Good throughout

As voiced by others, end of season & staff still made residents feel special, nothing was too much. Kids club did sound better from next door but kid of 4 didn't notice so I'd say this was better than the village hotel next door (their spa staff are good over there). Decent food choices (good soup), no queues for water slides, and sea was warmer than the pools so we were down there a bit. For me the backing on to the beach wins it. YyMore

Hotel good overall, Thomsons however, not so good

I went to this hotel in the middle of September with my partner. We thought the hotel looked lovely in the brochure and on the internet, and although it was expensive (the holiday cost us £2,500) we hoped it would be worth it. However, on arrival at 3.30am, we were tired, and all we wanted was to collapse in our bed. We were shown to our deluxe room (which we had paid an extra £280 for) and were in for our first disappointment. The room itself was fine, but the patio/garden area was diabolical. We complained the next morning to James, our rep, who said that we knew that the deluxe rooms were on the ground floor (which I did know as I had read their description on the website and in their brochure). However, the deluxe rooms were down some steps from the ground floor, which to me indicates at the least, a semi-basement. We looked out onto a wall from our delightful mud/grass garden area and next doors hotel overlooked us. There were no partitions between any of the rooms, therefore, there was no privacy or security. After complaining, James spoke to the guest relations manager who agreed to move us that day. We were moved to a standard room on the second floor overlooking a walkway between two blocks of rooms. On our return home, I complained to Thomson via email and asked for a refund on the extra that we had paid for the room and for the inconvenience too (we lost the first day of the holiday by all this rearranging, and were very close to just coming home as we were so upset). Thomson and I have exchanged a few emails since our return, and twice they have refused to refund anything to us as they say other people didn't complain! All we wanted was a refund on the difference between a standard room and a deluxe room. We are not normally the type of people who complain, but Thomson (who are probably one of the biggest and richest travel companies in the world) have no aftercare for dissatisfied customers! I will say that the hotel itself did have some good points. The hotel and the room was clean, the food was great and the staff were brilliant, especially Linda, one of the waitresses in the bar, and the restaurant manager. Also, the waterpark was great fun. There wasn't much to do outside the hotel in the evening, the walk to the village was about 15mins. The entertainment was what you expect from a European all inclusive hotel. However, although we knew it was a family hotel, we did go outside the school holidays, so we were expecting it to be a bit quieter with some children there, but not full of children. We couldn't have been more wrong! I think everyone decided to take their kids out of school and took them when we were there! All nationalities, English, Dutch, Germans, Russian and Scandinavians and others too. The English were the only people with any manners, and even they weren't great. All in all, it was an ok holiday, but we wouldn't want to go back.More

Fantastic place

11 nights at the hotel and we enjoyed it all the time. We have travelled with 5 month old baby in October and have to say that the hotel (and the weather for the first week) was perfect. Our room was upgraded to a family superior on arrival at no extra cost, check in very fast and efficient. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and public areas, no disturbing smells in the public toilets. Only disappointment was the temperature of the water in the hotel swimming pools, I hoped that 5 star hotel would have at least 1 heated swimming pool but there was none. Even jacuzzi had cold water (20C) which wasn't nice nor relaxing experience. Fantastic food - fresh and good variety, real coffee was good.More

Magdalena S,

Family holiday

We chose this hotel for our family holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. It was excellent for everyone, young and not so young, with so many positives. The location is superb being on the beach which is sand and pebbels and good for swimming. We had a complementary voucher for the water sports on the beach although we didnot have time to use it! The gardens and facilities were first class, immaculately maintained and the four swimmming areas always spotless and the water crystal clear, if cold but we were there the last week in October. The bedroooms were very spacious with every comfort and the beds were large and very comfortable. We had a view over the pools and towards the sea but the views were spectacular in most directions. The food was outstanding. Incredible choice and beautifully presented. Meals are buffet style but there was always a special theme, including asian with sushi, and chefs to cooks you fresh portions, including breakfast with omelette or waffles. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Our family included children of 3 and 10. We used the creche and made great use of the fantastic water park attached to the hotel but separate enough to avoid too much noise. Thank you to the staff who were always friendly and helpful. We had a birthday party and and anniversary dinner and they made every effort to make things special. Superb!More
