We have been to Pefkos many times before but our stay at the Linda Thalassa has to be the best experience we have had by far. From the moment we arrived to the day we left the hotel and staff delivered fantastic service. Add to this great entertainment on most nights and you get a holiday that is memorable for all the right reasons. This hotel is suited to all age groups and is located within easy reach of the resort centre and the beach.More

Great self catering apartments
We just wanted a basic couple of weeks self catering where we didn't have to be tied down to all inclusive - this place was perfect for that. Felt very Greek, beautiful setting very close to a sandy beach. Apartments were basic - but we expected that as the description and photos on Thomson website were clear. Only negative, minor though, there is not a great deal for kids to do and with the pool not being large, older kids could get bored. There are a couple of pools you can choose - but they are all very similar. Short walk to restaurants, several have playgrounds/bouncy castles for kids - which our two enjoyed.More
The perfect quiet family holiday
This was the best family holiday we've ever had. The apartments were spotless, perfectly located very close to the stunning, safe, clear-blue-water beach and within a short walk of bars and restaurants. Staff were fantastic, Maria on reception couldn't do enough to help us, the resort supermarket is reasonably priced with everything you need, even at the end of the season. We will be going back.More
2 weeks of fun in the sun for a family wedding
Sorry for the late review - we had a problem with Thomson over a stolen suitcase - will add to this at the end of the review! We travelled for 2 weeks 10-24th September and arrived at midnight. We had requested for a ground floor apartment in block d (due to walking issues and pushchair for our young daughter) but were given block B on the first floor. We was told this was because another family of the wedding party had asked for a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment and they don't have 2 alongside each other, only above each other. (You might want to note that all rooms have steps to access rooms as the hotel is on a hill - steps down to the ground floor rooms and steps up to the first and second floor so near in mind if you have a pushchair as you have to carry it up and down steps) Ok onto the rooms - as we arrived so late we just dumped our bags into the bedrooms including a bag that had biscuits inside. We woke up to find hundreds of ants surrounding the bag which wasn't great. To be fair we contacted maria at reception and she sent out the maintenance man straight away with ant spray which was also left in the room for any future ants that appeared. Our room was B207, spacious and clean but the only negative was the maids cleaning cupboard is right next to one of the bedrooms - they access this at 8am so if you wanted to sleep in it wasn't going to happen because of the noise. Air con expensive but needed - we paid for one room but it was enough to cool down all rooms. We went self catering and there was a good choice of food from the bar menu and also the supermarket. Baguettes at the supermarket were 1.90 Euro. The bar menu was fairly priced for the service. First day we bought the kids chips were 4.20. A few days later we found out you could get a Ham & cheese toastie with loads of fries for 4.10! So worth bearing in mind. And the chicken gyros was lovely. Kids club - this closed for the season on our last day (24th) and there wasn't many kids (because of it being school term time) but the staff were friendly and my kids went in a few times (aged 10,8 and 5) Hotel staff - all friendly and helpful. Special mention firstly to kostas at the bar who was friendly and having a good chat with the kids by the pool. The bar also had football on the Tv for all you football fans. The most helpful staff were the receptionists though. Maria and the other young lady (sorry I forgot her name but I'm sure began with an 'A') helped with any questions asked. They also made phone calls to arrange our own private coach to take us to the water park in faliraki for the 34 wedding guests which was above and beyond their usual duties so thanks for that. (Also helped out with our suitcase issue) Eating out - we chose to eat out every night and we had mixed reviews of the different restaurants we tried. The best by far was harmony restaurant - the staff were amazing and friendly. Food was great and they also had a play area and arcades which the kids loved and gave us parents chance to sit down and chill a bit. There were a couple of other restaurants with kids areas too but our kids preferred harmony over the others. The cost of meals varied between restaurants - the most expensive was 100 euros for the 5 of us and the cheapest was 45 euros - this was for a starter, main and drinks. Unfortunately the worst restaurant we visited was the 3 pigs. We went for a friends birthday and their was 14 of us. 6 steaks were ordered and each one was chewy and gristly. One was so bad that a friend changed the meal to a pasta and they made her pay the added difference which we thought was a bit cheeky. The worst part was the owner trying to defend her steak - saying only her steak was fresh which was why it was chewy - she said every other restaurant froze their steaks which was why they were more tender! I've never heard anything like it. Hopefully it was just a bad batch of food. As for souvlaki and gyros - it was amazing wherever we went. I never had Greek food before this holiday but I've been won over by their it and will be e visiting Greek restaurants back at home. All in all a great holiday and we are hoping to go back to the Lindia thalassa at a later date. Finally the problem with the stolen suitcase. All luggage was taken off the coach at Rhodes airport and at some point someone had stolen 1 of our suitcases as we were rounding the kids together (8 in our party). At the time we thought someone had taken it in error. We spoke to the Thomson rep who advised us to check-in our remaining luggage as departure was only 80 mins away. We did this and to this day our suitcase hasn't been found so presume it was stolen. On arrival back home we contacted our travel insurance and they said we needed a police report form otherwise we couldn't claim. The airport rep never told us we needed one at the time we reported it. We contacted Thomson head office and they said without the police report form they couldn't help any further! We were shocked and angry with the lack of support after the amount we had paid for the holiday. Our last resort was to contact Maria at reception to see if she could contact our hotel rep, Alice. We hadn't spoke to Alice for the whole 2 week holiday as we had no need to bother her but she was really helpful when needed. Maria passed our details on to Alice who called me and said she could fill out a customer service form for us to send to the insurance company. Luckily this was enough and our claim is being processed. Again - Maria and Alice went above and beyond their usual duties and we're very thankful for that. Thomson head office should be ashamed for their lack of help but their hotel reps obviously care about their guests even after they've left the resort (if you go on Thomson social media pages you'll see many other people not happy with head office - this was the ONLY negative of our whole holiday) Sorry for the long review but we felt all this info would of been helpful to us if we knew beforehand. Good location and facilities.
The hotel has access to five swimming pools on site ranging more child friendly ones up to an adults only roof top pool with the most comfortable loungers imaginable. Rooms were spotless and all on site staff were friendly and helpful. The main beach is a two minute walk away through the grounds and the main streets of Pefkos are only five minutes walk. As we were flying back late in the evening we were offered complimentary use of a room for one hour so we could shower and change before our transfer to the airport which meant we could spend as long as we wanted on the beach. Would be very happy to stay there again on another visit.More
