The Atlantica Imperial Resort is in a really scenic spot. It's flanked by cliffs and pulled up against the sea. Better still, Kolymbia's Blue Flag sand-and-shingle beach is right on the doorstep, and you've got the bars and tavernas of Kolymbia town within a couple of minutes' walk.
Outside, a large swimming pool winds its way through the grounds. There’s a whirlpool bath, too, set among raised rockery. And thanks to the property’s seafront position, you can unwind within earshot of the waves. Best of all, the hotel is part of our Thomson Couples range, so the surroundings are child-free.
As for the bedrooms, they’ve been painted in soothing shades of cream and terracotta. For an added touch of luxury, plump for a beachfront Junior Suite – these come with muslin-draped four-poster beds and dark wood furniture.

Stayed in this hotel in August 2013. Lovely hotel. Great selection of food. Excellent setting right by the sea. We opted for a sea view room which was brilliant. The staff could not do enough for you. More
A Honeymoon to Remember
My Husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon in September 2013. Upon arrival in the early hours, we were handed a glass of bubbly and checked-in with no fuss. We discovered we'd been upgraded to a Junior Suite with a sea view and were taken to our room by a golf buggy! Our room was gorgeous - spacious and clean, and being able to sit outside listening to the sea was amazing. We couldn't believe how close our room was to the beach, pool, bar etc. and yet it was so peaceful! During our 7 night stay we went on a couple of excursions, but most of the time stayed around the hotel - wandering into the local town on a couple of occasions. We found all the staff to be extremely helpful and went above and beyond for us, nothing was too much trouble. No faults with the food, there was something for everyone. Every night had a different theme, but there was always the usual salads/english food for those that didn't want to experiment. We also had one evening in the a la carte restaurant, which was fantastic! We had a couple of treatments in the spa, which I would highly recommend. The treatments are a little pricey, but no more so than you get at home - and you're on holiday, so why not!? If we had to give a little criticism, it would be that the entertainment wasn't that great. There was a quiz on most evenings, and The Twinz were brilliant (not sure why they've received so much negativity on here!) but most of the other acts didn't really appeal to us. There was an act on one evening, I can't remember her name unfortunately, but her set seemed to consist of depressing/heartbreak songs (Sinead O' Connor "Nothing Compares" for example), not the sort of thing we were expecting on a feel-good holiday! We didn't mind though - the bar was open and fully stocked! The pool area was always clean, and I liked that the umbrellas had ashtrays attached, so no sign of cigarette butts lying around anywhere. There were a couple of days we struggled to find sunbeds, however there was plenty of space on the beach to lie a towel down for sunbathing - the sea was far warmer than the pool anyway! All in all we had the most fantastic honeymoon and have recommended the hotel to everyone! We definitely want to come back, however with a little one on the way it may be a few years before we get our wish! We will definitely be back at some point though!! Thank you for a fantastic time :0)More

A little bit of Paradise
My husband and I stayed at this adult only hotel in April 2013 with First Choice. We upgraded the room and had a duplex apartment where the bedroom was upstairs and we had a spacious lounge with comfy sofa and flat screen tv downstairs. The resort was gorgeous, plenty of sunbeds, free wifi in the rooms and even accessible by some parts of the pool. The all inclusive superb. The very first day we were drunk within two hours. Makes a change being somewhere the drinks are nice and strong and not watered down. There was a great food selection every night, and being a picky veggie with lots of allergies, I found a huge variety. One night we went to Greek night, it was Zorba's Dance, great fun! Not our usual thing but in April the resort was dead as were the others on the Island so it was nice having something to do. The island itself is lovely, we hired a car from the Rodos Cars desk within the hotel and had it for three days. It was brilliant driving around the Island which is easily done in a day. Just be aware during the Easter holidays is was very quiet everywhere. The staff at the hotel were superb, waiting staff and bar staff always eager to help. One of the first hotels where I actually would go back again, just for a nice quiet week off.More

Not a 5* hotel
I booked this holiday and I paid quite a lot to stay here with all-inclusive and a sea view room. We turned up and got shown to our room, it was clean and basic. We opened the curtain to look at our sea view. What we saw was a sliver of the sea above the chalet in front. We had paid extra for this and we were very disappointed with the lack of sea view. We complained to the tour operator who offered to move us half way through the week. We didn't want to uproot half way through our holiday! When I returned I made a complaint to the tour operator who told us that they advertised the sea view but in the A-Z of the terms and conditions it states that the sea view may be obstructed by buildings of trees. This was not drawn to my attention and it wasn't advertised as a partial sea view either. It is fine if it takes up very little of your sea view but there should be a limit! Be careful with booking sea views through Thomson. It isn't worth the money. The food was bulk cooked and was distinctly average. Sometimes we would have to wait a while to be seated for meals. The customer service at the tables was not 5* either. They would whisk the plates from under your nose with no conversation. Beware if you want to have a lounger on the beach you have to pay extra to a man in the hotel uniform! This seems very cheeky to have the hotel charging you extra when you have paid so much already. If you go here you will also need a car to travel the island. It is worth visiting Old Rhodes Town and Lindos. Basically stay in Lindos or Rhodes Town somewhere quaint rather than this supposed 5* resort.More

Another Fabulous Stay in the Imperial
I actually forgot to do a review after our Summer holiday in 2012. This was our second holiday in the Imperial, and we had booked a swim-up for 2 weeks to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We stayed All-Inclusive as it does give value for money taking into account the price of water, soft drinks and alcohol in the hotel. The swim up room and swim up experience were fantastic. The only issue we had was the siting of the room/pool in relation to the Sun. We only had the Sun for early and mid morning swims, after that, the Sun went behind the accommodation. So we actually spent most of our time down at the main pool and used our swim up before breakfast and the Jacuzzi for early evening (no Sun), own company and a glass of wine). Probably not the best value for money. The main pool was freezing even in July!!!! The grounds gave us enough space to be by ourselves and not tripping over everyone else. The staff were excellent throughout the complex, as was the food. We ate all our evening meals in the Atrium as it was more peaceful and atmospheric, rather than the slightly manic Dining Room. I ran outside most mornings, and there is actually a lot to see during the high season all along the coast (turn right outside the hotel and keep going, turning left takes you to the Atlantica Agean Blue and brings you around the village), as all the hotels and shops are open and there is a lot of people doing their own thing. I actually passed 2 quite old female pensioners sat on a bench on the nearby walking/running route, who were quite literally getting an ALL OVER tan, if you get my drift! I mean all over and not bothered by anyone passing - Well Done Girls!! LOL The entertainment is typical of Thompsons - always room for improvement. We spent most of our time chilling out on the upstairs terrace, very relaxing and constantly being looked after by very friendly waitresses, including Paris who worked really hard to ensure we, and everyone else wanted for nothing. We did try the Al-carte, but didn't buy into the 'Stone Grill' this time as we felt steak should really be part of the AL choice. But saying that, the service and quality of the staff and food was fantastic. We booked a late room on the check out day, and this was a very clean ground floor room right by the pool, so this let us enjoy the whole day and then a comfortable room to freshen up in prior to getting ready to check out. Overall, great 2 weeks, very relaxing, gained to much weight from the gorgeous desserts! Have booked to return this July, and apart from the positive reasons above, we are fundamental a private couple, and the space in the grounds allows us to either be by ourselves or socialise with others, rather than being force fed people in our faces.More
