Alykanas Village  

Amazing pools. A great location. And all our Familyclub Xtra specials. This place has things nicely worked out in the family getaway stakes. Take its location. There’s no long trek to the beach here. Just pad past the pool and you’re there. Granted it’s a fairly narrow stretch of sands, but they’re soft underfoot and shelve down to calm waters perfect for little swimmers. The views are postcard-worthy, too – all big skies and green mountains.

But it’s the pools that really catch the eye. There are three to choose from – one that’s set into lawns beside the beach, plus a sporty number and a bigger pool shaped like a jigsaw piece between the two apartment buildings. All have terraces furnished with sunloungers and parasols, with the main pool adding glossy palms and a bar terrace into the equation.

When it comes to food, everything has been kept fairly simple. There’s the pool bar for snacks and cold drinks. For proper meals, meanwhile, you’ve got a wicker-furnished café-bar with an outdoor terrace. Cooked and Continental breakfasts take the stage here in the morning, with Greek salads and favourites like pizzas taking over at lunch. Come dinnertime though, most guests walk into Alykanas village proper. Just a five or ten-minute stroll away, it has loads of tavernas and bars.

As you’d expect, the complex has plenty going on activity-wise. As well as our Familyclub Xtra programme, there’s a playground and the Grid for teens.

Although a little on the simple side, the accommodation is comfy and modern. Choose from studios or two-bedroomed apartments, each with a TV, kitchenette and air-conditioning. And most come with balconies looking over the beach or the pools as well.
