Rizolia Villas

The Rizolia Villas form part of a private village, made up of ten villas in total. Think two-storeys of stone-built simplicity set in landscaped gardens, and you get the picture. Not only have they stuck to the traditional sugar cube shape, they’ve left much of the original landscape intact, too – twisted old olive trees still stand in the grounds.

We’ve picked five of those ten villas for you to choose from, all big enough for six people to share. In a nod to tradition, they come with terracotta tiled floors, full-length muslin drapes and open stonework. Built-in white sofas and mismatched cushions add a modern vintage feel. While antique-look dark wood furniture and beamed ceilings complete the picture.

The rooms are spread over two levels with one double and one twin bedroom upstairs, as well as a family bathroom. Downstairs, you’ll find an open-plan dining area, living room and kitchen, and there’s also another double bedroom with en suite bathroom.

But the real standout feature is the pool area. Behind each villa, there’s a covered patio, perfect for al fresco meals. It opens out on to neatly trimmed gardens, where you’ll find your own classic, rectangular pool.

All the positive points of previous reviews came to fruition on this last minute trip. Yes it was the last week of the season and most of the island was "closed" for business but from the cheerful welcome from Louise at the airport to the immaculate villa and pool it was just what the family needed. Our 2 children aged 12 & 8 were in the pool every day as we were very lucky with the weather.....sunny every day and around 20-24C. We did have rain on the last day but we were only packing the car and going to the airport anyway. All the pointers and information given in previous reviews are correct and were helpful. Dennis' Taverna in the village (350m) was great for evening meals and we ate there four times with once in Fredo's next door which was cheaper but more of a cafe than a restaurant. Everywhere else that was within walking distance was closed but that didn't matter to us and we were quite happy to buy food at Lidl or AB Supermarket on the road back towards the airport, and eat at the villa. The shipwreck cove was one place we wanted to see as we drove around the island however the route is not for the faint hearted and the viewpoint to the cove we felt was not at all safe especially with children. What you can see from the "leap of faith" platform is quite disappointing. The beaches we saw all looked nice although tidying up like most other things had come to a standstill on the island. A couple of pointers....if you have young children who can't go in the pool on themselves (.65 - 1.65m) take a cheap inflatable one to put on the side for them to cool off in. Take or buy a can of fly spray certainly for the time of year we were there, and finally take your own salt, sugar and coffee unless you are not bothered about leaving half or more of it behind due to suitcase space. The olive museum, which again is only 350m away, is well worth a visit. Not only is there the museum but you are shown the whole process of olive to oil which the children found very interesting. Chance then to buy olive oil infused with lemon, orange or garlic and taste the various products with bread as well. Apart from that just enjoy this little gem of a place.More

2nd Visit...Still the Best

Arrived for a week on the 21st July 2015 with family of 9 people, 4 generations. My wife and I have been before in May 2013, we had the best time. We had 2 villas next to each other, thanks Louise. Excellent location, excellent villas and excellent Thompson Rep Louise. Louise thanks so much, our family loved every minute, hope to return soon! 😀More

Gorgeous location and wonderful hosts

Just back from a 2 week stay at Villa 2 at rizolia and would highly recommend it! The villa itself is clean and spacious and ideal for our family of six ! The 18year olds stayed downstairs in the master room as had it's own bathroom - a necessity with 2 teenage girls , our boys slept in the twin room with balcony and we were in the double room which was small but had adequate storage. Nikos the owner was amazing, so helpful and polite . Our villa was cleaned every other day and was easy to maintain as it was so spacious . Our only complaint was the hardness of the mattress. Loved it! More

Mel K,

"The best holiday ever!"

While a little reluctant to leave a glowing review (and not make these villas popular) my family and I can only conclude that this has been a fantastic trip- with my four-year-old daughter still being consoled that we had to come home. The accommodation was first class and, having read reviews on the villas beforehand and concerns with regards to security, we were reassured to find that the family looking after the complex were forever working on the complex (tending their vegetables, watering the gardens etc.) throughout the day and late evening. Any initial trepidation caused by the reports were quelled and I will certainly be returning to the villas next year for "Best Holiday Ever #2".More

Fantastic villa

We are currently on holiday at Rizolia Villas and unfortunately return home in a couple of days, we have had a great time on our first visit to Zante. The villas are set in a very rural area surrounded by Olive trees and sounds of the Greek countryside ,cows chickens and what we think is the sound of a peacock plus the many small green lizards that scatter about. Overall the grounds and exterior of the villas is are immaculate and all trees and shrubs are kept in a fantastic condition,as for the swimming pool this is also kept in a great condition with clear blue water even if a little on the cold side in May. The interior of the villa is kept spotless and apart from a slightly dated kitchen there is little to complain about, it is bright and airy with a very comfortable feel that soon makes you feel at home. The beds are a little on the hard side for us but overall we slept well on what looks to be new mattresses for this summer. Louise our Thompson rep left us a pack with every thing you could need for your stay from directions to towns restaurants super markets and beaches.we did not need to contact her once on our trip as all the we needed was at hand. I must say that our trip has been great and I would recommend not just Zante but also Rizolia Villas to both freinds and family.More
