Lovely Stay

This is our first time at the Lindia Thalassa Resort, myself, my wife and my two children aged 17 and 11. From the moment we arrived the staff could not do enough for us. The apartment was bright, spacious and very clean, down to even having a bottle of water in the fridge for us. Our first day did not change our first impressions, the pool area, the beach, the restaurant was all spotless. Stavros at the pool bar was very helpfull and friendly. A ten minute walk brought you to the centre of pefkos which had a nice selection of restaurants. The supermarket on site had all your basic needs and was not overpriced. All in all we as a family would have no problem recomending this resort to all type of holiday makers. We will be back, keep up the good work.More

Lovely hotel

We booked this hotel as a second choice when the island blue was fully booked. In the end I was glad we stayed here as I think it was much better value for money with all the same facilities. We booked with Thomson, I noticed if I had booked the late check out room direct with the hotel it would have been cheaper, than booking it as an extra through Thomson. Thomson also charge extra for a seaview and I was told by them they were sold out. When I emailed the hotel to ask for a cot in the room I asked for a sea view and I was given it at no extra charge. The evening entertainment was of a really high standard. The singers were great all really talented. Not cabaret or cheesy. The pools do get busy but there is plenty of choice and do great pool bar lunch time snacks. Easy walk into Pefkos with lots of restaurants. Breakfast was a huge buffet at Island Blue. Plenty for everyone. BBQ night was OK, nothing spectacular. The beach is beautiful but really narrow and widens as you get towards the town. Good choice of hotel for families or couples, but i believe there are only showers in the bathrooms not baths. We took a small inflatable baby bath and used it on the terrace to bath our toddler. The shower is small and narrow. If you were heavily pregnant or obese I don't think you'd get in it. The kitchen is basic, we didn't use it to cook but it was handy to have a fridge and kettle. Everything is really clean and tidy. The rooms are cleaned almost every day and the towels and sheets changed every other day.I would happily recommend this hotel and was really pleased with it, it was a very high standard for the price we paid. We attended a wedding in Lindos and the receptionist organised our taxi for us. I had my hair done in the salon and they did a lovely job. Rhodes is lovely but it is a wedding conveyor belt. There was a wedding every hour at the st Paul's chapel, not so many in the hotel itself (we saw a few over a week and they weren't roudy), but I think half the island is made up of brides grooms and wedding guests!More

Returned again in July for our second visit this year our 16th overall and had another great ten days. Staff as always were excellent and weather extra sunny. My only negative is the Bar prices, not just in Hotel but all over Pefkos, it works out quite expensive over ten nights.. but saying that going back in october.More

Returned, very tired, this morning from another magnificent 10 day holiday at Lindia Thalassa, Pefkos. Already the sun tan has worn off but not the wonderful memories made thanks to the staff, villagers, venue and weather. We were truly lucky to experience the newly refurbished Studio apartment in block D121. (Will hopefully have pictures to follow). We were on the ground floor making it an excellent location for the pool but far away enough to not hear the entertainment if having an early night. The double glazing kept out the noise and the blackout curtains kept out any sunshine. We needed aircon as 30 plus degrees by 11.00am?! We also hired a safe. We didnt hire a safe last year but there were more of us and obviously more money etc - well worth it. You can hire a microwave if you wish but we felt we didnt need to. The rooms were airy and very clean. We had a modern TV and the bathroom had a waterfall walk in shower with extra shower head to wash the little ones. The towels and bedding changed frequently as always. We loved the pool at Lindia but also frequented the Elia pool which was much quieter and more of a chance of getting a sunbed as most sunbeds were taken with towels by 8.00am which was a real bug bearer of mine- there is even a sign asking not to hog the beds??!! The food at Elia was slightly more expensive but worth it and the staff were very attentive. However Stavros at the Lindia poolbar was attentive, happy, friendly and nothing was too much for him. Maria at reception works tirelessly to ensure every customer has everything they need. The supermarket is well stocked and priced fairly. Sometimes it was just too hot to walk in to the village so the Lindia supermarket was a gem. We ate out most evenings and can only say I had two bad meals which I will cover in another trip advisor review. Lindos is well worth several visits and St Pauls Bay. We visited both early evening when it was cooler. We jumped from the rocks at St Pauls Bay which was quite a thrill. George the mayor has done wonders with the lighting around the colleseum and the various restuarant rooftops offer an excellent all round view. We also hired a car From George the mayor at Lindos Car Hire - very reasonable and visited many little villages and beaches. Lardos was very nice in the evening and Tsambiki beach was great for the beach with inflatable slides and climbing walls - brill. Our beach in steps away. Great for snorkelling. We often swamjust as the sun was setting which offers a gorgeous view. Overall an amazing holiday and would like to thank everyone, once again, for making it another magical experience. xMore

