Aresti Villas - Demetra

The Aresti Villas are a complex of eight villas, of which we are pleased to offer Villas Demetra and Chryssa. The complex is built among unspoilt surroundings of rolling fields, olive groves and fragrant eucalyptus trees, on the ruins of the owner’s family mansion. Even some of the materials from the old mansion have been used in the construction of the villas.

Each villa has a private swimming pool with shaded terrace and gardens full of lemon and orange trees providing further shade and privacy. On-site facilities include a children’s playground, restaurant and shared barbecue. The owners also have a piano bar and restaurant 12km away, on the Red Rock of Xenopoulos just outside Zante Town. While enjoying the traditional dishes customers can listen to live piano and guitar music.

Charming Villa

On arrival at the airport, Louise, the Thomson Rep was there to greet us with directions and basic info. We had a problem with the car and after a text to Louise a new car arrived at the Villa 45 minutes later. On arriving at the villas, Marlene was there to welcome us and show us to the Villa Ioannis. The villa has three en-suite bedrooms, two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. One only used the downstairs bedrooms. The villa was great and made extra special because of the private pool and the privacy. We did find the villa a little dark inside. The kitchen was well equipped. The cleaner comes every day, changes sheets every couple of days and always leaves plenty of fresh towels. Pool man comes every day, cleans pool and patio area and checks the filters. This is a lovely setting, all the villas are very private and secluded and we would recommend the villa if you want a relaxing holidayMore

Just got back from a week at Aresti Villas. The villas are very good. Cleaned every day (including the pool), set in very pretty and quiet surroundings and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The villas cater for up to six people but as I was there with the hubby we had our choice of rooms and bathrooms, all tastefully decorated. The only downside, and I think this is quite common with villas, is that you need the car to get out and about. You can't really get anywhere on foot. While I love the villas, I do miss being able to wander off into the town/village. Apart from that, this is a great place for a quiet getaway!More

Charming Greek Villas

We stayed here in July 2013 (only options to select were back to Oct 13) and we had a fantastic holiday. The villa is typically greek and is tastefully decorated to an extremely high standard with a four poster bed to boot. Both the pool and villa are cleaned daily and Sedede our cleaner was meticulous. We stayed in Ilia villa and the pool sits in the sun all day long. There is an onsite restaurant along with organised Greek nights which is a enjoyable night out for the whole family and a giggle trying greek dancing. The location is great as you are in the centre of the island so handy when exploring. The villas can be booked through Thomson's and the only negative is that the cars in the package are not the best. We enjoyed this holiday so much we have already booked to go back next year!More

Lovely Villa Great Holiday

What a great two weeks family holiday in July/August, My family and I stayed at the Aresti Villas-Chryssa and what a great Villa with plenty of room both inside and out, inside the villa has three bedrooms two with double beds and one with two twin beds there is air conditioning in the bedrooms only which is just fine, there is a safe in the twin bedroom at a cost of 12 euros a week there is one bathroom with a toilet plus a separate toilet also in the bathroom is a automatic washing machine which came in very handy at times, only a slight down side there is no proper shower only a hand held one which you get used to. The open plan kitchen lounge area is very quaint there is a LCD Tv with dvd player and the lounge is very nicely decorated, the kitchen is set out with all your basic needs. There is a cleaner that comes every day and does a great job. There is no Wifi in the Villa but there is at the reception/restaurant area again you have to pay for this. The Villa is one of the original villas and used to be the family home so is set in its own ground filled with olive trees, palm trees and grape vines, it has its own drive and can be closed off with two gates so you can make it very private, the pool is the biggest of all the Aresti villas and is surrounded with palm trees and grape vines, it has the sun all day and only becomes partially shaded late afternoon but if you need to shade from the sun midday you can by sitting under the grape vine covers the full length of the poolside and was full of beautiful ripe grapes, there is a pool guy who comes every day to clean the pool. Aresti villas situated in the middle of the island on the main road and is very close to some of the main resorts and if you just want to have a drive out its very easy to do so. All the villas are managed by one very cheerful lady called Marleen who is always on hand to help if needed, you will meet her on arrival. As we booked our holiday though Thomson's we were met at the airport by there villa rep called Louise on hand with a bottle of water for all four of us she sorts out your car hire and gives you your welcome pack with all the villa details plus a list of all the best places to eat places to visit etc but most of all she gives you very detailed directions on how to get to the villa, resorts from the villa and so on, she gives you her contact number and is on hand virtually 24/7 no problem to big to solve. Would we stay at Aresti again !! yes most definitely a beautiful Villa on a beautiful island.More

