The pace of life in Skiathos is set to slow. And it's the same story at the Mitzelos. Set on a green hillside in a secluded spot, it's ultra peaceful. Plus with its mountain setting, the views from here are to die for. For all its serenity though, you're not far from civilisation. You can stroll down to Evangelistria in ten minutes, which has a hub of shops and tavernas. And it's just a 15-minute drive to the beach or Skiathos Town.

The villa and apartments themselves are the real Greek deal, painted white with terracotta-tiled roofs. And whichever you go for, they all share views over the countryside and sea. Each one comes with their own private pool, bordered by a terrace with sun beds, pretty pot plants and a barbecue. Plus, there's a covered veranda with a dining table, ideal for laid-back al fresco meals.

The interiors are just as lovely. They're fuss-free and fairly basic, but have everything you need. Both have open-plan designs and the decor is bright and airy with whitewashed walls and cool tiled floors. You'll find a spacious lounge with comfy sofas and a TV, a dining area seating four and a fully-fitted modern kitchen. Add vaulted wooden ceilings and a traditional fireplace for an authentic edge and you get the picture. There are also two bedrooms with high ceilings, one of which is a twin and the other a double.
