Ionis Art Hotel

The Ionis Art mixes style and location. You’ve got the strip on the doorstep and the beach 2 minutes’ walk away, while the hotel lines up art-filled interiors and themed bedrooms.

This place is right on Laganas’ strip, so you’ve got bars and clubs just steps away. The beach is only 2 minutes’ stroll away, too. And in a nod to the name, the hotel’s crammed with Greek and modern art.

Stylish bedrooms are done up in different themes, with extras like leopard-print linens and Chinese mirrors. They have iPod docks for in-room music, plus soundproofed windows so everything’s nice and peaceful.

Nicest hotel in Laganas

Stayed in this hotel for a week in July with some friends and it was perfect for us! There are a lot of dodgy alleyways in Laganas where some hotels are so we were pleased that this hotel was right on the strip as it was impossible to get lost. The staff are lovely particularly the bar staff and bouncers, always made you feel welcomed and safe! Do not buy packages from the twentys rep they rip you off and there's loads of similar things available for cheaper! Down point about being right on the strip is the music is very loud and it's on until early hours in the morning, but if you are staying out late anyway you won't really notice it. One night we was woke up at 6am by a group of girls screaming and banging on doors, but the bouncers do regular checks and solved the problem. The wifi package is also good I bought the 48 hour one for €8, but you can log in and out so it's not wasted when you're not in the hotel and it lasted me the whole week! However the wifi reception was not good in our room but was fine round the pool and in the lobby. Unfortunately our air conditioning broke one night quite late and was dripping everywhere so we complained and someone was sent to fix it within the hour! The flush on our toilet also broke and that was also fixed within the hour. We was anxious that we wouldn't get our deposit back even though it wasn't our fault but we did and there was no problems. Overall a lovely hotel and I would stay here again!More

Twenty Twenty

Being in our forties we booked this by mistake and arrived with trepidation, only to find a fantastically well run hotel that catered for us perfectly. Rooms of good quality and spotless, excellent location and the staff and guests all friendly. There are moans about the deposits but it's someones property and livelihood and I'm sure, unless you want to wilfully damage the place you wouldn't be concerned. Great hotel, great place, great holiday!!!More

Four of us girls stayed here for one week. We had a warm welcome by both hotel staff and the holiday reps which set us up for our holiday with a great package deal for all the best events - definitely recommend taking advantage of that. Our rooms were on the ground floor which was unfortunately very noisy at night with people using the stairs and the lift, however the balcony doors do totally block the sound of the Laganas strip out. The bar staff and lobby staff are second to none and are always happy to help. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is lovely. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a young group of females or males who want a busy but also relaxing holiday as there are many options tp do both in the hotel. More

Great value, friendly, surprisingly appropriate for a non-partying couple too!

