The Aresti Villas are a group of 16 villas set among rolling farmland, olive groves and fragrant eucalyptus trees on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Agios Dimitrios.
Each villa gets its own private pool and sun terrace. Plus, a stylish restaurant-bar serves traditional dishes like Aresti pork, vegetable casseroles and rooster ragu by candlelight.
Chic, individually decorated interiors are a given at the Aresti Villas. Bedrooms might feature four-poster beds, while living areas could be kitted out in dove-grey walls and dark-wood furniture.
Thomson Villas with Pools is now called Villas Collection. Whether you’re after a place with a pool, or a rustic retreat in the heart of the countryside, this is where you’ll find it. Read more ››

Not as bad as we had feared
We have been to Aresti twice before 2008 & 2010, so we were pretty sure as to what to expect. For us to visit the same resort twice is unusal but with a fantastic Thompson deal we could not resist a third trip to Aresti Andouan. We were concerned at the recent reviews on the dilapidation of the villas but this was not as bad as we feared. These villas are "rustic" but full of character and if you are seeking a relaxing and simple holiday - ie less mobile phone/ internet relaxation then these are ideal. Their position on Zante may not be "seaside" but it is well positioned to visit all corners of the island, not that driving is easy with signposts few and far between on rural routes. But you can get into Zante town in 15 mins and get to a coastal resort in the same time. If hiring a car then the additional insurance is a must for peace of mind. Driving regulations do not apply to locals so no crash helmets / traffic lights are for guidance! and never did we pass a police car on the road in two weeks! But when we went to the coastal resorts and had lunch it was very pleasant but we always seemed to say " why are we paying for a sunbed and umbrella when we have a beautiful private pool." Since we were last in Zante supermarkets have improved and having a Lidl did help with shopping for two weeks of easy cooking. The supermarkets and some restaurants do take credit cards so we worried unduly. As previous reviewers have said the villas are kept very clean with daily maid service. Maria was a tireless host who made our holiday, insisting we move villas when the local cockerel woke us up in the early morning and doing this with the minimum of fuss. She cooked us some lovely meals allowing us to bring our own wine and NOTHING was too much trouble. If you are prone to Mosi bites you must take protection seriously night and DAY. Also if you are travelling with young children do contact Maria directly at Aresti, or make contact with Louise, your Thomson rep. as some villas would be less suitable than others., ie. Demetri has no shallow end to the pool (1.5 metres all length) also some parts of the staircase have open treads so can be treacherous for very young children. Louise is a top rep who offered 24hr phone contact which is important as at night as there is no apparent on site staff. We did not call her at 2.30am when an earth tremor woke us, apparently a "common" problem in the area.More
We chose to come here for a family holiday and ended up leaving â¹ï¸ Our villa, though clean, smelt of drains and mothballs which were everywhere in all drawers etc. We had no hot water for the 24 hours we were there. The pool was so deep I could only just stand in the shallow end (5 ft 6). Despite this the lady who worked there (Marlene) tried very hard, massively over worked!More
Went there as a family of 6 two kids and grandparents! It was the best holiday ever. The villas were fantastic as were the staff. Pool and villa cleaned everyday. Amazing place totally recommend staying here!!!More
Lovely but needs some TLC
We've been to these villas several times over the last few years & although they are in a lovely setting, the villas need some updating now. The washing machine is broke, the air con leaks, bed covers are ripped & torn, the pool edges are grubby and sun loungers are rickety. The villas are set in lovely grounds & are cleaned daily. The staff work hard & are friendly. More
Great place, excellent friendly service!
Beautiful villas, pools and gardens. Great to have a taverna on site as well, an easy stroll after a bottle or two of local wine. Are a few improvements could be made (as per some of the other comments), particularly some v firm beds. But all more than made up by the smiles and welcome from Marlene, Maria and all the staff there. They made us feel so welcome and made our 3 year old Oscar feel like a little prince. He would run to see them when we ate at the taverna and he played chase with our cleaner every day! Would definitely go back, would feel like we were visiting friends.More
