Hotel Falesia

A tropical garden setting gives the Hotel Falesia a really private feel. It’s also got a big TripAdvisor following, and it was rated the best hotel in Albufeira in 2013.

The Hotel Falesia’s good-looking gardens set the scene for a terrace-framed pool and al fresco dining area. Beyond the gardens is a sandy beach and some of Portugal’s best golf courses.

This hotel does things in style, with a smart restaurant and a spa offering a range of treatments. Upgrade room options include junior suites stocked with little extras like bathrobes and slippers.

Felt like a Cruise ship

Falessia Hotel – Algarve Portugal OK hotel, nice pool, would not go back or recommend to other younger persons . We were driving from Faro to the hotel and found it very difficult to locate we attempted to call three different contact numbers, we were later told these no longer were working. Our room was a bit dated but clean, we were charged for the use of the safe and they don’t provide irons you must send out your shirts. Found the staff in restaurants to be short bordering on slightly rude. Front desk staffs were helpful in helping us get a taxi and give driving directions pleasant but not amazing, the map we were given was a photo copy of the back of the Algarve tourist guide book. The hotel is a short walk to some local restaurants and has a shuttle to the beach (except that it ends at 1700), and sadly we were never informed about the beach shuttle. Dinner is long pants only for men in the evening people are encouraged to be dressier and then go to the lounge were they have shows. Felt like being on a cruise, no in hotel food options available after 900 pm. Pool closes at 800 pm It would appear that this hotel is dedicated to a particular mature traveler not interested in exploring the local area or culture. More

Highly recommended

Great hotel with a good team of staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are all very friendly. The hotel is in the process of a refurbishment to the rooms, however the room we had has not as yet been refurbished but was in no way shabby. The bathroom was a little tired but very clean. We had a junior suit which was well worth the extra as it was very big with a sofa for relaxing in. The food was amazing with plenty of choice and head chef Carlos makes an amazing Portugase bread and butter pudding! Would return to this hotel again and highly recommend.More

"Our Second visit" and Just as great as the first !

Ola...... We have just returned from a second visit to this Hotel. Enjoyed this trip just as much as we did the first time. One week only this trip, fab weather - long sandy beach close by. Hubby likes to relax unwind and chill and he really enjoys the excellent food in the evening. Entertainment proved good once again, we saw Andy Eastwood - what a musician on the Banjelelli - the William Tell Overture was utterly brilliant, Caz Davis - female singer - my favourite - power house of a voice, The Bottles a Beatles tribute, Lee Lard comedian, Steve Shappell singer/comedian, local Portuguese dancers, Harper Brothers singers and comedy very lively - the residential duo were Cover Flow. We had room 322 junior suite, a very nice room - happy with that - we would have it again. Hotel is planning renovations after this season, we would love to return next year to check them out - apparently bedrooms and bathrooms. Being a returning guest we enjoyed a platter of cut fresh fruit in our room with wine and then a mini bottle of Port and chocolates - yum. :o) BBQ night was very good as is the food the whole of the time. You can start breakfast with champagne every morning should you wish - and why not ? The catering here plus ALL the staff - those that are seen and those that work behind the scenes deserve a word of credit here. New addition this year is Maria Eduarda, very confident personality, friendly and perfect for front of house and working with the guests - excellent English, but credit to everyone from the baby faced larger than life chef Angelo who is always smiling seems to me ...... to everyone working as part of the catering team. Rooms and Hotel are spotless, linen/towels/rooms and communal areas are very clean - well done housekeeping. All the staff here have a genuine, kind, caring and professional manner - not false for the tourist but really seem to take an interest in you. The Thomson team were very good also. I would love to go back next year to see the changes - watch this space as they say.More

Hotel Falesia, Algarve

Went for a weeks break through Thomson Gold to Hotel Falesia. The Hotel is a lovely place very quiet and relaxing, the staff are the nicest people we've had the pleasure to stay on holiday with anywhere. Contrary to a few reviews we thought the food was great, with lots of variety to select from. The Thomson entertainments team worked very hard and were up against a pretty difficult audience of mainly 'mature' unresponsive audiences, we noted the sudden departure of Ryan from the team who we considered doing a grand job there, hope he's okay. Too many staff to pick out, the cleaning staff deserve praise and we really enjoyed the cocktails and atmosphere at the pool bar with Armen in situ. The grounds are lovely. The local beaches are fantastic and we spent most of our time at the beach at the next small town along, where there were bars and restaurants aplenty. Minor criticisms are that Falesia is frequented by many very mature and quiet people so it may not suit everyone with no alternative entertainment nearby outside the hotel itself, but if you want relaxation, great food and wonderful service then Falesia will do the job.More

Hotel (Fabulous) Falesia

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing break and this was our third year in a row and the staff and the hotel never let us down. When we arrived Chris the Thomson Rep welcomed us and as it was his first year he should be commended for his knowledge and helpfulness. Sylvia on reception remembered us from previous visits and made us fell like we were coming home. The Hotel is set in lovely well maintained grounds and is very clean throughout. The rooms are a bit dated are bit dated but they are being refurbished at the end of the year which will only enhance the holiday experience. We had room 207 which is a Junior Suite and over looks both the pool and gardens. We took the fridge option which cost an extra 2.5 euros a day which was nice to keep our drinks cool. The hotel food is excellent with a good choice of food both at breakfast and dinner. The Chef Angelo makes sure that everyone is happy and evens makes bread and butter pudding with custard ( His slimline version he mocks). The restaurant staff are very friendly and most have worked there for a long time Sonia has been there 20 years! We would especially like to thank all the staff there including Bella, Sofia and Paulo {who is very funny and game for a laugh). At night the entertainment was not as good as previous years but we enjoyed the local Portuguese band and the Beatles Tribute Band the Bottles and the Thomson girls did host well. Most nights we sat outside by the Pool Bar enjoying a cocktail or two made by Armen ( ''Good Morning'', '' I'll Be Back'') a very entertaining guy, a good move by the bar manager to put him out there. Overall we can't fault the hotel and can't wait to return to see the refurbished rooms and spend another couple of weeks relaxing in this wonderful place. Thanks also to Carlos the General Manager for ensuring that all runs smoothly. See you all soon!!! MikeMore
