Amazing hotel.

We have just returned from yet another amazing holiday in our favourite hotel. Each visit gets better and better. We stayed in a wonderful swim up room and shared our time there lounging around and swimming in the sea, main pool and our own swim up pool. Our room was massive and kept extremely clean. On arrival there was a bottle of wine, fruit, sandwiches and cake to eat in our room. The food served in the Agora Restaurant is buffet style with an amazing amount of dishes served all of which are delicious. It included food from around the world too eg, Mexican, Asian, Italian as well as Greek. For those that insist upon eating 'English' food most nights there was a roast meat plus chips too! Each night a chef cooked on the show cooking which included tuna served with truffle oil, pork smoked in hay, whole salmon, king prawns and much more. The restaurant has recently been updated and it has a lovely airy feel to it, with lots of space so there's no need to rush a meal in order for others to have your table. We were looked after extremely well by Tsampika, Vivian, Viron and Alexandros. Although all staff are extremely helpful and want to make your dining experience a good one. The lobby and pool bar served a good variety of cocktails and other drinks. Paris in the lobby bar, Christos and Mercedes at the pool bar looked after us extremely well as did all the other members of the team too. I cannot praise all the staff at this hotel enough from Valentia, Guest Relations, to all the reception team especially Flora Nicole and Clairy, the restaurant team, Anotonis and the bar team, chefs, maids, gardeners as they all take pride in their work and want to make your holiday a relaxing, special time. The hotel is set in the most beautiful setting right on the sea front with fantastic views all around.More

Pru S,

2 weeks of Honeymoon, relaxation and perfect weather. Perfect hotel

Arrived at Atlantica Imperial on a sunny afternoon, beautiful weather. Hotel staff were amazing. Greeted everyone with a cold glass, or two, of bubbles. Check in was easy and we were even upgraded which was fantastic. We wanted a relaxing holiday, to chill out and that's exactly what we got. First day down to the pool area to unwind in the afternoon sun. And everyday followed a similar pattern. The food in the restaurants is absolutely top quality, fantastic variety whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. My wife is coeliac and the restaurant staff and chefs were really accommodating in helping with the food choices. There was plenty of choice for both of us. Poolside bar was brilliant, large selection of all sorts of drinks, whether beer, wine or milkshakes. Poolside games etc are organised should you wish to take part in them. I didnt, I preferred to sit back, relax and read a book. From near the hotel you can access all trips to Lindos, Rhodes etc. by bus or boat. We did a few trips to the likes of Rhodes and Lindos which are highly recommended. Overall we were absolutely delighted with the experience we had in Atlantica Imperial and would definitely recommend it if you are after a quiet relaxing couple of weeks of indulgence. More

Amazing romantic holiday!!

I just got home the early hours of this morning from a weeks stay at this hotel. My fiancé and I are 18 and 19 years old. We chose to book this hotel simply for the fact that it looked absolutely stunning and was perfect for a relaxing get away. The resort of Rhodes/Kolymbia itself are very quiet in general, so we generally stayed in the hotel during our entire stay. We booked a junior suite swim up room which was amazing. It was so quiet it felt like you had your own private pool. Upon arrival our suite was absolutely immaculate as was the hotel - it was faultless. We arrived late at night and were greeted with proseco and had our luggage brought to our room. We were also given complimentary drinks in our room, and a free bottle of water each day. We never used the main pool at the hotel as we preferred having our own pool as it was much handier. The maid cleaned our room everyday whilst we would have been out on our terrace sunbathing or in the pool. We didn't find this to be intrusive at all - the maid was friendly, didn't get in the way and was very quick and efficient. The food was ok. To be honest I expected a little better from a 5* resort. We are both on a vegan diet which we found EXTREMELY difficult to work with the food offered in the agora restaurant - so we had to stick with a vegetarian diet and vegan when possible. I would definitely suggest the restaurant to offer more vegetarian/vegan options as we did struggle to find something, although we did not starve. In the agora restaurant you have usually three people waiting at the entrance to greet you - usually 2 ladies and 1 man. I assume they were managers. To be honest I did not like their attitude as they gave me the impression of arrogance and superiority to staff members "beneath" them. They would walk up and down the restaurant and see you sitting there with an empty plate that needed to be lifted and ignore you. It was as if they felt they were "too good" to lift a plate and have someone else do it. I didn't notice quite often dirty plates - this was a BIG issue for me. I do not want to eat off a plate where I can see what someone else was eating before me. A few occasions I found some hair in my food. Apart from these minor issues, the staff in the restaurant I found to be very polite, and go above and beyond to make you feel special. They would refill your water without having to ask - however this made me uncomfortable because I'm not used to receiving such high quality service! One negative thing I might add is as a young couple, the entertainment really was not appealing to people our age. Although I would very much doubt the hotel caters to a lot of people our age (mostly because of how costly the hotel is) which is understandable. We also got engaged in this hotel on the rooftop lounge so this hotel will always be so special to us! The hotel photographers also were fantastic - particularly the man, we didn't catch his name. We purchased around 40 photographs and they were stunning. He gave us for an amazing price too. All in all Atlantica Imperial is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous scenery and is perfect for any couple who want quiet, alone time together. Thanks for having us!!More