On arrival at the airport, Louise, the Thomson Rep was there to greet us with directions and basic info and a bottle of water each. Very much appreciated. Louise was great as she had already anticipated and sorted out a single larger vehicle for us (family of five). When booking with our regular travel agent, we were only allowed to book two little cars. Louise said this was a glitch in the system (please take note, Thomson) and it was easy for her to spot this and change it at her end. The car, however, was not the standard I would expect from booking with Thomson. Very loose gear box and pretty dated vehicle. However, it did the job and we managed with it. On arriving at the villas, Marlene was there to welcome us. Super lady with bags of energy and always a happy and helpful approach. Again, something that is very ambiguous on the Thomson website and booking at this end - we were sure we were booking a single storey villa. However, our villa - Andouan - was two storey (as are most on the complex). Ok, never mind. The villa itself was ok. Best part about it was the pool and the privacy. However, we did find it particularly dark inside. This was even with all the shutters open and the pretty handmade curtains pegged up. We also had all the lights on during the day and it was still a bit cave-like. Bathrooms - It's probably the way it is in Greece, but the showers and bathrooms are like a bit of an afterthought. There is no way you can hook the shower head onto the holder unless you want the water to spurt directly at your face at a 90 degree angle - not down at you, as you'd expect. Therefore, it's essentially a handheld shower working off the taps. Took ages for any warm water to reach the shower head. We really did have to take it in turns to take showers to maximise a warm shower for everyone. Both bathrooms were small and the downstairs one is a long way off what I'd expect of an en-suite bathroom off the master bedroom. Kitchen - Pretty basically equipped. Would not attempt any cooking in the villa apart from toast or boiled eggs. Unfortunately, despite the claim of pride in cleanliness, the inside of the fridge was clearly dirty with some sort of sticky spillage and messy around the front and the handle. However, this was sorted straight away when we asked Marlene if it could please be cleaned. Lounge was a bit uncomfortable on account of wooden settees. No comfort unless you surround yourself with cushions. (One comfy armchair which we fought over!) Location - Good. You're pretty much in the middle of the island, so nothing is more than 40 minutes drive away. Louise's folder with info on where to go, what to do, good beaches, good places to go was absolutely fabulous - a really great resource and really gave us some good ideas for days out. Terrific. The main restaurant of the complex and wifi area were adequate. The wifi was off quite a bit - sometimes for a stretch of approx a day and a half - a bit of a pain since my teenage boys were relying on emails with exam results. And you have to pay €10 per week for the privilege with no compensation for 'down' days. TV reception in the villa is quite poor. Whilst the main restaurant is ok and Marlene and Maria do their very best to serve the standard assortment of Greek meals either at the restaurant or to your door, the food is very average. But beware the constant onslaught of flies at your table if eating at the main restaurant! Cleaner comes every day, changes sheets every couple of days and always leaves plenty of fresh towels. Pool man comes every day, cleans pool and patio area and checks the filters, etc. This is a lovely setting, all the villas are very private and secluded. It's sometimes cooler/breezier and therefore the summer heat is more bearable at the beach. Thomson please note - it would be nice to know via the brochure or website the position of the villa you've booked, whether your pool is in the shade or sun all day, and better clarification on whether it's one/two storeys. We have had a lovely two weeks. This has been very much on account of Louise's folder with information and Marlene's warm and welcoming approach. A good standard, but if you're looking for luxury, this isn't it - look elsewhere.More
