An introduction to Hotel La Solara
As secluded spots go, this one takes some beating. A world away from the lively streets of Sorrento – three kilometres to be precise – La Solara sits at the top of a hill and is entirely cocooned by trees. It's extremely peaceful, making it perfect if you just want to get away from it all. While it may be a modern hotel, La Solara manages to retain a real sense of Italian elegance. The focal point is the Olympic-sized swimming pool - there's a raised sun terrace where you can melt away into a world of your own without being disturbed by people in the water. There's also a lemon grove garden where you can relax under the shade of a tree. Interestingly, the hotel's probably one of our largest in terms of the ground it covers but with only 54 guestrooms, it never feels overly busy - guests have their own dining tables and the staff are incredibly attentive. All in all, there's a lovely personal touch about this place. The piece de resistance, however, has to be the food. It's out of this world. No wonder it regularly scores 100% in our Customer Satisfaction Questionnaires. Each night there's a set menu that's made up of local Neapolitan dishes as well as more famous Italian ones. What's more, the restaurant itself is gorgeous with large bay windows offering up pretty evening views over the mountain valley down to the sea. Likewise the bedrooms are rather special, combining modern facilities like Wi-Fi with small finishing touches like inlaid wooden furniture. All in all, La Solara ticks all the right holiday boxes. So much so that it's won hoards of our Gold Awards. In fact there's not enough room left on the wall for them. Need we say more?

La solara was first class from the rooms to the pool everything was spotlessly clean and welcoming the staff were very freindly and welcoming and were willing to make your holiday memorable and fun. We went on the trip to capri and amalfi drive both... more on this review
