Nice, but a bit too quiet.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of August 2014. The hotel itself was pleasant being very modern and clean and somewhere we felt comfortable to stay although we felt missing the little extras that made it 5*. However, still of a good standard and well worth going to. The grounds are lovely (if you get a pool view room). The staff were very welcoming, friendly and their service was definitely 5*! The General Manager bent over backwards to help us when we got into difficulties. We stayed on a half-board basis, but were disappointed to know that not even water was included as a drink with dinner. I was expecting a better quality of food, with more choice. Please also do NOT make the same mistake we did – we booked through Olympic Holidays . We flew from Manchester to Zante airport on a late night flight. Our hotel room had been booked from the day we flew out which meant that at the end of our 7 night’s stay we were expected to check out of the accommodation 1 whole day before we were due to fly home! We did not understand this beforehand – it was a grenade dropped in our laps in a quick mention by our Olympic rep: Lauren “smiley-face” who pulled the pin and darted off before we understood what she was telling us! She also forgot to give us our welcome drink and discount vouchers. Thankfully this was sorted out by the hotel’s general Manager who let us pay for an additional night’s accommodation. This hotel was a little quiet for us, as there is not much entertainment to speak of. The beach was very nearby, but was public and crowded. If you want a quiet holiday in an idyllic setting in the sun, then I would recommend this hotel for you. But make sure you book with a reputable company or the hotel directly.More

Relaxed holiday

We came back last week after a weeks stay in this hotel, and I can't wait to go back. We were met at the steps with a glass of bubbly, followed by a very quick booking in procedure and then escorted to our rooms, all bags carried, on the way the front of house manager pointed restaurants and bars out. The room was a little small for 3 adults but we only slept there our room overlooked the pool so at night we could sit on the balcony and watch the entertainment if we didn't want to sit downstairs. The cleanliness was second to none, both in the room, main area of the hotel and the pool area. The food at the bar at lunch time and the restaurant food was very good, a good selection, the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. My husband wore shorts to the restaurant the whole time we were there, and so did the majority or other men. The beach which is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel does have loud music playing but we went a few times late afternoon and it wasn't too bad. With regards to the price of drinks, we ate out once and looked at the prices around a few places and to be quite honest there was not a lot of difference. We ordered a bottle of the house wine and it was 18 euros, which I found similar to what you pay in Britain for a bottle of the house wine. we hired a car for three days through Avis (Thomas Cook) and went around the island which was very interesting and found a lovely quiet beach in Vasilikos, If you do hire a car it may be an idea to hire a smaller one as parking is a wonder in Zante! and small cars can be easier to manoeuvre around corners and down narrow streets with cars parked on both sides and sometimes double parked!! We have a very relaxed and chilled holiday and would recommend this hotel. Ante is a lovely island. I would say that there are no kids clubs or anything really for children, this hotel is more suited to adult, couples with babies or small children. Children from the age of 6 upwards, if they cannot amuse themselves would struggle and possibly became a nuisance to other people.More

Not a 5 star stay!

Stayed at the Lesante for 10 days in July, our stay was very eventful, and did not live up to the 5* expectations we had. I'll start with the positives. Spotlessly clean everywhere, public areas and rooms were cleaned daily to an exceptional level. The pool areas were always clean and this was probably the only reason I'd rate this hotel as 5*. Check in and out went smoothly, and was only a short transfer from the airport. Some of the staff were were very friendly and helpful (others were not). A short walk, 10-15 mins into town along a dark road, however Tsilivi town was not the Greek idyllic town I was expecting, instead it was a tourist town, very commercial, and not many nice tavernas. Not great for people expecting to have a traditional Greek experience. Ok the negatives. I will only touch on a few, firstly we stayed half board, the food was very very average. Most of it was cold, and looked like it had been sitting on the buffet line for hours, at both breakfast and dinner. We ate out for the majority of our 10 day stay. The hotel has a rule that gentleman must wear long trousers to dinner, however no where was this informed to us throughout our booking or check in. The men in our party were told to return to our room and change into long trousers on our first night entering the dining hall. We informed the lady we had none, and so she rudely agreed to let us in, even though we weren't abiding by their so called rules. This is where I have the problem, the inconsistency in this rule made us feel very uncomfortable by other diners and members of staff, either have this rule firmly in place or wave it completely. The food was average and it was a buffet, I do not see the importance of this, and would have completely understand if we were dining in an award winning restaurant etc. Found the rooms to be very average and small. The TV was rubbish, no english channels. The walls and doors are like paper, so you can hear people talking and slamming doors at the other end of the corridor. A nightmare at 3am. To be honest, we found a lot of the staff to be rude and arrogant, especially the concierge man who because we refused to pay his extortionate price for car hire and trips seemed to ignore us the rest of the holiday. Very childish. The local beach is not great, dirty sand, loud restaurants playing music all day and beds very very close together. Hire a car, explore the island especially the beaches Gerakas, Xigia Bay, and Makri Gialos. This hotel is trying to be something its not. Would definitely recommend staying somewhere else, as the price does not justify the location or service.More

Relaxed Luxury

We enjoyed our week here I early May even though the weather was not that good. Lovely hotel and staff right across the board. The food in the a la carte restaurant was excellent and the buffet style evening meal was generally good. If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place to go. My only complaint would be that drinks and wine were very expensive so we generally bought drinks and sat on our lovely balcony. We had a great holiday and Zante is a lovely island.More
