Amazing wedding venue
Fabulous hotel, all staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel very clean, rooms very spacious, food was amazing, variety every night, cannot fault this hotel at all, only very minor thing is we visited mid September and there wasn't anything really for children. Adult orientated. We had our wedding at the hotel and they organised everything for us. Well worth the money. Very happy customers.More
Warm welcome, wonderful food, excellent service!
We stayed at the Lindos Mare Hotel at the beginning of October for our 50th wedding anniversary. Having been delayed at the airport we arrived later than scheduled in the early hours. We received a wonderful welcome, shown to our beautifully presented room, by such an enthusiastic young man who showed us how everything worked. We were delighted to find tea making facilities in our room - unusual in Greece. The shower was an absolute dream - like having one's own spa treatment. And the bed was the best ever - so comfortable. We were welcomed with a bowl of fruit, a bottle of bubbley, and a celebration cake. Throughout our holiday the service was impeccable. The staff were so friendly, but professional, incredibly helpful without being intrusive. The restaurant staff were amazing - especially those who worked on the balcony area overlooking the bay - where we usually liked to eat. Our thanks to you all. We have never done half board before, usually preferring to sample local hostelries. The food at the hotel was so amazing we were not even tempted to eat out, except for the odd lunch - though usually having had such a super breakfast at the hotel, we didn't even need anything for lunch! Other guests who frequently cruised with top cruise lines told us the food at the Lindos Mare was superior in choice and quality! The hotel is far enough away from Lindos to be peaceful and quiet, but only a short car drive or taxi ride away for anyone who wishes to visit - the Acropolis is a must! It is elegant but qwerky, being built into the side of a cliff, with numerous flights of stairs, lifts and a little rail car from the top floor. Having broken my wrist just before we arrived this wasn't a problem, but it would not be the right hotel for anyone with hip or knee problems. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had the best massage ever at the Spa, again with great service. The hotel beach was good, with fine yellow sand, and wonderfully warm azure blue water - usually absolutely mill pool calm.. Further down the bay on the public beach the sand turned to grit and was not so good. Staff from the lower pool bar were on hand all day to take orders for food or drinks on the beach. We hired a car from the car hire office in the hotel. The operator was very helpful, the and it was a good deal. There is also small jewellery shop and a little 'supermarket' selling essentials such as water, sunscreen, items which might have been forgotten, a few clothes, gifts and post cards. On three nights a week there was good entertainment . The first an Abba tribute band - to my surprise was excellent - then a jazz night and a Greek Night - at the end of demonstration dancers, many staff members give a proficient demonstration of Greek dancing. All in all we had a wonderful, relaxing holiday, enjoyed wonderful food, did a little exploring, and enjoyed amazing weather - mostly not even a cloud in the sky, temperatures between 26 and 30 degrees in the day and lovely balmy evenings. We like Rhodes better than Lindos town, but the Acropolis was well worth a visit. We hope to return! .More
Everything about our stay was excellent - I was very impressed with the staff and facilities. The service is excellent. I didn't really believe all of the reviews that said how many people return to the hotel year after year, but we seemed to be pretty much the only couple there who were visiting for the first time! Everyone we spoke with had returned every year for at least the last five, and I can absolutely understand why. Efe is an absolute star! The hotel was perfectly clean in all aspects, and very well maintained. The room was exactly as it was represented in the advertising, and I absolutely loved the window in the bathroom that looks into the bedroom and gets the benefit of the sea view! The pools are beautiful (bigger than they look on the photos) and the private beach is well served, too. The sunbeds were in high demand, but we never had a problem getting one at our preferred location. The snorkeling is great in the bay, too. The variety of food at the buffet breakfast is great, as is the evening meal, but we chose to eat in the town most evenings to experience Lindos itself. The staff at breakfast and dinner can't do enough to help, and they're extremely accommodating. I have to say that I'm not the sort of person that goes back to the same place again and again, but if we were looking for a guaranteed good experience and just wanted sun and sea, we'd without a doubt return to Lindos Mare. It would be perfect if it was closer to the town itself but the taxis are cheap (for those who are wondering if you could walk from the hotel to the old town, the answer is yet, BUT along a really busy road without a path (but you can walk behind the crash barrier) and you definitely shouldn't attempt it in the dark!More
Just returned from the Lindos Mare in Rhodes. It's a lovely hotel, fair size rooms, big comfy bed, lovely views across Vlicha Bay. The food is excellent, a choice of buffet or selected main meals which can be supplemented with additional items from the buffet. The staff are lovely, always made you feel important. Our room view was disappointing, being dominated by a block of newer rooms in front of our balcony. We paid the extra for a sea view, and yes we could see the sea, but 80% of it was hidden. We decided not to ask for a change of room, as the hotel don't claim that you'll get an uninterrupted view. Asking to a sea view with a balcony may help. Sadly, my wife had suffered a slight unidentified stroke before we went on holiday and had lost a little mobility. Because the hotel is spread over a large area she struggled with some of the slopes and steps. This didn't stop us getting down to the beach but the journey getting there was very tiring for her. This is not the fault of the hotel but if mobility is an issue for guests can be a problem. Although most of the levels can be accessed by the lifts, there are still some steps to be negotiated. There are some ramps but some steps could not be avoided. That said this was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at, and our holiday at the Lindos Mare was very enjoyable, in spite of unexpected events, and it's a hotel we would love to return to.....mobility permitting.More
Second to none for customer service for disabled daughter
We had one of our best holidays at Lindos Mere hotel, with my disabled daughter and son-in-law. My daughter is in a wheelchair and she was able to take part in everything. The staff are incredible, with the best customer service you could find anywhere in the world. Effi and her team could not do enough to make sure we had a memorable and fun holiday. They offered lifts to and from the pool for my daughter and my son-in-law, who has cerebral palsy and walking difficulties. Staff from the porter to the manager all gave them lifts in their own cars, folding the wheelchair in their boots and helping her in and out of the car. Everyone in the team were compassionate, kind and incredibly helpful. The bar man at the pool even helped lift my daughter into the pool. Nothing was too much trouble and when my son in law fell ill, they called a doctor to the room, collected and delivered the prescription and checked on his well being. We will definitely be back to visit Effi and her amazing team, who all felt like friends at the end of our week's holiday. Thank you all so much for a very memorable holiday. More
