Our holiday 27th September till 11th October

The actual hotel building is stunning. We arrived late on the Saturday night flying into Rhodes airport in a thunder storm. We were given a glass of fizz and cold towels. Check in very quick and our cases in the room before us. We had not had a meal but were left a bottle of water and a dried up sandwich in fridge which I didnt think was acceptable when you had left home 12 hours ago. Woke up Sunday morning and the view from our balcony was amazing you would never get bored looking at that view it was lovely watching the boats come in and water sports in the bay. The dining room is chaotic and meal times and personally think the dining room needs a move round to get food in proper order as you have to go to different areas for food which means that by the time you get to the table the food isnt hot. The real thing that gives this hotel its hedge is the staff from the cleaners to management all go the extra mile. Every morning when we went down to breakfast the cleaners were around and they were always smiling and saying good morning and really made the effort to talk to you we had some laughs with them trying to understand each other. And they do an excellent job in your room every day when we came back our room was immaculate could not fault the room. The best of the entertainment whilst we were there were the Drifters/motown group, el divo, the beatels and manic. Was dissappointed that we were not told by thompson that this hotel operated a cashless bar which i did not like as i like to order my drinks for a barman pay for it straight away and tip the waiter with the change. Did not like having to have an account so we ended paying daily for the day before bill. Because of this system for the first time ever we went out to drink and glad we did as Bacardi and coke hotel 8.5 euros as is a cocktail in the local bars cocktails were 4.50 euros as was bacardi and coke and we got nibbles as well. We chose not to upgrade to all inclusive as it was another £400 and we like to go out during the day and would not have had lunch and certainly would not spend £400 on alcohol. The plus side of going to the bars in the resort was we only spent half of our normal spend. It was a lovely gesture to have a free safe and also lovely to have a free fridge in the room to put our own alcohol in. I also think that Anna the entertainment manager is a real peoples person and is always happy and smiling. Also dissappointed that a lot of people that we talked to had a bottle of bubbly left in their room on arrival which we did not have. This hotel is not quite 5* but could so easily be there was not service round the pool would i come back I loved the hotel itself and the staff and the view is amazing so watch this space. As for the food there was always plenty so no reason for anyone not to eat somethingMore

Rhodes - a wonderful and relaxing week

We arrived just gone midnight at the hotel and was greeted with a glass of fizz and hot towel to refresh which was a nice touch. The hotel staff were very professional and the hotel was very clean and extravagant ( large trees in the atrium). The food was great- there was so much choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner ( it was definitely worth going all inclusive) all local drinks are inclusive including any cocktail and sparkling wine. They had themed nights including a gala night and traditional Greek night. We also ate at the al a carte restaurant which was included in our all inclusive deal ( once) this was really lovely and the food was amazing ( we paid for a bottle of wine) The beach was more shingle than sand but we preferred the pool anyway so this did not matter. Michael water sports is well worth a visit- he has his own sports hut directly on the beach of the hotel- we took a rib out for an hour (55 euros) and explored a couple of bays inc Tsambika beach- we also had a free use of a non motorised water sport. The entertainment laid on my Anna (Thompson rep) was really fun, especially the quizzes which started at about 9.30pm. We had a junior suite which was located away from the main hotel 10 metres from the beach. Very nice complete with day bed on the terrace. We would definitely returnMore

Relax in comfort

We have never been to Rhodes before but could not have selected a better hotel. The hotel is situated on a mixed sand and shingle beach but as we prefer the pool area anyway, this was fine. The bedrooms are really well set out and fairly luxurious. The maid service is excellent. The big surprise was the quality and quantity of food on offer in the main restaurant, which is where you not only get buffet type meals but also food being freshly cooked in front of your eyes. There are two A la carte restaurants but as we had gone half board we were a bit surprised that an allowance of only 7 euros was made against the cost of meals to eat in either restaurant, making it an expensive option. We did book one meal in one of them but decided the food in the main restaurant, especially with its theme nights, was far better.More
