The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.
From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in 5 minutes.
Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.

2 outdoor pools
The two pools are set together on the sun terrace, surrounded by palm trees comfy loungers, with straw parasols to keep the sun at bay. The larger, curvy pool is ideal for everyone who wants to swim, splash about or just float in the sun, whilst the smaller, circular pool is ideal for the little ones.
This small friendly, heated pool provides some relieve for those who are not sun lovers, or for when the weather misbehaves. Loungers line the sides making this a good spot to chill for a while.
Monte Verde is open for breakfast and dinner, and offers a wide selection of tasty local and International cuisine.

These light and simply furnished 2 bedroom apartments come with a balcony for some extra space outside. They include a kitchen and lounge for that home-from-home feel. Plus, they include a twin bedroom, 2 extra beds, a TV, and air-conditioning.

Relaxing, quiet and all mod cons
Return visit to these apartments having visited in 2010. This time we were in the block up the hill away from the main Cera Mar Garden complex. We had booked a one bedroom and on arrival had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartments are very secure and there is ample free parking. The apartment had a living dining area, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bath and shower. The kitchen was fully equipped with integrated appliances - fridge freezer, hob and oven, washing machine and dishwasher. A sunny balcony ran the run length of the apartment with views over the pool area and down towards the sea and the old town of Albufeira. Cleaning was completed daily with fresh towels provided twice during the week. There is satellite tv with BBC1 and ITV for the news and the soaps! The main complex has an indoor pool, gym, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna that are free for guests to use. There is also a bar and restaurant at the main complex and a small shop for emergency supplies. However, Aldi and Lidl are a short walk away and if you hire a car, I recommend visiting the nearby shopping centre at Guia with Continente providing a wide range of local products - particularly wine and deli items. There are 98 steps down to reach the main square in the old town but they are shallow steps with a handrail in manageable batches that most will be able to cope with. However, with a buggy or wheel chair it might be better to use a taxi or car. There is also a courtesy bus that goes down the hill a few times per day. The complex is well situated for access to the marina, beaches and the main EN125 for visiting the local attractions. I highly recommend visiting Gale beach at sunset that is a short drive away along the road past the marina towards Pera. A great week out of season and will certainly return.More
Stag do break
We stayed here for a long weekend in October. We were a group of 9 blokes on a stag do. We arrived from the Airport at lunchtime and after a queue at check in (you check in at the Cerro Mar Garden) were told that we couldn't yet check in because the rooms were not ready, but we could leave our bags in the luggage room and come back later. After heading down to town for food we came back at 3pm to check in. We were given 3 rooms in what purported to be three separate complexes. One was 'over the road', one was 'up the hill' and the final was 'up the hill and past the shop'. It seems that this is reception for a multitude of buildings in the area that are classed as one set of apartments. Whilst we appreciate that some stag do's are pretty boisterous and they don't want them to affect their other guests, we're mostly in our 30s and we'd not come here to be put in what was effectively three separate locations. After an initial attempt to tell us that the hotel was full and that there were no more rooms we stood our ground and insisted that we wanted to be at least in the same hotel. Eventually the receptionist 'found' three rooms in the complex over the road. Finally we headed to the rooms. First thing to note is that this complex is like Fort Knox; there's a large metal gate at each end of the complex then a door to get into the block then the door to your room - each requiring to be unlocked. It's possible that some of the rooms are actually holiday homes because it didn't seem too busy. The rooms themselves were actually very good. Well apportioned size wise we had a twin room and a sofa bed in the kitchen/lounge area. The kitchen had most things you could need, except the food of course, with fridge cooker and washing machine provided. The beds were comfy, there was plenty of wardrobe space and air conditioning is provided. The bathroom was good, again of good size and facility. The room came with a balcony which had a side view of the sea in the very distance. The room was exceptionally clean and was maintained that way throughout our stay. There is a small pool in this complex but no other facilities. There is a larger pool next to the main reception in Cerro Mar Garden which you can use along with the bar and dining area. The apartments are all but at the top of the hill, there are steps down to the main square in old town - you need some stamina to get back up! The Garden Hotel does run a shuttle minibus in the daytime to the old square for those who can't walk up and down the steps. Despite the early issues with the rooms and the location we had a good time here and I would recommend, but would suggest that groups might want to try elsewhere or have someone who is quite insistent if you want to be proximate to each other.More
Stayed here recently to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday and had apartments on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor. All were fantastically equipped and located with easy access to amenities and a sea view. There are 100 steps down to the town but they were fine and didn't faze us at all. A few taxis were taken. I would deffo stay here again. More
