Beaches
Tropea's beach boasts glistening white sands that gently spill into the glittering blue waters of the sea. From the shore, there is an impressive view of the church of Santa Maria dell'Isola. This church is a former Benedictine sanctuary and is built on a crag of land jutting out to the sea. Not only is it the perfect spot if you're looking for some shade from the midday sun but is also a lovely sight to behold when it's all lit up in the evening.
Eating out
Atmospheric, family run restaurants can be found hiding in the back streets and alleyways of the town. Eating out is great value for money and it is almost impossible to come by a bad meal. Sample the Calabrian Cipolla di Tropea - sweet red onions, typical of the area.

Evening entertainment in the resort centre is relaxed and based around the piazza cafes. However if you want live music or discos you can find these in some of the larger hotels around the resort.

Tropea is home to a good number of shops selling local produce and foodstuffs. The shopkeepers are friendly and are proud of their wares an only too happy to tell you what you should do with certain ingredients to achieve a great taste when cooking! There are also plenty of souvenir and convenience shops too.
