Casa Dellagave

Located just a couple of minutes' drive from Fontane Bianche's sandy beach and with direct access to the crystal clear sea below, Casa dell'Agave is the perfect retreat for water lovers.

As the neighbouring villas are only used as holiday homes you may find that the only sounds you hear outside August are those of the waves breaking on the rocks. Ideal for families with older children or a group of friends, the villa boasts a huge terrace with wonderful sea views, perfect for relaxing on while reading a book or eating al fresco.

Inside, the villa has been furnished by the owners Lidia and Vincenza in a fresh and contemporary style with traditional touches such as ceramic tiles from Caltagirone and Sicilian artefacts. The large, airy living room is decorated in white and blue with comfy sofas and a fireplace. The three bedrooms are simply furnished with valuables collected by Vincenza from her many trips around the world while colourful paintings by Lidia using the art of 'pittura sottovero' (painted backwards on a glass panel) adorn the walls. The spacious white kitchen is fully- equipped to host big parties with plenty of cutlery and colourful plates.

From the kitchen or the outside terrace about 20 stone steps lead down to the garden filled with different varieties of cactus including the typical Mexican Agave (from which Tequila is made), the villa's namesake. Air-conditioning is not something needed in this beautiful corner of Sicily as there is a refreshing sea breeze conveniently blowing at the hottest time of the day.
