Macinatico Uno - Timo

These authentically styled apartments have superb views, a large pool and a great location close to San Gimignano. Macinatico Uno is a traditional Tuscan stone building, with a terracotta-tiled roof and heavy wooden shutters. You have a choice of 2 apartments here – Alloro and Timo. Both can sleep up to 6 people, with a twin bedroom and 2 double bedrooms with en suite shower rooms. The décor is authentically Italian, with colourful walls, chunky dark-wood furniture and wrought-iron bedsteads. Each apartment has a large lounge-come-dining room with a modern kitchenette in one corner. The kitchenettes are well-equipped, with an oven, hob and fridge, and you can buy some locally made goods from the owners – the property neighbours a working farm that produces wine and olive oil. Outside each apartment is a terrace area with a dining table and chairs.

Next to the apartments is a large, shared swimming pool. It’s framed by pretty gardens, with lawns, olive trees and terracotta pots overflowing with cherry-red flowers. Loungers and parasols are laid out for guests to use.

The apartments are set on a hillside, with views across rolling hills zigzagged with vineyards. In the distance, you can spot San Gimignano’s Medieval towers. If you want to see them up close, the town is 10 minutes away by car.
