Masseria Don Sante was built by the Sante Conti family in 1821 and preserves all the typical aspects of a Pugliese masseria. The hotel, set in acres of olive trees, is peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are basic and comfortable and would be ideal as a base for couples - the bedrooms are on the first floor and are reached by an open external staircase of fifteen steps. The Masseria Don Sante is family run and boasts a waiter service restaurant serving a number of excellent local specialities cooked with many ingredients produced on the farm. Due to the stairway to the bedrooms this hotel may not be suitable for the less mobile.
You can play a game of tennis here (payable locally) and there's also a playground for the children. If you fancy a drive out along the attractive coastline there's a shingle beach just a few minutes away with private lidos and sunbeds. The Masseria Don Sante is at the centre of a great tourist area where there are many interesting places to visit such as Grotte di Castellana where you will find the most exciting and fascinating caves in Italy and Alberobello, famous for its Trulli (whitewashed conical shape roof dwellings).
