The Hotel Carlton has an impressive swimming pool, which is surrounded by hedge-lined terraces and sunchairs. There’s an open-air bar, too, making it a great spot for unwinding. Plus, you’ll find plenty of hideaway corners in the gardens, which are filled with orange and lemon trees.
Location-wise, the hotel is in a prime spot next to the shops, bars and restaurants of Piazza Tasso. Plus, Sorrento’s railway station and port are just ten minutes’ walk away.
Bedrooms are large and traditional in style, with balconies overlooking the pool and hills. Upgrade to a sea-facing room, meanwhile, and you’re treated to views over the sea and Mount Vesuvius.
As for food, there’s a classical-looking restaurant serving buffet breakfasts. The weekly gala nights are grand affairs, with strolling mandolin players and waiters serving the desserts in procession.
