Koroni

An introduction to Koroni

These spectacular villas are adjacent to each other on a fairly steep slope, designed to give maximum privacy. The elegant cream neo-classical facades with their green shutters stand out beautifully against the olive tree-studded hillside, especially when the sun glints on the blue water of the villas' pools. The interiors have stylish wooden ceilings, cool tiled floors, pretty colour-coordinated furnishings and well-equipped open plan kitchens. All three villas have a balcony with a retractable canopy to provide shade at the height of the day.

The villas are situated on a hill with views across the olive groves to the sea beyond, in an even more unspoilt and tranquil location than our other Gialova villas along a steepish unmade track. The small and bustling village of Gialova is just a few minutes' drive away as well as a whole host of some of the best beaches in the Southern Peloponnese. Windsurfing is available on nearby Golden Beach but if that sounds too energetic Voidokilia Beach, just a little further on, is totally unspoilt. This gorgeous beach actually translates as Cow Belly bay and as it forms part of the protected nature reserve of Divari Lagoon you won't see any sunbeds or umbrellas blemishing its natural beauty. The area around the villas is perfect for walking and cycling and there are many unknown spots to discover. In early and late season a morning walk to the nearby waterfall will get the day off to an unusual start. The unassuming village of Schinolaka is a couple of kilometres up the hill and the whole area is full of olive trees. Most of the trees produce the small Kalamon olives that make the famous Kalamata olive oil, the area's main agricultural product. If you travel in October you may see the farmers hard at work collecting the crop and a visit to an olive oil factory is another way to learn more about this wonderful region.