chloco,

Good hotel but not perfect

Okay so I've read a lot of glowing reviews, whilst I would definitely recommend this hotel I am going to give an honest summary, good points and bad: (we have just stayed here for a week, half-board). Arrival: flight was late so we arrived about 1 am. Greeted with a glass of bubbly and a damp towel. We were given a meal voucher for our last day as they couldn't let us go to the restaurant this late. They said there were sandwiches in the fridge but this was no good for my wife, whose diet is gluten and wheat-free. They seemed surprised at this but shouldn't have been as I'd messaged them well in advance to inform them of my wife's dietary needs. This was poor communication and meant my wife had to starve after a very long journey. Food: generally very good but poor gluten-free options, they provide the bread but no separate toaster, so if you want to toast it you have to contaminate it. Poor. We spoke to the chef and the arrangement is not what we had been told prior to the holiday, we'd been told there is a 'gluten-free corner'. There isn't. There's a hit and miss labelling system but basically most food is not suitable for gluten-free/wheat-free needs. They ask you to speak to the Chef daily, one day my wife did this and got told to eat spaghetti! The only desserts she could eat was ice cream or fruit, and at dinner a lot of the time she could only eat chips, salad, sometimes pork - the problem is with a lot of the meats they put sauces on them which contain allergens. What they need to do is put dry meat more often, or simply have a dedicated gluten-free section as advertised. For me, the food was great because I can eat anything and the range was amazing, particularly on Saturday night. One night I couldn't eat one meat, far too pink. Sometimes the plates to pick up were dirty. Main food was good but desserts were awful, mostly different forms of coloured creamy goo, no variety. Restaurant staff, the women were far better than the men, Katerina in particular was a delight. The men weren't great at eye contact and sometimes came across as rude. If you go half-board lunch is 15 euros each plus drinks - it's nice, but Taverna Manolis over the road is much cheaper and excellent, as is Nikos up the road. Oh yes, the executive chef was eating in the restaurant at lunch smoking his e-cigarette, he did this in Reception too. Terrible! Rooms were kept spotlessly clean, (we had sea view double room), the cleaners were great and very polite. You get a free bottles for water every day, kettle with tea and coffee, sugar, bottle of red wine on arrival, LG TV with reasonable channels, massive room with generous storage space. Fantastic. The swim-up rooms were below us, don't waste your money, not deep enough, you can get the same experience but better for free over the road. Also the lagoon pool is great and you're right on the beach. We hired a secret lounger for the day, 40 euros, marvellous. You get a fridge with fruit and water and a lockable cupboard. There is a 75 euro option too but get the cheaper one and take your own stuff. Local area is very quiet, loads of cocktail bars though. Please please go to Antonis by the hotel for cocktails, he's always empty but he's lovely and makes great cocktails. Oasis is good too, Memories, T&P, Statues is watery rubbish though. For shopping there are loads of shops, there is a jewellers that does cheap Pandora. Hotel tennis courts are great, the gym over the road is excellent, weather is awesome. Overall recommended.More

