufeira again but would look for an alternative accommodation. After our most recent stay i would say this was a very average 3 star at most by UK standards. Disappointed repeat customer. More
Spent a week at this resort and had a lovely. Was upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom apartment with a pool and sea view. Apartment very well equipped and spotless cleaned every day. Lots of steps to Old Town which I found difficult the first day but by the end of the holiday was not a problem at all. (so got me fitter!!!) Lovely helpful and obliging staff would definitely stay here again.More
