An introduction to Melistra Villa
These traditionally stone built villas are set in beautifully picturesque surroundings - the views over Navarino Bay and Pylos will leave you in awe. The Avlaki and Melistra villas have tiled floors throughout and light wood furnishings giving a very modern but simple and comfortable feel. The location of the villas could not be better for a break from the daily grind of work, and despite being a short car journey to the beach or restaurant, it is not completely out in the sticks.
In spring and autumn enjoy leisurely walks in the surrounding olive groves which offer fantastic views over the Navarino Bay or wander around the stunning Divari Lagoon which has a wealth of birdlife including marsh harriers, kingfishers and, during migration, flamingos. There is also a host of interesting sites to visit. The Venetian/Turkish castles of Pylos, Methoni and Koroni and Nestor's Palace - one of the kings who went to Troy to try and reclaim Helen, Queen of Sparta - are all within an hour's drive. Should you want to do something a little closer to home, take a 30 minute walk up the hill to be rewarded with incredible views over Navarino Bay.
