The Ionis Art mixes style and location. You’ve got the strip on the doorstep and the beach two minutes’ walk away, while the hotel lines up art-filled interiors and themed bedrooms.
This place is right on Laganas’ strip, so you’ve got bars and clubs just steps away. The beach is only two minutes’ stroll away, too. And in a nod to the name, the hotel’s crammed with Greek and modern art.
Stylish bedrooms are done up in different themes, with extras like leopard-print linens and Chinese mirrors. They have iPod docks for in-room music, plus soundproofed windows so everything’s nice and peaceful.
Twin room sleeps two to three. These modern themed rooms have large patio doors leading onto a furnished balcony for some outside space. Just so you know, a refundable breakage deposit of 30 Euros per person is payable on arrival.
I went to the Ionis Art Hotel from the 11th to the 18th of August with one of my friends. Upon arrival, reception gave us a chat about the security and safety of the hotel which made me and my friend feel very safe as this was our first holiday alone. Reception staff are lovely and are always there to answer any questions. The room was decent sized (double bed, single bed, bathroom, balcony). There is a safe, fridge and air con that you can pay to use (I would definitely recommend to spend the extra money on those things). The only thing I wasn't happy with about the room was the bathroom which seemed very dirty and stayed dirty throughout the stay. The balcony had a nice view of the pool...though not all the rooms have such a nice view. The balcony doors are sound proof which was really good at night as the strip can get very noisy in the early hours of the morning.
We paid for bed and breakfast but because breakfast ended at 10am, we only made it on one morning which was the morning we were leaving and had to be out of the room by 9.
When booking flights, what ever time your flight is that day, even if it's the late hours of the night, you still get kicked out the room at 9am. You can pay a charge of 30 euro to keep the room until 7pm that night so depending on your flight time , this may be a good idea.
The bar staff in the pool bar are so lovely and friendly. We became good friends with Kristy and Deano who worked mainly at night and are a good laugh to have drinks with by the pool bar before you go out. Nico worked during the day and once again, lovely guy and good company. If you miss breakfast, make sure you try a full English breakfast from the pool bar...very good hangover cure.
When ever you leave the hotel, you do have to hand your key into reception for security reasons, even if you are only leaving the hotel for a few minutes to get some food. At night it really helps as you then don't have to worry about losing your key while you are out (just make sure you don't forget your room number)
There was security at all times and at night, the security is very strict which once again, makes you feel very secure in the hotel.
Would definitely return to this hotel, had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a chilled holiday with a lively nightlife.More

On arrival you are asked for a 30 euro deposit each and 10 euros per day for the air con, fridge and deposit box. So within 5 mins of entering the hotel we had spent 160 euros!! This is not mentioned in the brochure and could well leave people short of cash at the start of their holiday. When you leave your room and remove the key that activates your electricity the fridge goes off!! So when you return the fridge is cold anyway! We feel as though the hotel has sold its self out to the Thomson scene,it is a lovely hotel but it is full of teenagers. Although it is on the strip,it has the potential to be a very good hotel but the very noisy teens made it a nightmare place to stay.we appreciate that everyone is on there holidays but constant noise throughout the night with no regard for other guests was a real pain. The hotel is very noisy and all the noise echoes. Constant people running up and down the corridors, slamming doors, screaming and shouting with the music playing was horrendous!! We didn't have one decent nights sleep all holiday. In defence of the hotels security,we did ring reception one morning when party goers returned at 6.00am to start playing music we rang the desk and within 1 minute the security were knocking at the door to tell them to turn it off. We did wonder why they couldn't patrol the 3 floors of an evening to keep an eye on things. It was very nice hotel with helpful staff but for a relaxing holiday not a chance!!More

