We booked this hotel for a large family group with children of different ages. With the following points to note; Waterpark - Suits all ages! Swimming pools - Safe and shallow - but enough to be able to swim in too. Entertainment-This is set outdoors - it is great for the younger kids - but could be improved for the older children and adults- as it was mainly singing every night. Restaurant-Lots of choice - and plenty of change every day - the only downfall is the lack of puddings - the trick is to get your pudding plated up before your main meal - before they go! Drinks-Quite a good local choice. Rooms-There are no toiletries - apart from a soap dispenser on the wall! Overall ok but could do with updating in places - such as tiles broken/need re-grouting etc in bathroom. Towels could do with updating - quite worn and old. Water - You only receive one bottle of water a week - this should be replenished daily. Staff-Very friendly and helpful. Gym-Quite small - basic equipment. Wi-Fi-Not able to get in rooms very poor service-fine in main reception areas. Beach-Very basic - mainly stoney - not wide - but enough to sit and enjoy. Overall good choice for families with younger children - we wouldn't recommend it to couples who want a peaceful holiday though as it is a family orientated place!More

Good spot for a relaxed holiday

Before you read any further: if you want to go clubbing don’t go to Kolymbia but get a hotel in/near Faliraki. However, if you’re looking for a good sea-side spot for a relaxed holiday or a great base to travel around the island do read further, you could certainly consider staying in this hotel! The hotel is large and built around a large garden with a big swimming pool. The hotel is not really a beautiful building, but the garden and pool do look like the photos. Besides the pool there is a large field next to the beach with sunbeds. The hotel also has a water park. Rooms were fine. Do reserve a room with sea view (as sea view is also pool view)! Otherwise you might end up looking at other buildings as the hotel consist of a mail building and at two sides of the pool two (!) separate buildings with rooms. One side of the two building overlooks the pool, the others look at each other or the surroundings of the hotel. The location Kolymbia, is an area that consists of hotels and shops/bars aimed at the visitors of the hotels. In case you like to visit the island the location is ideal: situated between Rhodes city (25 km, a must visit when on the island) and Lindos (25 km). We stayed for two weeks in September. The weather was great, we did enjoy the hotel and also took the time to see the island. As said the pool area does look great. Sunbeds at the pool area were available at any time of the day. Though the pool is large, note that the depth of the pool does not exceed 1,40 meters. But it does not have to be deeper in order to be able to swim. In case you want deeper water there’s always the sea. In case you like beaches, do visit the Tsambika beach at the other side of the mountain next to the hotel. An enormous sandy beach, without hotels. It is nearly always possible to eat something in the hotel, even between 23:00 and 00:30!! Every day has another themed buffet. When staying more than one week, the themes are the same but the food does differ! Most people should be able to find something they like every day, with a choice between fish, meat, chicken, salads and so on. Additionally it is possible to eat once in one of the two a la care restaurants of the hotel AND also in the a la carte restaurants of the other hotels of the same hotel brand in the area. We ate among others in the Asian restaurant in the hotel, which was excellent and highly recommended! The hotel has grown on us during our stay. Not all things were excellent, but those things (eg. softdrinks are not brands, relatively limited choice in cocktails) can be overcome. Main reason for the great feeling of the hotel is the staff; they are extremely friendly and really are doing their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. That includes a big thumps up for the trainees!!! If you consider this hotel you might also want to consider the holiday village from the same brand across the street. That hotel does look nice, but is not located at the beach… We liked the view of the pool and the beach from the terraces. After a two weeks stay we were certainly pleased with our choice of hotel and did have a great holiday. More

Totally fabulous hotel

We stayed here for a week on September and had a totally fabulous holiday. We booked this with Thomson and we traveled with out 3 year old daughter and 3 month old son. The check in/arrival process was brilliant - so organised and welcoming with a golf buggy porter service that took us and our luggage to our room. The room was clean, spacious and with a lovely view from the balcony. The whole hotel is immaculately maintained and clean. The food in the main buffet restaurant was great - huge selection and great quality with themed nights. The pool snack bar also had a great selection of food with the greek gyros proving to be a popular choice for an afternoon snack! The pools are great and the water park excellent - we had so much fun on the water slides every afternoon. Our daughter also loved the children's evening entertainment and both Thomson holiday reps and hotel staff are very friendly. We wouldn't normally go back to the same hotel twice - but this place we would definitely return to when our children are old enough to go on the bigger water slides with us!More

Fantastic Holiday

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel in September 2015 and were impressed from start to finish. We were greeted with champagne and cold beer then showed to our room which was very clean , spacious and modern. The room had a stocked fridge with bottles of water, orange juice and pop which was all free of charge. We also had fresh towels everyday when the room was cleaned. The food at the hotel was fantastic , great choices and something for everyone. The dining room staff were friendly and really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The all inclusive food was great but the cocktails and beer left a lot to be desired especially in the pool bar but despite this service was always with a smile and very quick with no long cues. The daily activities were great fun i participated in the aqua zumba and aerobics most days and my partner played football ,volleyball and water polo all of which were superbly organized and also varied throughout the stay. We went for the al la carte Mexican one evening and it was divine! We could barely walk on the walk home our bellies were so full it was very indulgent indeed. The grounds of the hotel were kept very clean at all times and we would like to thank the staff for making our stay so special. The only criticism we had for the hotel was there were no free weights in the gym which was a real disappointment as such a great amount of attention to detail had gone into everything else. The multi gym is inadequate and a small addition of free weights would really make the difference. All in all an amazing holiday , i would definetley recommend this hotel to families and couples of all ages.More

Great for Families

We stayed at this hotel during the last week of September 2015 as a couple. The food was fantastic, bed and pillows were very comfy which is a rare treat. We had a lovely meal at the Asian restaurant too, well worth a visit. The only down fall was the number of children. It was not school holiday time however it was rare to see a couple without children. We didnt bother with the pool as it was full of children and dads with water guns. We swam in the sea instead which was great for snorkelling around the rocks. The entertainment was only aimed at families except for a short time at night. The only saving grace was the singer - Mack Knight? who did a session in the lobby on many nights and was excellent. We found the staff excellent (hotel and Thomson) and eager to please. The trip to Lindos and Rhodes old town is recommended to get a proper flavour of Greece. The local area is very run down which is a shame.More
