Blue View Studios

This place certainly lives up to its name of Blue View. The hotel is just footsteps from the shingle beach of Limenaria and the turquoise water here is a real draw. It scores extra points when it comes to location as it’s only a ten-minute walk to the centre of Limenaria. Here you’ll find shops, bars and plenty of waterfront tavernas.

As for the hotel itself, expect simple, light spaces that team white walls with cream sofas. Bright prints add a splash of colour. The restaurant, meanwhile, is a minimalist monochrome affair, with tables spilling out onto a terrace.

In terms of accommodation, there are only 18 studios, so there’s a really intimate vibe to the place. Décor-wise, think terracotta and ochre feature walls teamed with chunky pine furniture. There’s a kitchenette with all you’ll need to rustle up simple snacks. Plus glass doors lead out to a furnished balcony with views over the pool.

Talking of which, the pool scene is pretty impressive. There’s a large oval pool and a separate one for children. The sundeck has loungers arranged so they look out to sea, plus there are plenty more places to relax in the surrounding gardens. Finishing things off is a large barbecue area, which provides a platform for the weekly theme nights.

The first thing that strikes you at the Blue View is how spotlessly clean everywhere is. Then when you walk out onto your balcony you see the welcoming pool area, the clipped grass, the decking with its tables, chairs and parasols. Your eyes take you across the little dirt road to the pebble beach and the sparkling sea and you realise that the location is ideal. A few minutes wander into the village with a variety of Tavernas gives you time to stretch your legs after lazing on the beach, although you’ll be hard-pressed to find better food than at the Blue View where every meal is tasty, well presented and generous – they will even cook something not on the menu if it’s available. Ria and Andreas work tirelessly and are always there to see that you have everything you need and are to be congratulated on their unstinting service. It doesn’t take long to wind down and make new friends and a lazy routine can soon be achieved of laying on the sunbed, taking a dip in the sea (or pool), lunch on the decking, more sunbed before Happy Hour (Mon-Fri) then shower and change before dinner. Not forgetting meeting up with friends for a nightcap before bed. Thanks to the Derby Duo and the Bedford 5 for making a good holiday great. From The Telford Two! By the way, all water on Thassos is natural spring water so you don’t need to buy bottled water you can drink straight from the tap, which we did all fortnight and didn’t suffer once.More

Just returned from the Blue View after two weeks (8/9--22/9/13 ) there is no way that is a 3star Hotel it is much better than that ,the Owners Andreas and Ria are really welcoming and there food is awesome ,as we were self catering ,but had no intention of cooking anything our selfs ,so we ate in the town a few nights which was good ,but the food in the hotel was better and not really expensive at all ,the Hotel is spotless and cleaned methodically every day ,the pool is crystal clear and again cleaned to a very high standard indeed,I could not find any fault with anything in or around the Hotel,it is well located on a shingle beach and a few minutes walk from the town with plenty of friendly tavernas and shops, all the tavernas served good quality food and drink and we're always welcoming you without pestering you , A superb holiday had by my wife and I and as the Hotel is small everyone gets on with each other and you will make new friend as you have a beer and a chat. I am well traveled but not easily impressed ,but I was with one.good luck Andreas and Ria you deserve the best and thank you .mick and sue (301)More

Blue View is in the perfect position, bar to pool to terrace to beach resulting in a very relaxing(lazy) holiday. The hotel is spotless throughout, the rooms spacious and ample warm water everyday. Breakfast was buffet consisting of breads, jams, nutella, greek yoghurt, honey, ham, cheese and eggs. The food at lunchtime (small fried fishes, yummy) and in the evening was outstanding, the portions were very generous.Kleftico night is recommended. The family are lovely, very friendly and efficient. The Greek night was great,Andreas's tricks afterwards certainly got the brain cells working! Limenaria is 10 minutes walk away (some restaurants closer),it is a lovely town with ample restaurants and bars, some very good, others not so good! The beach opposite is pebbly but sandy once in the sea,if you walked away from the town the beach was lovely and sandy! Thankyou all for a lovely holiday and the trip was certainly enhanced by the great people staying at the hotel especially the Derby Duo and the Telford Two! Lovely little gem

We stayed here in 2009 and it's still a favorite in our minds, the family that run it were amazing and so friendly ( I do hope airs the dog is still there) we hired a car on this holiday which we believe is the best way to see the island, if you like quiet tradition Greek this is the place for you, it is on oir list of places to revisit More

When i read the reviews about blue view i thought it can,t be that good, but it was . It was absolutely beautiful, we had a corner room overlooking the sea with a huge balcony. The gardens were immaculate and all the staff lovely. We also attended the greek night which was great fun, and the food was very good .There was lots of choice for my husband who is vegetarian which makes a nice change. will definately recomend this hotel to all our friendsMore
