Sitting demurely in gorgeous green countryside, the Stelle Marine is a holiday hideaway you'll most definitely want to keep a secret. Looking out to the sapphire-blue seas, it's the perfect place to recharge your batteries. In fact those twinkling waters, which wash soft, honey-coloured sands, are just a five minute stroll down a private pathway - or even quicker on the hotel's shuttle bus. So you won't have to choose between the beach and the pool. This place isn't all about location, location, location though. From the minute you set eyes on this pretty complex, you probably won't want to go far.
Hidden among cushiony-green trees and gorgeous flower-filled gardens, the accommodation is sprinkled around the attractive grounds in little blocks. Pale peach low-rise buildings with terracotta-tiled roofs house the beautiful bedrooms. Decorated in a simplistic yet modish Sardinian style, with creamy-vanilla furnishings and traditionally tiled floors, they are delightfully restful. And all come with air-conditioning, satellite television and a private terrace or balcony. This elegant theme continues throughout the hotel – from the classy piano bar, with its sink-into sofas, to the swanky restaurant and its awe-inspiring sea views.
Step outside and the Stelle is just as impressive. At the heart of its pin-drop peaceful gardens you'll find the pool area. Sunk into a striking patio, there's a separate whirlpool bath and the pool itself is flanked by sun loungers and parasols. And if you're travelling with little ones, there's a children's pool close by. When you tire of tanning, though, there's plenty to keep you busy. Hire a bike and set off on a ride through the stunning scenery. Dive into the watersports at one of the beaches a little down the coast. Or hop on a boat trip to the nearby La Maddalena Islands, a national park famous for their beguiling beaches. The Stelle Marine is the ultimate Sardinian escape: just remember to keep it under your sunhat.
