Staying at the Luna Holiday Complex is about being close to the water. The top spot to spend a day in the sun is the rooftop pool. It’s a long thin stretch of turquoise that offers uninterrupted views out to sea. Another pool is found at ground level – it’s backed by the building and has a poolside bar in high season.
Inside, the reception’s a polished space of marble with neutral tones and a wooden trim finish. The apartments, meanwhile, are simply decked out but bright and airy. Colours vary from moss-greens to floral patterns and in-rooms specs include kitchenettes, fans and balconies. There’s also the option of upgrading to a Superior Studio with nice-to-have upgrades like air-conditioning and satellite TVs.
Location-wise, you’re again near to the water. This time of the sea and sand variety. The nearest beach is only two or three minutes’ walk away. There are also a few restaurants within easy walking distance. The main village of Mellieha, meanwhile, is about a 15 minute stroll uphill where you’ll find a wider variety of restaurants and bars.

spared - before a woman came to replace the linen. It may be worthy of note that we left the sofa bed unfolded (as we had been fiddling with it) and as a result we yielded a whole extra set of bedding from the process. Also nothing was stolen so all... more on this review
