So lavish has been the conversion of 'I Massini', from wine cellars and labourers' accommodation for a major wine estate, into 11 sumptuous one and two-bedroom villas and apartments, that it would be difficult to find such comfort and beautifully tended grounds in a five-star hotel!

Emerald lawns, ranks of flowers and shrubs, a magnificent swimming pool, a splendid sun terrace, an ornamental pond and a floodlit tennis court compliment the luxurious accommodation. The charming receptionist willingly assists with useful tips and information to help to make your stay carefree.

I Massini provides the perfect retreat for those in search of all the creature comforts while being in the perfect position to explore the countryside and cities of art. I Massini's interior decor is as ornate as it is luxurious (including cooling ceiling fans), however, the traditional elements - 'cotto' floors and wooden beams - have not been forgotten. The apartment selected for Simply guests has two bedrooms, a luxurious bathroom and a large dining terrace.

There are some shops and restaurants in the little villages of Casanuove and Pozzale, about 5 kilometres away, including 'Trattoria Sciabolino' - may be closed some weeks in August.

I Massini is delightfully peaceful and surrounded by lovely countryside and yet the Pisa-Florence superstrada is just a few minutes away by car so connections to both these cities and much of Tuscany could hardly be better.
