Hotel Falesia

A tropical garden setting gives the Hotel Falesia a really private feel. It’s also got a big TripAdvisor following, and it was rated in the top three hotels in Albufeira for the past three years.

The Hotel Falesia’s good-looking gardens set the scene for a terrace-framed pool and al fresco dining area. Beyond the gardens is a sandy beach and some of Portugal’s best golf courses.

This hotel does things in style, with a smart restaurant and a spa offering a range of treatments. Upgrade room options include junior suites stocked with little extras like bathrobes and slippers.

Fab Falesia

Falesia Hotel, Acoteias (Thompson 4 star Gold) Duration: 15-22 October 2015 Half board (breakfast and Dinner) Booked with Thompsons Have read many reviews stating how quiet this area is so I really need to stress the points below 1. ‘Acoteias is NOT a resort, but a residential area. There are excellent transport links to all the major ‘tourist areas’, and also the area has shops etc 2) The Falesia hotel is ‘Adults only’ (for guest 16 years and over). Although I must admit when I heard ‘Adults Only’ I was beginning to wonder what kind of holiday we have booked (haha). The guests are more mature, relaxed and during our stay we encountered some really lovely people and standout characters who made the stay enjoyable and amusing. Arrival - We arrived early afternoon, offered a free drink on arrival. Checking in took a while as there were a lot of us. Given a voucher to have lunch (the lunch was 8 euros each). To be honest I didn’t mind paying as I was very hungry by then. The lunch was a buffet and very delicious. Rooms - Room is spacious and clean, had air conditioning, balcony view is gorgeous. There was complimentary bottle of water, a kettle, hot drink and sugar sachets and milk. These were replenished daily. (except for the water). Unless it was just our room but the door cards also powered the electricity. If you rent a fridge (use the other card to keep the electricity on constantly). We used one card, opened the door with it then popped in the slot on the wall for electric (good idea for the ladies that forget to plug out their straighteners ha ha Staff - Polite, helpful courteous and couldn’t do enough. A credit not only to the hotel but also to Thompson. Thomson Reps – Laura and Chris - OMG they are both adorable and look so young (or am I just getting old haha). They are very helpful and informative and I loved the ‘welcome meeting’. Hotel - Has free wifi, which to me worked better in the rooms or the foyer. The hotel is really nice, airy and set in beautiful grounds which are so tranquil. I was not sure if it was because of the time of year, but there were an abundance of sun loungers and the has so many little areas were one could escape from the main area of the pool . The entertainment was a little too “old” for me.. but it was probably in keeping with what the guests wanted. Yes at times the entertainment near the pool was noisy but to be honest I was so relaxed I just didn’t care. There is a room to watch TV and generally relax and chit chat with the other guests and there is also the show bar where the live acts perform. Food was delicious and the views out the restaurant window are gorgeous. Note for the evening meal gentleman are to wear long trousers. I like this rule. Hotel has indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi. We were in the Jacuzzi nearly every day The hotel runs a free courtesy to the Falesia beach (you can walk to the beach but I was too lazy to do it ). It’s a nice beach and you can walk for miles (one couple said they walked to Vilamoura from the Falesia beach (I wasn’t about to be that ambitious ha ha) . We walked to the Pine Cliffs restaurant and had a drink (by that time I was gasping) and then walked back in time to watch a young hand glider off the beach cliffs .. that was amazing. A couple we got chatting to said it was their 10th time at the Falesia and that they were returning next year Excursions There are many trips that Thompson run from the hotel which you need to contact the reps about. We booked for one to Lisbon. It was an early start in the morning (6.10). Our guide Christina was superb, I was in awe of the beauty of Lisbon. Had such a lovely day only wished that we stayed the night and spent a day exploring. Lisbon is a beautiful city with some amazing buildings. The hotel also does a bus to Albufeira and Vilamoura (about 5 euros each). We decided to catch the public bus to Old/New town Albufeira , walked around for a bit, went to the beach and also took the Tourist “ Noddy train” to explore and try something different . for some reason it made me laugh so much, it was rickety and cute.. love it. We hit the party strip, and to be honest it was like any other holiday resort club strip, lots of bars restaurants, souvenir shops and pretty 20 somethings, drunk and happy, but we still had a good time even if it did rain. Vilamoura marina was gorgeous, walked around for while. The views are stunning indeed. We walked back round and caught a transparent lift to a roof top bar called ‘side bar’ which has lovely views of the marina. All in all we had a superb time. I would thoroughly recommend the Falesia hotel. Acoteias is not far from all the main areas that people want to visit. I am really glad that we stayed there as it was an area that I had never heard anyone mention. Thank you to manager Carlos, all the Staff at Falesia Hotel, Laura and Chris (Thompson reps). We truly had an excellent holiday.More

Not quite as good as we expected, but OK for a quiet break

Having been told by a few people at my golf club that this hotel was "the best" me and my wife thought it was OK, but not exceptional - which goes to reinforce the individuality of opinions I suppose. I hope that the following genuine observations help.....I have tried to be fair with 4 stars.... Good: The hotel is not too big, not too small - nice pool area, quiet gardens, decent rooms ( a refurb was underway while we were there, so expect improvements). A relatively quiet location means it is a peaceful place to be whilst reading a book or with the headphones in. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good if not exceptional and drinks were good quality and not too expensive (cheaper at the local bar if you are that way inclined!) As a Thomson Gold holiday the entertainment was 50:50 - some acts were OK, particularly the traditional folk dancing night and the Adele tribute - some not so good (a bit "cheesy"...) Poor: The location basically. The beach is accessible either via the adjacent Sheraton hotel or a walk to the left down the main road and a dirt track, but either way it takes about 25/35 minutes and while we were there the beaches were absolutely rammed with people (apparently not just locals but Spaniards travel over). We had been looking forward to sampling Algarve beaches, but we were disappointed. The hotel is nowhere near a town, with just a few bars, supermarkets and restaurants in a short strip on the main road by the hotel, so nowhere really to have a "mooch" - we did walk about 40 minutes to the nearest town, which was OK if nothing special, again with a small, crowded beach. So overall a relaxing break in thankfully good weather, but we will not be rushing back to the Falesia....More

great, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful hotel, best food

I was thinking more than 1 month before i booked this hotel on and after a choose because of the very good feedbacks, and im really satisfied with my decision. It was very quiet, relaxed, the food was delicious and varied, the staff was very friendly, fast and helpful. The location was great but 5-10 minutes far from the bay, this is the only negative thing what i can say, but i can recommend this very nice hotel for everyone who likes to have relax..:) The hotel was not crowed, and we really enjoyed our 7th anniversary in this hotel.More

The hotel is in a great location (convenient for the local supermarkets, car hire and restaurants.) The room was adequate - although the décor, fixtures and furnishings were 'tired' (I understand they are refurbishing to re-open in 2016.) The staff were unfailingly welcoming and generous with their time and 'can-do' attitudes. The food, however, was awful! If you like cafeteria-style, chips-with-everything catering then you'll enjoy this experience. Quantity over quality in every instance: masses of dishes heaped high on the salad and dessert bars while the cooked meat dishes were, on the whole, inedible and indistinguishable from each other. Cringe-worthy evening entertainment and pool-side activities (delivered - loudly - by energetic staff using a microphone, so there was no escape from the racket.)More
