An introduction to Villa Il Pittore
Built over 150 years ago, the 'painter's villa' has been the family home to the current owner, Alessio, for generations.
Transformed into two semi-detached, split-level but completely independent cottages, Alessio, his wife Marzia and their young son, occupy the stone-clad side while the Tuscan yellow cottage is for guests. Pretty furnishings and fittings have been carefully selected by Alessio's mother, Anna Maria, who looks after the cottage and guests.
The cottage has its own private patio and garden and, as Alessio and his wife are usually at work or away, guests often have all the grounds and the pool to themselves. Tasty meals can be grilled on the barbecue then eaten in the shady gazebo and during the season fruit can be picked from the orchard.
The village of Vitolini is just 1km away and has a handful of shops, whilst Vinci (just 5km away and the birthplace of Leonardo) offers a good choice of shops and restaurants as well as two Leonardo museums. It takes only 30 minutes to reach Florence and an hour to the sea, so Villa Il Pittore is the perfect place to enjoy both relaxation and plenty of sightseeing.
