Hotel Collefertile

Collefertile is located high on Mount Giovi, upon the slopes of the Apennines, which divide Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna and there is only this small agriturismo hotel to distract from the beauty and peacefulness of its environs.

Glorious country walks may be enjoyed in the surrounding woods of oak, pine and chestnut. The restaurant menu reflects the seasons, and may have porcini mushrooms, truffles and chestnuts in the autumn when available,and offers the flavours of typical Tuscan cuisine with handmade pasta, tortellini and ravioli. Cookery courses are available to learn these gastronomic traditions, subject to demand. Collefertile's organic farm breeds Limousin cows and wild fowl (partridge and pheasant).

Collefertile has 15 rooms consisting of 12 doubles, 2 suites and 1 junior suite located in the central house, a neighbouring converted barn and in a cottage (approximately 1km away). The furnishings make use of local materials and provide guests with all modern comforts. The beautiful swimming pool and tennis court are situated between the house and the cottage.

The Mugello region offers visitors the opportunity to visit the many castles and elegant villas of the Medici era. The town of Barberino is a 30 to 40 minute drive away and the impressive Scarperia is within a 20 to 30 minute drive. Florence can be reached in under an hour.