Me and my partner visited Zante last September for one week. It was our first abroad holiday together and we were looking for something relatively cheap, somewhere hot and not too lively. We booked through Thomson and thought it would be the end of the party season in mid-sept - we were so wrong! This hotel is on the strip, almost right on the beach and we were concerned that it would be too noisey. But don't let this put you off if partying every night isn't for you! I am such a light sleeper, but with a pair of ear plugs I slept fine. We had a balcony overlooking the strip and spent most evenings people-watching! The hotel itself is very modern, the decor is lovely for what you pay and it is very clean. The art installations are pretty cool and make the walk to the rooms interesting! The rooms are very nice and very clean. You can't flush toilet roll etc. in the toilet so you have to remember to put it in the (lidded!) bin provided - a bit weird to get used to but bin was emptied every day so was not an issue. You pay for air con (we chose not to) and the rooms get quite hot. We tried to leave the doors open during the day but the maids shut them The swimming pool was clean and there was always enough loungers to go around. The bar near the pool served bar snacks which we're nice and weren't too expensive, coke was €1 for a glass bottle. The only thing expensive was the water, however we went to the shop across the road and bulk bought bottles of the same make water for a lot cheaper and just brought them down from our room :) On arrival our reps said we could meet in the bar for a free shot and to talk about what activities we could do - we advised we were here for sun and chilling rather than going out every night and they were lovely, not forceful and frequently chatted with us at the bar or by the pool throughout our stay. The rest of the staff were lovely too, friendly, helpful and professional - they all spoke great English and appreciated out limited attempt at speaking Greek! At the front of the hotel was a KFC and there is so many similar fast food places open throughout the day and into the night - still cheap prices as in the UK. We ate out every night and I really recommend walking around to get a feel for the menus and the deals that will be on. There are staff stood outside most restaurants trying to convince you to go in, it's nice to talk, but we found that saying we'd already eaten helped make for a smooth getaway! The best place by far that we found was 'Bon Appetit' - we paid €10 for a starter, main and 4 alcoholic drinks! Such good value and really nice food too. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed it so much we went there every night for food after! The beach was a 2 minute walk from our hotel and was ok but very narrow, lovely for a stroll but we just used the pool for sunbathing. We booked from one of the street stalls to go on a cruise around the island (not a booze cruise!) and to visit turtle bay via being picked up at the bus stop opposite the hotel. It was lovely but I'd try to get on the boat first so you can get a decent lounger. Bring plenty of sun cream as it's not shaded on the top deck! We stopped off to swim in the sea and in the coves and it was lovely. Went past a beach full of rare turtles (you can't get too close so we didn't actually see any). Tried to cruise around the whole island but the sea was too choppy so we turned back but we were still out for the same amount of time. One day we visited Laganas beach again via bus. Now the buses here do not run on schedule - I'd advise to get there 10mins early and be prepared to wait for about 20mins after it's due - it will turn up but you'll have to wait! It was a lovely beach, tiny fish in the water (really tiny) and a gorgeous chapel atop a hill. Lots of water sports if you fancy it and the cafe/bar was pretty good too. The one thing I would check before booking is whether the return trip is included - we didn't realise that ours was only included if you rent a sun lounger at an extortionate price. We just lay on our towels at the beach and very luckily met and got chatting to a very interesting ex scuba instructor who was a regular and got us onto the bus without paying. Overall had a lovely holiday, better than expected and would recommend both the hotel and Zante highly.More

Amazing holiday! Worth every penny!

Myself and my two friends stayed at Ionis Art hotel for two weeks from 18th July- 1st August and it was honestly the best holiday we have all had! We had already been to Zante last year but stayed in a different hotel so was hoping it'd be good and it certainly didn't disappoint! When you get to the hotel the staff are very friendly and welcoming. On arrival you have to pay a breakage deposit of £30 and can also chose to purchase the fridge, safe and air con for your duration. Air con is definitely a must!! We chose to get all three for the two weeks we were there which cost us 140 in total which was just under £50 each for two weeks which was a fair price. We also had to do this at the hotel we stayed in last year so we did expect this! The room we had was spacious and very clean and had a proper bath and shower in which in a lot of hotels you get the basics so we was pleasantly suprised as to how nice it was. You also get a tv and docking station in your room for no extra cost which is great when getting ready for your nights out in the evening or just chilling! Obviously being a 2wentys hotel most guests would often have their music playing and loudly too which always made a good vibe! A lot of people on here seem to have moaned about the noise but we can honestly say you cannot hear the strip from your rooms the only noise you do hear comes from the rooms around you but being in Zante thats just normal! The pool area was great and always had a fun vibe with music playing all day and into the evening. The pool was also open until 10pm which was great too! The bar staff Minnie and Zak were great too, always happy and smiling and honestly couldnt have wished for nicer people! It was horrible having to say bye to them on the last day...they really help to make your holiday! Our reps Tom and Emma were great too and always up for a laugh! The night staff were great too and always welcoming and pleasant! The strip was literally outside the hotel which was so ideal and everything you needed was literally right at your doorstep! I would definitely recommend the paint and foam parties to anyone going! Having been there before we knew what the events were going to be and also knew that sometimes the best nights are when you just go out on your own accord! Personally wouldnt recommend the full moon party as its over rated and even one of the reps agreed with us on that one! We also met others from our hotel who didn't think the full moon party was all that either! Bit of advice would be to have an early flight going into Zante and a lunch time flight going back home as this saved a lot of waiting around! We met one group whilst on holiday whose flight home was early, being picked up by coach at 3am but they were expected to leave their hotel room by 9am. Instead they paid the extra to keep their room until 7pm but there was then still waiting around for their coach for 8hours! All in all the three of us literally had the best holiday ever and thats with thanks to everyone at the Ionis Art Hotel-staff and other guests! We would definitely recommend the hotel and we are already thinking of booking to go back there next year even though we have only been home a week! More
