Amazing family holiday!

The hotel is absolutely amazing! We arrived at the hotel with our 1,5 year old and were pretty tried. Luckily, we received our hotel room early and our baby was able to sleep comfortably at noon. The room size was very nice and it was very very clean, as well the bathroom and balcony. The service of the hotel was amazing at all times! We wanted to order for our wedding anniversary an "A la card" restaurant for the next day, which was a bit late for ordering, but they made it possible. Upon returning to our room, we found a nice fruit plate and wine bottle gift incl. a personal note for our anniversary. The hotel grounds were very clean and the pools and water park were just amazing and we had a lot of fun. Our baby loves water so she enjoyed the holiday a lot. The beach is not big, but nice even though most times we spent at the pool area. The playgrounds have good locations and were clean and nice as well. The evening animations for the babies, toddlers and kids were lovely. The playrooms were also great. The hotel offers a daycare center, for a few hours, but we didn't use it. Last but not least, the food was delicious at all times!!! The different food themes were wonderful. The notes next to the food is a great idea to explain to the people with food allergies what they are eating or what should be avoided. The kids menu was various and tasty as well, though instead of Spaghetti they should offer smaller pasta. The hotel offered us to take fruits and food for the baby with us incl. the plastic dishes. While planning a trip outside the hotel, you can register for free for a food basket. The hotel has bottle sterilizers, baby changing rooms near the pool, and in general thinks about families till the smallest detail. After prolonging our stay in our room on the day of check-out, the hotel offered us to get a different room for 2 hours, that our baby can take a nap and shower there. This was totally free of charger! Thank you again for it. After we got stuck in the airport 7 hours longer, than we were suppose to, this noon nap, saved us! The only two minuses we found was the temperatures of the pools. It could have been a touch warmer. As well I suggest to add a shadow roof over the playgrounds. We were so happy with the hotel, that a month later, a few other family members decided to book this hotel for their holiday. We will definitely come back as well.More

5 star holiday

Stayed here with my wife in early October 2015. Beautiful grounds with a lovely pool and amazing water park. Hotel room was stunning with great views. Staff were very friendly and very quick with the drinks. Lovely cocktail selection. Food was immense with a massive variety which suited both our tastes. We did however upgrade to the Atlantica Imperial whilst in Kolimbia after having a walk around the little town. The reason we upgraded as the Imperial is amazing and adult Only. There are a lot of kids at the Aegean Blue which is to be expected but we naively believed that as the kids in the UK had gone back to school it might have less kids. This is not true as there was Germans, Fins, Spanish, Greeks, Scott, Irish, English and Welsh kids. Would recommend this hotel to families as beautiful and the kids entertainers were brilliant.More

This hotel exceeded all expectations!

Stayed here sept 19th- October 1st, me my husband and 1 year old son and my parents, the rooms were AMAZING we had an adjoining hallway with another door to outside so once that was shut both doors were opened and my son could go from our room to my parents room, was fantastic (I think room number was 1304a) we arrived late and was told at midnight there would b a buffet and welcome drinks, thought that was a lovely touch! For an all inclusive family holiday I think you'd struggle to find somewhere that tops it! If your looking for a couples resort where you sit having your head dabbed with a cold flannel then don't book this hotel, but for families and children of all ages it's great! Food selection is brilliant, different themes each night and so much choice it's mind blowing even small details like Mexican night they have tequila and lemon on the table as you enter I thought that was good! All inclusive drinks aren't amazing but fantastic for all inclusive! And they offer children's cocktails I think the best part of the holiday was the ala carte restaurants me and my husband chose the Asian for our anniversary and I was so shocked how good it was, before we arrived I emailed Lauren who is honestly the hotels diamond, she really is something else in the level of care she has and she works so many hours I felt for her, I told her it was our anniversary and she gave us an extra visit so we booked the Italian too which was nice but personally the Asian restaurant is a nicer feel, more romantic 😘 The other major point is you HAVE to make time to book a dine around experience, it made the holiday, we went to what I think was called green on the grill and couldn't believed we had the food and service we did for free!!! Never had anything like that from a hotel! Also if you walk out the hotel and turn left walk to the first crossing and you see a taverna it's beautiful food and very reasonably priced if u fancy getting out the hotel, we did a few nights and was lovely We also visited the village a few nights and had some lovely meals and Rhodes town was beautiful! They offer a little pups session at 7 for young children then a disco after then entertainment there's entertainment all day going on And also a soft play area inside the hotel All the staff were amazing and fantastic at there jobs I've never written such along review but I really felt the need to rave about this place as we were all so shocked by how good it was One thing I recommend is they offer a package for returning home, we paid to have a v.i.p lounge at the airport, if we hadn't of done this it would of ruined the end of my holiday! They checked us in And took us to a all inclusive lounge air conditioned while we watched people queue out the airport doors in the heat, that was €40 each but worth every euro!!! Thank you Aegean blue for our first family holiday that was out of this world! And thank you Lauren for our upgraded room and making our anniversary so special!!!! XxxxMore

