Casa Gingi

Peacefully yet conveniently situated just a short stroll from Porto Rafael's little square and the beach, Casa Gingi is an attractive villa that offers all the comfort and charm of a real family home. Guests have three lovely terraces - including a roof terrace to choose from, so the house is as suited to al fresco living in the height of summer as it is to cooler evenings in early and late season, when the cosy interiors will be most appreciated. Cotto-tiled and bamboo-shaded, the main terrace off the living room borders smooth granite rocks and offers just a glimpse of the sea. The roof terrace has the best views, while the little terrace off the master bedroom is almost completely concealed under swathes of purple bougainvillaea and is thus a wonderfully private retreat. As the house is split-level it is more suitable for families with older children.

Inside, a fine, whitewashed fireplace and a couple of steps separate the comfortable living area from the semi-circular dining room with its pretty mural depicting the lighthouse of Palau. The jolly kitchen with its White units and blue and yellow tiles is well-equipped and comes complete with a full cooker and a large fridge-freezer. On a lower level, the master double bedroom has a splendid, pale-blue tiled en suite bathroom with a proper bath tub - a relative luxury in Sardinia! The second double bedroom and a third room with twin beds are both served by a shower room. Casa Gingi is the ideal holiday home for friends, two couples or a family with older children.