On arrival to the hotel the reps took us to the breakfast room where they tried to sell us the excursions. Me and my friends did not buy any of those as we decided to do our own thing out there. We were given a shot and the reps were very friendly.
When checking into the hotel the staff were very friendly and the owners were absolutely lovely. The room was spotless and we had the view of the pool which was probably the best view that you could get.
We never actually ate breakfast despite us paying for bed and breakfast because we were never up early enough after our night out on the strip. But considering the price of the hotel i didnt actually mind. The hotel was on the strip so when me and my friends were running home to be sick it wasnt very far away no matter where we were on the strip.
Before visiting the hotel i was a bit weary about the security guards being strict however when we were there they were absolutely lovely. Adonis was our favourite and he was always concerned when we came back and we rushed him to have our key so we could go and be sick.
Another good thing about this hotel was that when you are going out you are asked to leave your key. This actually helped us as we would have been scared to lose this on a night out on the strip.
We enjoyed this hotel so much that myself and my friends tried to bargain another week with the owners however they had no more rooms that week.
When we return to zante we will definitely be staying at the ionis art hotel. Me and my friends also got offered jobs out there for next years season. We were all very excited for this and would love to work there. More

Good Holiday but not for couples!
Firstly.. if your a couple this hotel is not for you! It is a "Scene Holiday" for drunken youngsters. We had two reps which really they don't care about couples it's all about money making in the "groups" don't do any of the "pub crawls" or U.V paint parties I would recommend going on the streets and you can probably get dirt cheap tickets yourself! We did a few other excursions with thomson don't get wrong great service pick you up on time but some of it like sunset cruise waste of money didn't even see the sunset just disappointing! The only one I recommend is Shipwreck Cove. Amazing. And Turtle Spotting with one of the street sellers.
Right.. Hotel. Was good wasn't worth 4* but for a youngster pad isn't bad for resting your head for the night or shall I say day!
Yes it's noisy very very noisy I wouldn't come back for this very reason, I'm young but it's not really my thing getting drunk every night but me and my partner regretted booking this hotel as it's a place for groups really. If you decide to sleep during the night you probably won't! Take the phone of the hook and buy some earplugs! Loud banging on your doors and wining Scottish girls bickering outside your room in the early hours! Just lovely when it's hard to sleep anyway in the heat!
Room was nice we had a double room which was lovely but restricted light during the day as balcony doors was facing a wall! (Room 205) Girls if you need to get yourself ready do it whilst daylight is in as you may have a few power cuts and power won't be back on til 5-6 hours later! We had 3 in a space of 2 weeks! That means no lights no shower no internet and no aircon!.
Staff are also lovely, if your nice to them they'll be nice back. The receptionist with the dark short hair she's lovely I think she had time for us as she knew we'd probably not trash the room etc. Sad to see us go i think, Not sure about the night bouncers but wouldn't like to cross them! Keys must be handed in everytime you venture out and safe key is your responsibility. I would advise to pay for safe, aircon and fridge, people did moan bit it does clearly say online and in brochure. Breakfast is pretty minging I would advise to get a cheap breakfast out on the strip around 4â¬.
Pool is okay not huge but was warm whist we stayed in late July/Aug. Easy to get a sunbed not fighting to get one as kids are still in bed, no food or drink purchased outside of hotel not aloud by poolside. But food is freshly cooked and it's nice.
Dont put toilet paper down toilet we got told off hehe. And don't brake anything you'll get charged like a million ⬠but then have respect. We didnt brake anything so we didnt get charged so if you do get ready to get told off by the lady with thr blonde hair! also if you go to paint parties make sure you wash off properly as if it's on the linen you'll get charged.
If your going out for food don't jump into the *12 euro starter main drink clause * it's OK but not the best. Try down by the beach pretty nice food mostly all the same menus, I got fed up with it. This chicken house as well bit minging chips cold,1⬠pizza slices ok but avoid young chappy on till picks his nose whilst serving!
Maids come In everyday and linen changed every 3 days good service can't complain.
As I said it's not for couples that want to relax but great for youngsters on the piss as it's right on the main strip! Cant get no closer really, Great if you want this and to bury your head in the pillow the next morning!
