A traditional-style villa that’s as classy as they come.
Beautifully restored, this typically Greek villa sits in gorgeous green grounds, peppered with swishing trees and lawns. Painted in primrose-yellow with a terracotta-tiled roof, the front of the house is trimmed with a sprawling veranda. With a dining table and chairs, it’s perfect for al fresco meals or simply sitting with a chilled glass of wine.
And when you really want to cool off, head for your large private pool with Roman steps. Sunk in to a smart sun terrace, it’s flanked by sun loungers, parasols and a barbecue area.
When you really want to escape the heat though, step inside. A cool, roomy oasis, the open-plan living space is stylish with a capital ‘S’. It’s all wood polished floors and traditional furnishings. There’s a relaxing lounge area with a sink-into sofa, floor-to-ceiling windows and a traditional feature fireplace.
A sophisticated dining area seating six. And a separate kitchen equipped with table and chairs. You’ll also find two good-sized bedrooms, one twin and a double, and an elegant marble bathroom with a roomy corner bath.
Head up the wooden stairs and there’s second sitting area and a balcony with sea views. And the third double bedroom is also up here, with its own en suite and a private balcony looking down over the pool. A truly charming villa within easy reach of the beach and Lefkas Town, the Ermis is a great Greek escape.

Your guide to Aghios Ioannis, Lefkas
"A quiet, largely undeveloped area with sands stretching for over 5km – indisputably the best beaches on the island."
Aghios Ioannis is developing rapidly as the second most popular windsurfing area on the island, with the most popular being the famous town of Vassiliki. The bay at Aghios Ioannis sits on the north coast between the lagoon and windmills at Moni Faneromenis – about a 2km walk away – and the popular island capital of Lefkas Town on the northwest tip. Theoretically, Lefkas is not a true island as it is linked to the mainland by a narrow isthmus where in the eighth century BC the Corinthians dug a canal. Today it is connected by way of a swing bridge, however it still retains an island atmosphere but with the added advantage of being close to the magnificent mountains of western Greece. Behind the beach at Aghios Ioannis are many bars, cafés and traditional Greek tavernas including one that has been converted from an old windmill. If it’s shops you require head for nearby Lefkas Town where the main shopping area has been pedestrianised, running through the centre of the town down to the north harbour. The shops are set in a higgledy-piggledy fashion with fish and chip shops next door to smart boutiques, and fruit and vegetable shops jostling for space between jewellery shops – a true shopaholic’s paradise.

We have stayed on lefkada many times before but this is the first time in the town of lefkas. It is obvious that this villa was somebodies home, not just a purpose built holiday villa. However the villa, pool and gardens were kept very clean. The villa... more on this review
