An introduction to Casa Manu
Casa Manu combines the rustic charm of a simple country cottage with the luxury of a private pool - the best of both worlds. Reached along a rough track through the woods above the village of Coreglia Antelminelli, Casa Manu is a completely private retreat.
Spread out below is the spectacular panorama of the mountainous chain of the Apuan Alps, to whose steep slopes little medieval villages cling.
The pool, set on a grassy terrace above the house and bordered by lavender, enjoys the best of this vista. Casa Manu comprises not just one stone-built cottage, but two adjacent ones, with an independent spacious double room and bathroom in the second cottage forming a perfect nook for those requiring extra independence. The main cottage comprises a sitting room with an open fireplace, which can be welcome when the evenings are chillier in spring and autumn. The large ground floor kitchen-diner is well equipped, while an open wooden stairway leads up to the first floor bedrooms. Outside on the patio, under the shade of an evergreen oak, is a stone table for enjoying barbecues.
Casa Manu is owned and looked after (with the help of his charming daughter) by one of Coreglia's 'personalities', whose friendliness and determination to please has delighted guests of his other cottages, Il Vecchio Mulino and La Casetta.
