First visit to Santorini
My husband and I stayed at the Korous Village Hotel in Perissa on Santorini from May 9th for 7 nights on a half board deal with Thomson Holidays. Its a place I have always wanted to visit and on this occasion we were certainly not disappointed. We arrived late at night and were helped to our room and so I did not get to really view the hotel until the next morning and wow in the beautiful hot Grecian sunshine I was so pleased to be there. It's what I call a small typically Greek style of hotel with just 34 rooms white painted walls with sky blue room doors and trims with lots of beautiful flowers and spotlessly clean.Katerina and Vasilli and Leo ran the hotel with just another hand full of staff and cleaners and were excellent all of them never stopped working.Breakfast is served there with everything from delicious Greek yoghurt with honey to pastries to a cooked English breakfast. Lunches and evening meals can be taken at outside restaurants that you receive a voucher for just on the beach front a few minutes walk away. The weather while we were there was great 25 to 30 degrees every day, the Thoxmson reps were very good especially Jenny and Lynn both very knowledgeable about Santorini. We had a fantastic time would return to the island and this hotel and cannot reccomend it enough to everyone.More

Unfortunately didn't end up staying at this hotel due to it being Double Booked!
Sorry to have to report that double booking is still an issue at this hotel. Sept 2016. I thought that having booked through Thomas Cook that our booking would be guaranteed. Sadly not so. Hotel looks nice enough and I'm sure all the good things other people have written about the hotel who did manage to get their rooms are correct, but we didn't get to find out. Not what you want when you book a hotel in good faith.More
A beautiful, typical Greek hotel
Just got back from two weeks holiday at the Kouros Village hotel, travelling with Thomas Cook. We were apprehensive when we first booked the hotel, some reviews from last year were not too good. However, in reality the hotel was perfect for us and could not have been any better. Where to start? The staff. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed. On account that we had had a private transfer from the Airport, we were early and the room wasn't ready. No problem, it gave us chance to sample the lovely bar area : a lovely area covered with a Pergola that was detached sufficiently from the pool to make it a lovely area in the evening. Katerina behind the bar was always friendly and cheerful, something that astounds me about all the locals on account they've been working 7 days a week for five months. We mainly saw Leo at Breakfast, that was when he stood still for long enough. The efficiency of that guy is phenomenal! The room staff were also really friendly and helpful. Location. It's on a side road about 100m from the sea front, where all the nice bars and restaurants are. There is a busy road about 200m in the other direction but who wants to go there? The pool. We don't usually do the pool at the hotel, but in an afternoon after a day's activities it looked so inviting that all my party ventured in. There is the usual pool crowd that emerge in the dark early hours in order to reserve their sunbed for a couple of hours in the afternoon, but if that's what they want, so be it. In my opinion, you don't go to a beautiful island like Santorini to sit around the pool all day. I guess that if every room wanted to sit around the pool on the same day, there are not enough sunbeds. Breakfast. As with any Greek hotel, we expected little but were pleasantly surprised. Cereal, fruit and yoghurt, a small selection of warm food (eggs, bacon, sausage), toast and jams and croissants. The fruit selection was limited, but we fixed that by buying some of our own from the local supermarket. Some folks had a problem with cold baked beans but I actually like them! It was at breakfast that Leo used to astound us, always dashing around providing toast, coffee and restocking food. Room. The rooms are typical Greek, basic but comfortable. Air conditioning works well and the showers are always hot. A nice touch was the blue mood uplighting and tea lights. There is a fridge so a couple of nights we had a bit of a cheese and wine evening in the area outside our room which was delightful. We have now been to Perissa for two consecutive years and will be going somewhere different next year. Only because we've seen Santorini now. When we return, we shall have no hesitation in returning to the Kouros Village.More
