An introduction to La Casetta
Ensconced in an idyllic wooded valley a few kilometres below Coreglia Antelminelli, La Casetta is a dreamy little cottage full of rustic country charm. The cottage is adjacent to Il Vecchio Mulino, but both cottages are very private as they do not overlook each other.
Cotto floors, beamed ceilings and antique furniture create a suitably rustic ambience but modern fitted kitchen units and well-sprung mattresses ensure that your contemporary creature comforts are not neglected. The living-dining room on the ground floor has an open-plan kitchenette and also on this floor is a twin/double bedroom and the bathroom, with an additional separate shower. Open wooden stairs lead up to the second twin/double bedroom on the first floor.
The pretty fenced garden, with its well-kept lawn, is surrounded by leafy woods and has a shady pergola overlooking the swimming pool. It is a gloriously tranquil spot to while away those blissfully lazy days when even the fascinating medieval towns of Lucca and Barga can't lure you away from this rural idyll.

Stayed here in July and found the accommodation to be both comfortable and spotless. The house is down a pretty long and incredibly bumpy track. While it is close to the village of Coreglia, the road down from the village is not really walkable at... more on this review
