Hotel Staff excellent Don't use the Spa

While Thomsons rate this with 5 stars it's not truly a 5 star as we would rate in the UK at best it's a four star. That being said the hotel staff, hospitality, food, drinks and room Brilliant - although the toilet arrangements difficult to adapt to I.e putting used toilet paper into pedal bin after using (rather than flushing down a toilet) and not disinfected is an issue and have concerns about infection and other forms of possible contamination/diseases. There was always something to do. The evening entertainment was mostly good over the weekend and slightly lacking during the week. Anna is a star and fantastic at her job in the shed. THE SPA- therapist all very nice and friendly however a huge error made in my treatment which was for 3 hr session had explained don't like sticky and questioned the use of honey (manager assured me it wouldn't be sticky - (yes even I was puzzled by this as honey by its very nature is sticky) and only females to do my massage neither of which happened. Manager tried to deny what I had asked for although gave 1/2 complementary session in real terms 2/3rds of my session had been wrong. This area of the building has damp and in the steam room the smell of damp is even worse and your breathing it in as you can guess didn't stay in it fir long about a min max the odour unbearable it was awful (not so healthy spa). The large shower didn't work correctly and dribbled as the shower head was block with lime scale as was the the side jet sprays. It was brought to the attention of the manager and it was ignored. Is the spa VALUE for money DEFINITELY NOT sadly we would never ever use THE HEALTH SPA again.More

Wonderfully Relaxing

My finance and I work very hard and were in desperate need for some relaxation in the sun. The Atlantica Imperial Resort was full yet so peaceful. I've never been to a hotel that doesn't accommodate children, I don't mind children at all but I was surprised about how quiet the hotel was, particularly pool side. We read books, soaked up the sun and snoozed, the biggest decision we had to make was what to have for lunch. The buffet food was delicious at breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a huge selection. We also enjoyed the 2 restaurants for an evening meals a little more special. Our room was spacious and kept clean, with beautiful sea views. We also enjoyed a massage at the spa on our last day (worth a visit). The customer service was second to none, they couldn't do enough for us which really made our holiday, in particular a lovely Bulgarian waiter (I think he was called John) great sense of humor! The entertainment wasn't amazing, fairly enjoyable, but we weren't there to party and were normally back in our room before 11pm! There were shops, restaurants, bars about 5 mins walk away for those who might want to get out. Everything a holiday should be, I'd 100% recommend.More

Very relaxing holiday

My wife and I just spent a week in the Atlantica imperial resort for couples and I have to say our trip was really good and enjoyable, the food was amazing, not only in the two a la carte restaurants but also in the buffet restaurant that variety of food is second to none, the preparation spot on and the waitress were absolutely brilliant!!!!. Our accommodation what can I say, the first night we were given the "wrong" but I have to say that the new room we were put in was amazing (even if it was a garden view one) as it was one of the new apartments they just built and I say, if you don't mind the view that is the room to rent, spacious, beautiful and with everything you want to have. The next day we were given a "better" room which you can say is the tale of two things, the interior and the exterior, the interior of the room was pretty average and everything there look old and in need of a renovation, but the exterior was brilliant, our own pool, own sunbeds, table and view were second to none. Moving on into the people and the service is very strange, because some people are amazing at service, poppy at the reception, ALL the waitress at the restaurants and at the spa were fantastic, very helpful and very amicable, but the relations manager and the barman (specially him) and the bar waitress were always in a rush and not very particularly happy to see you at any given time, I even got a told off because I ask for a couple of waters at 9:50 am instead of 10 am. The entertainment is also a little bit on the down side, but there are a couple of duets there that deserve every complement as they were very good, the wifi was also pretty average as it keep going up and down like a yoyo and for a geek like me that was not good enough. in all and all the hotel misses his 5 stars for a couple of details and people, but if you want fantastic food and just for couples, this Hotel should be somewhere in your top list!!! P.S the fact that when our bus to the airport pull out of every single hotel in the area was meet by a group of employees from the hotel waving good bye except for ours meant we felt left out..but this is me now being picky...lololol.More

Relaxing Greece at it's best

The quality of this hotel is apparent as soon as you arrive in reception with its four storey atrium with palm trees and waterfall. Set in stunning surroundings, it's spacious grounds easily accommodate guests wanting to sit by the pool, on the lawns or a stroll down to the beach (take your snorkel for great swimming) There is a windmill restaurant which hosted a small intimate wedding and the photographs would have been beautiful. All staff have typical Greek warmth and hospitality especially at the pool bar where you can congregate for a chat. Don't expect to diet, the food is very good quality and it's hard to know where to start with the variety and amount on offer. Treat yourself to a superior room, its worth it for the luxury compared to the normal rooms which are good but not as modern. The entertainment includes some live evening shows but is limited during the day and some evenings lacked a bit of a sing song so we headed into Kolymbia for more lively fun. Kolymibia is small with one main street of bars and restaurants but there are great tavernas on the harbour if you want to stroll away from the hotel. Don't miss a trip to Lindos on the Kolymibia express which is a local boat taking you out for seven hours, three hours in Lindos and the rest spent in various bays for swim stops which is definitely worth 30 euros. Rhodes old town can easily be reached by local transport, it's historic with a beautiful harbour and new town for shop till you drop, you can take the hotel trip but it's expensive. It's obvious that a lot of effort is put in by the staff to make this a great stay. Thankyou to everyoneMore

Very relaxing holiday

We found this hotel to be good in every way. Clean, well organized staff all greeting you with a genuine smile and hello. We stayed in a Couples Superior room with sea view. the room was spacious with a reasonable bathroom, the shower worked well at all times but it took a while to regulate it. The air con was also adequate even with the outside temps in the 80s. We went 1/2 board because when in Greece we usually hire a jeep type of car to explore and to enjoy tavernas around the island we are staying at but the food, entertainment (organized well by Anna) and relaxing time we were enjoying kept us in. The beach is small pebble and sand, you really need beach shoes, about 7 euros in the hotel shop, sun loungers cost 8 euros per day. water sports are reasonable cost. If you arrive during daylight hours don't be dismayed when you see earth moving equipment and building work going on opposite the front of the hotel it will not bother you at all. As far as I know all rooms face the other way with double glazed windows and corridors. It made no difference to us what so ever. We will be back.More
