As you can probably gather from the name, the Villa Romana is the archetypal, small-to-medium sized Italian hotel. It is a family-run place and its owners go to some length to make you feel welcome, almost part of the family. Its decor is also designed to make you feel at home in a foreign place, being very Italian and proud of its Mediterranean style and handsome terracotta tiling. The restaurant manages to be a perfect balance between elegant and informal and the chef is an expert at local dishes as well as regional Mediterranean recipes and vegetarian options. The lounge and TV room continue the relaxed theme, which all helps make Villa Romana a highly recommendable base from which to enjoy the Amalfi coast.

Giving it an overall rating out of 5:
Villa Romana is centrally located in the charming town of Minori, so it puts you conveniently close to everything; the beach, the excavations of the Roman villa for which the hotel was named and the church of Santa Trofimena. The towns of Maiori and Amalfi are just one and four kilometres away, respectively.
