Lindos Horizon Studios

in Lindos , Rhodes T rating: 3 plus

  • Spectacular views
  • Clean & spacious rooms
  • Relaxing pool area
“Up in the hills above Lindos, this rural retreat comes with a vantage point that would make most hotels olive green with envy.“
From its hillside perch, the Lindos Horizon Studios offers up great views across Lindos village towards the sea. And its out-of-the-way location means there’s little more than goat bells and the clip-clop of donkeys’ hooves to distract you from your peace and quiet. If you do fancy livening things up a bit though, Lindos is just a 15-minute walk downhill and a taxi home costs about four euros.

Once you’ve adjusted to the calm vibe, the first thing you’ll notice is the pool. It’s a roomy oblong affair perfect for serious swimming or just a quick dip. It’s set into a curved sun terrace that comes with comfy blue sunloungers and cream umbrellas. What’s more, there’s a pool bar out here that serves drinks, snacks and great Greek salads during the day. And if you’ve forgotten to pack your holiday read, the pool bar comes with its very own mini library – a bookshelf piled high with paperbacks. Add a weekly barbecue and this is the definite hub of the Lindos Horizon.

Step inside, meanwhile, and you’ll find generous-sized rooms decorated in neutral colour schemes. They’re kitted out with blond wood furniture and all have a balcony or terrace. And if you’re travelling in a group of four, you’ll get a split-level, open-plan maisonette to call your own.

Your guide to Lindos, Rhodes

Visiting Lindos is like walking into a painting. Brilliant white houses climb the hill from the bay to the clifftop ruins of the acropolis, affording - literally - breathtaking views. The prettiest village on the island, it is the focus of millions of photographs. Previously inhabited by Romans, Byzantines, Turks and Italians, a delicious melange of influences, indicated by the acropolis, the medieval walls, the tiny, cobbled streets and the architecture can be admired. A Greek national treasure, the only methods of transportation are motorbikes and donkeys. As the resort is completely surrounded by hills, July and August tend to be notably hotter than elsewhere on the island. Just three kilometres away from Lindos, Pefkos should hardly be considered remote - yet it seems a world away from the bustle of its bigger neighbour. Here, the picturesque location contributes to an air of relaxation among new friends.

We loved staying here, great view out of the ground floor room we stayed in. Hired a car & we went to tisambika beach which is about 20 mins away, but well worth it. The apartment was clean & comfortable with a kitchenette built in to the... more on this review