A Home Away From Home

This was our 4th time to Lindia Thalassa and aside from the number of revisits speaking volumes about how much we love it, there are a few other things to note too. The staff. They are great, full stop. The Ionnidis group employs some genuinely first class people, who go out of their way to make your holiday everything you want it to be....such as Maria on reception, Stavros behind the pool bar during the day, Loukas at night, Maria, the chef at Medusa pool bar, Costas at Pefki Island (part of the resort), the countless gents on golf buggy's driving around the resort, who are all so friendly, Makus at Island Blue hotel (part of the resort) who makes amazing cocktails and talks to us with such enthusiasm and genuine interest....without these people, our holiday would never quite be as good. Entertainment at the hotel is another big winner for us, there's something worth watching every night at one of the hotels in the resort, whether it's Karaoke or Abba or The Drifters, all very entertaining and worth a watch or participation if you're into karaoke!! My wife and I liked watching a bit of the hotel entertainment after a nice meal up in Pefkos, nice to be close to our room after a day of sunshine, afternoon beers and too much food!! Pefkos town is only a short walk away if you fancy something else, with plenty of amazing restaurants and lively bars to choose from. The rooms at Lindia Thalassa are basic and we have always been very pleased with them in terms of cleanliness. This year, we noticed a slight dip in the cleanliness, which is a shame as the rooms could also do with a bit of refresh. We tend to forgive this each year due to how spotless the rooms are usually kept by the cleaners. Pefki Island and Island Blue are both very nice and modern when it comes to the rooms and Lindia Thalassa is being left behind. Rumours of a winter refresh are around each year and I really hope this time it's not just a rumour, and that the Lindia Thalassa rooms get a well deserved upgrade. One major positive with the cleaning at Lindia Thalassa is that the towels are changed daily and the bins are also emptied daily, so whilst I mention the dip in cleaning, it's really only a minor point. We just hope the rooms get upgraded for next year! We didn't get a sea view room this year either, which was a shame. I'd recommend either requesting one when you book and hoping you can get allocated one (it's first come first served) or paying extra for a frontal room in A block as the views make the holiday even more special. Other points to mention: The beach is a few steps away, making for a real treat. Some days the sea is as calm as a mill pond, warm as well, beach isn't overcrowded, with sun beds easily available. It's 10 euros a day for 2 sun beds but if you head down after 4pm they're free. We noticed a lot of cigarette ends down at the beach in places, almost as though people were partying down there at night in certain spots as it seemed worse in the mornings. If they supplied ash trays, that would keep the place tidier. Food at Lindia Thalassa is also decent and convenient if you're having a pool day. We ate lunch by the pool a few times and were happy with what we chose. Prices have increased since last year, but we couldn't really complain as there has been a VAT increase in Grease, so some price increases on drinks etc. were to be expected. Water is still 1 euro, and with the heat being 37 degrees plus when we were there, we needed a lot of it!! The pool area is clean and tidy, better for us in the morning when it was quieter. Sun beds were being reserved early in the morning for part of our stay, however there were still enough to ensure you could sit by the pool even if you didn't get up too early!! Island Blue pool is quieter, and the food slightly better too, so that's worth a visit. We liked visiting Island Blue for pre-dinner cocktails, but occasionally it was too hot in there to stay long! Quite how the staff manage to work in it, I'll never know! The toilets in there are hotter than the sun, literally! My wife and I came here originally 5 years ago as a new couple and have only missed one year since then, that's the beauty of Lindia Thalassa - it has become part of our life. We have so many memories here and we love it so much that every year, we feel compelled to book. The truth is why would we go elsewhere when this place feels so much like home (only 20 degrees hotter with the ocean on the doorstep)! We've already decided we'll be back next year, so see you in 2017 Lindia Thalassa! More
