Sitting just off the main pedestrian street of Corso Umberto in charming Taormina, the Oasi Apartments sit right at the heart of Sicilian life. It's just a few minutes stroll to the town's quaint antique shops, designer boutiques and authentic restaurants. And you can also tick off historical sights like the cathedral and Taormina Greek Theatre. Even the coast's toasted sands are only a 15-minute drive away.



When relaxation beckons though, these traditional and comfortable apartments are the perfect escape. Step through the Oasi's wrought-iron gate to a truly peaceful retreat. Surrounded by a high stone wall, this pale-pink villa has a paved terrace dotted with citrus trees. A turn-of-the-century building, it's been lovingly renovated into two self-contained apartments.



With lots of character, the decor is typically Sicilian with a real home-from-home feel. Cue tiled flooring, whitewashed walls and traditional furnishings. The villa's ground floor houses the one-bedroom apartment. Light and airy, the roomy lounge has an open fire and lovely arched doorways that lead out onto the terrace. There's also a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a dining area and a restful double bedroom.



For larger parties, there's a two-bedroom apartment on the lower ground floor. An open-plan design, the cool lounge area has a comfy sofa and armchair, the kitchen has all the mod cons you need and there's also a handy dining area. And there are two bathrooms and two peaceful bedrooms, one of which is a double. Like the other apartment, it also has doors out onto a private terrace.



For a homely getaway in the Sicilian sunshine, the Oasi Apartments really are la dolce vita.