NOT a 5* resort I would not recommend

Worst holiday I have ever had . This is no way a 5 star resort . We have travelled all over and this did not live upto expectations . Poor food , drink and entertainment . We wanted to return home after just 1 day . Very poor value for money . Ok if you like eating gyros and chips every lunchtime I supposeMore

5 star family 3 star adults!

We spent a week here as a family 2 adults and 2 kids 4 and 6 in October 2015. As the title suggests its a great hotel for familys with kids, if we went as adults only it would have been fine but its no 5 star hotel. Hotel transfer via coach is about 50 minutes away, hotel is the far end of Kolymbia about a 10 minute walk from the centre. Kolymbia is a very small resort, October is the end of the season but everything was still open just dont expect masses of bars/restaurant and shops. That said you could still eat and drink at a differnent bar/restuarant every night should you choose! Back to the hotel, we had a family room with partial sea view, it was mostly a pool view with a wee bit of sea but thats what i expected! Would recommen the mountain view rooms, as that is picturesque also it gets the sun in the afternoon. The rooms we nice, balcony at far end, then the kids beds, separated by sliding doors from the main room with our bed/tv/ kettle etc. Bed was king size and very comfy! tv didnt have many english channels but we werent there for tv. Bathroom had plenty of room, bathtub with shower and separate shower. Hotel has a few pools, one baby pool that about 2 feet of water, 1 small pool for water polo etc and 1 big pool that starts shallow and goes down through bridges to a 1.5m deep end. The kids loved the pools and spent most of the day here, the waterpark which is part of the hotel was another big hit, there is small slides for toddlers with bigger slides for kids 1.4m and over. there is also a lazy river going round it. the lifegaurds were great and very friendly with the kids. The kids club is really good, it is open 2 hours in the morning or afternoon 6 days a week and you can book the kids in for chocolate party, pizza party etc 3 nights a week 6pm-9pm. the staff are wonderful, its run by thomsons, the kids have a great time and is brilliant for them to make friends with and then play at the pool with. It also allows you some precious time alone!! The hotel is all inclusive which has pros and cons! its great for the kids they can go up to the bars (which has steps) and order drinks/ice cream, my wee man loved the independance! the restaurant has a kids section with chicken dippers/chips/fruit etc and a tv if the kids get bored. The main restaurant rotates its menu every night, italian/greek etc some nights were better than others but you could always find something to eat. Given the amount of people to cater for the food was always pretty good. You can also eat down by the pool which does sandwhiches burgers etc. You can eat once a stay at the a la carte restuarnt which was a nice change. Daytime entertainment was good, football/archery/swimming etc gym is small but nothing wrong with it. Evening entertainment starts at 7pm for the kids and goes to 9pm. Its good but gets a little repetative, after 9 there is a quiz and then a singer/band of some sort to around 10.30pm. We watched a couple of times but perhaps it was cause the kids were tired but were werent that impressed. There wasnt much else to do if you didnt have any kids 10.30 is too early for bed for just adults! hotel has small strip of beach at the bottom although its mainly small stones, there is a larger more sandy strip just along although we didnt use it. You can walk up the mountain, walk along the beach to get to it and follow the path up it, its quite rocky so wear trainers! depending how fit your are will take about 30 mins to get up to the top. Hotel staff were very friendly, was very clean nothing to complain about, was quiet at night no proble sleeping. Out and about we went to star bar i think it was called, it was great had football/rugby on multiple tv's, a mini kids playpark bouncy castle to keep them amused. We hired a taxi for a tour of the island, we went up to rhodes old town and down to lindos, stopped of at olive farm/shop. Was good and would definately recommend. Would we go back - yes it was great for the kids they loved as did we!More