Wayne W,

Holiday From Hell

I have just recently returned from the holiday from hell on the 10th of July. Unfortunately the '5*' hotel we paid for didn't quite reach our standards, all starting off with: - Our room wasn't ready, even though we had our holiday booked for around 7 months and it was 4am in the morning and all we wanted to do was sleep, not mess around with rooms. - We did not receive refreshments or hot towels when arriving (We witnessed other flights receive them though). - Cockroaches running around our temp room and up the curtains. They soon sent a security guard to the room and witnessed him stamp on 1 of the cockroaches and then pick it up with a napkin. He then couldn't find the other cockroaches as he scared the rest away from thumping around. We then wasn't offered to move rooms, just got left to sleep in the cockroach infested room. -After being told to come back after breakfast as our room would be ready, we then didn't end up getting into our 2nd room until 1pm, meaning we had lost most of our first day. -We finally got into our second room to find 2 single beds pushed together to make a double bed, making it uncomfortable to sleep at night. Also our 'mountain view' room wasn't so 'mountain' viewy, you had to walk out onto the balcony and look round a 5/6ft wall just to see the mountain. -Then dinner time came on our first night, we went to walk into the main restaurant to then get rudely approached by the waiters saying that no shorts on males is allowed, we wasn't aware about this as its in such fine print on the website and wasn't informed by any Thomson staff. We then got told to leave and we wasn't able to eat until my partner, Thomas, was wearing trousers... - As we was upset with our stay so far and then being denied access into the restaurant we went to reception to ask for the manager, we got told he wasn’t available and to go and speak to the Relations Desk. We went over to speak to the relations manager who was named, Valentina Patistea. After explaining everything to her she then rudely told me theres nothing she can do about it apart from us to go and eat outside the hotel, I told her that I wasn't willing to do that as I had paid to eat at the hotel and I wouldn't be able to afford to eat out every night and they wasn't willing to give me back any of my money for me to go and eat outside. I started to get upset as I felt powerless because I wasn't getting any further than I wanted and a build up of things were already happening less than 24hrs of being there. I then asked if there was any chance of us going home as I really wasn't happy with my stay so far, due to a build up of things and being badly treated by staff. She then grunted and said theres nothing they can do and to speak to the Thomson rep. -The Thomson rep was really helpful and explained that this situation happens a lot and even admitted herself she was unsure that it was stated on the website. We then had a look on her iPad to realise it does state that trousers have to be worn during dinner time, but in very small print. She also explained that the hotel have spare trousers to issue and we was more than welcome to use a pair until we went and brought some. I then turned to Valentina Patistea and asked her why this wasn't her first option, her excuse was 'I didn't have time to get to that bit', she had plenty of time to tell us as we was speaking to her at the relations desk for around 15 minuets before speaking to the Thomson rep. It felt like all they wanted is for us to spend more money and didn't want to help us out. - Our room started to not get cleaned as much over a period of days, all they ended up doing was making the beds and chucking towels on the side. One evening I got into bed to see that I had been given a duvet cover with a rip in, I have photo evidence of this. -I went to the bar outside and asked for a Sex On The Beach Cocktail, to then receive sexual comments from male staff. -After the incident over Thomas wearing shorts and not allowing him to enter the restaurant, they let another male in wearing sports shorts. -On our last night after being told by the restaurant manager that Tom was allowed to wear shorts the waiters still seemed to kick up a fuss and wasn't wanting to let us in, I explained to them that the manager had approved of this and they was more than welcome to go and ask him themselves as they still struggled to believe me. I told them to go and get him and then they refused and then finally let us in. We finally got served drinks 10 minuets later after being seated… Usually get served drinks straight away. This is advertised as a 5* hotel with very high standards, which they cannot meet themselves. I would not expect any of this type of behaviour from a 5* hotel and I am very disappointed with our stay. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!More
