The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.
From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in 5 minutes.
Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.
The two pools are set together on the sun terrace, surrounded by palm trees comfy loungers, with straw parasols to keep the sun at bay. The larger, curvy pool is ideal for everyone who wants to swim, splash about or just float in the sun, whilst the smaller, circular pool is ideal for the little ones.
These light and simply furnished 2 bedroom apartments come with a balcony for some extra space outside. They include a kitchen and lounge for that home-from-home feel. Plus, they include a twin bedroom, 2 extra beds, a TV, and air-conditioning.

October half term break, we were in 107, a bit of a trek but well worth it. Lovely sea view and close to the pool. Superb kitchen (like new) with everything you could need. Cleaned every day inc clean towels daily. Stayed in Atlantico and Cerro mar gardens both great. Easy walk to Lidl which is so much better than the Aldi for choice. We can recommend Shalom11 restaurant near square, fantastic food also if you are feeling energetic The Cockerel Country Kitchen up the escalator and a few km walk (or take tourist train) well worth looking up before you go. Perfect hotel, area and beach for a late break.More
Nice place in a good setting
We stayed here in earlier october for 10 nights with Jet2 holidays. My husband had stayed at this same hotel for his stag do in March this year as well.
We stayed at the altantico building and i will say it is not really a stag do hotel, although we saw some parties when we were there. Instead we had the invasion of the scots due to the World Cup game been played in Faro.
The apartments are set high above the hill in old town albufeira. There isn't any bars or anything next to your apartment but tons in old town which is down the steps. Personally they aren't bad at all. We never got a taxi - the quene for taxi's to longer than the walk back up the steps. There are two different routes as well - the main steps and round the corner 'cat avenue' steps - all the cats come and see you on a night as the locals feed them there.
We stayed in room 402 - room itself was lovely, full kitchen, living room, nice bedroom and lovely baloncy. So the downside - we were the first room on the main entrance so our balcony was on the same level as the path so everyone was looking at you while you had your dinner, and the noise from the outside door/people on a night was awful. Due to the aformentioned footie match they were move than a few people coming back at 3am worse for wear and shouting. The bathroom was right next to the door so you could hear people coming and going while you were doing your thing... not the best
The gardens are beautiful and very well taken care of. The whole place is spotless.
You have a variety of pools to chose from in the 4 different buildings. Our pool was 'meh' mainly because of the postion of the buildings you only get sun at certain sides unless you go down to the grass area. Around the top pool you lose sun at about 2.30/3pm. I'm a sun worshipper and we'd had some pants weather so getting the most sunbathing hours is important to me. I'd suggest you go over the road to the gardens - tons of sun beds and plenty for all day sunshine. We used the bar there as well - good prices and nice staff.
We used the gym and spa - very nice ( swimming cap thing is odd). The bowling alley was not working.
Location is great for old town - it;s a 30min walk to New Town - if you like a full on strip type of atmosphere that is the area for you - personally not to my taste.
Overall a nice holiday and great for families - i would come back.
P.S if you go wiht Jet2 - no rep service, and no notice board so you are on your own. We had to log on to the internet to find our pick up time. No sure why i paid for a package holiday when there is no packaged service.More
Well equiped apartments. 2 squash courts and tennis court
Nice apartments in three separate blocks, all with their own pools. Set on a steep hill above the old town. Eating and drinking out is cheap and there is an Aldi and Lidl a few minutes walk away. apartments are well equiped with full oven and hob, large fridge freezer, washer, dishwasher and coffee machine.
The main clock has indoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, 2 squash courts and tennis court. Food in the main restaurant was average (no fresh veg), tried it once, then ate out or cooked our own.
On the day we left the old town was really badly flooded, however it did not affect the Cerro Mar as it is up on the hill.More
We had a great time here in apartment 508 across the road from reception. It was immaculate with a huge terrace with views over the old town to the sea. The kitchen was beautifully equipped. My grandson loved the pools and having the indoor pool was a bonus as it rained on a few days. Breakfast was great too;lots of choice and great value. On the whole the staff were good but there are a few grumpy ones to be avoided. We shall definitely be booking for next year. By the way, there are 95 steps into town!
Cerro Mar Colina Apartments, Albufeira, Portugal
We have recently returned from a 7 night stay in Albufeira, Portugal. We stayed at the CERRO MAR COLINA APARTMENTS. Our apartment was on the first floor, had a spacious balcony and overlooked the swimming pool, which, i must add, also had a swim up bar included!! The apartment had one bedroom, with large twin beds and a pull out bed in the main living area. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped and even had a dishwasher and washing machine. Bathroom consisted of a shower, bath, toilet and bidet and, again, was exceptionally clean and spacious. The main living room had a leather sofa (with pull out trundle bed), one chair and a dining room table/chairs. The maid service within the complex is second to non, they visit everyday and keep the apartments spotless. As the apartments are at the top of a hill overlooking the resort, to reach the town square, where everything happens, you either have to take a taxi (5 euros) or use the dreaded steps. There are 103 altogether but please don't let this put you off as they are easy peasy. They are well spaced out and it takes roughly 5 mins there and for the brave, after eating and drinking, 5 mins back, maybe 10 at the outside. When you reach the town square, there are a huge number of restaurants and cocktail bars, etc all offering much the same menu wise. Only complaint i have is that it was difficult to try and read a menu without the staff trying to entice you inside, bit of a pain! Average price for a large beer was 2.5 euros, large coke 3.5 euros, large koppaberg cider between 3.5 - 4 euros and fresh orange juice around 3.5 euros. We ate out every night but have to say the restaurants just slightly out of the main square are of a more personable nature and definitely cheaper. Try SHALOM, absolutely fantastic. We had hot and spicy ribs, chicken curry, burger and a barbecue chicken dish, all had garlic bread starters, drinks and 3 desserts and the bill was approximately 57 euros, total bargain for quality food and the staff were really friendly too. There are a few stalls around the outside of the square, with artists doing paintings, caricatures, etc and if you get to see the puppet show, its really fab, very entertaining. There are very few local supermarkets around but within a 10/15 minute walk of the apartment you will find a Aldi and Lidl. We didn't use Lidl but the Aldi was well stocked with usual holiday necessities, water, bread, not forgetting beer - 6 pack for 1.99 euros, another bargain. There are two more different apartment blocks within the complex and you can use the facilities at them all. There is an indoor pool within the CERRO MAR GARDENS and a games room which includes, pool, and 10 pin bowling alley. There is no wifi within the COLINA but it is available at the main reception (situated with CERRO MAR GARDENS.
Cant recommend these apartments enough, spacious, well equipped, clean and modern, waht more could you want. Portugal is a beautiful place and we will definitely be returning sometime soon.More
