Here you get 2 great pools, plus a peaceful setting within walking distance of Kos Town.
With its turrets and archways, this place looks like a Venetian castle. It comes with 2 large pools, one of which has a swim-up bar. And there's a great little taverna.
The hotel’s in a peaceful spot beside Psalidi beach. And it’s less than a 5-minute drive into the capital, Kos Town. You can walk there in half an hour – the route is especially pretty.

A lovely Hotel
This is the first time we have visited this hotel and in fact Kos. We were looking for a relaxing holiday to just chill out for 2 weeks. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the very friendly staff who were only to happy to assist you. We arrived later than expected so missed dinner, but the staff had ensured there was a plate of food available for us as we had not eaten for a while. The food at the hotel is very good and there is a plentiful selection that suits everyone's palate. The desserts were particularly tasty and well presented. There are three pool areas one being a children's pool and 2 full size ones. They are very clean and set in beautiful grounds making it a pleasure to sit in the sun. There are plenty of sun beds and a parasol for every two beds. I cannot fault the hotel. There is an animation team who provide games and exercise for those who wish to partake. The guys Olga and George and latterly Greta are enthusiastic and full of fun but are not obtrusive when asking people to join them. They work very hard to make your holiday fun and entertaining so much so that we ended up playing some of the games they offered ( i had to work off some of the calories eaten in the restaurant!). There are 3 different bars one of which is a fever a that sells food and drinks at the pool area. All the staff are friendly and attentive. We particularly enjoyed evenings in the top bar near reception where the barman Dimitrious tended to any drink you would like. He is friendly and funny too. As previously stated the hotel is set in its own manicured and well maintained grounds. There are a couple of bars and restaurants nearby but the majority of establishments are a short 25 minute walk into Kos town which has everything you would want for the more adventurous and seasoned traveller. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break with everything you need to enjoy your time away. You need to seriously consider this hotel if you are coming to Kos.More
You HAVE to stay in the Platanista Hotel Kos- amazing!
So we are back two weeks from this incredible hotel. It's a five star all the way. Most Hotels of this calibre lack atmosphere. This doesn't.. we are returning in September!!! If you want class and homeliness stay here!More
My husband and I have just returned from our second visit to this hotel. This was a hotel where we said we wouldn't hesitate to return to as it was excellent in all regards. Our first visit was in 2014. This hotel is expertly run, from the housekeeping to restaurant and reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very friendly. The food, once again surpassed our expectations - always plenty of choice and well cooked. We hired bikes for 2 days, excellent value at 5 euros each per day, although we also walked into Kos Town which took a leisurely 30 mins. A lovely walk along the seafront with a gentle breeze along the way. You can always get a cab back if you do not want to walk which cost us 8 euros. We paid 45 euros for a late check out as we were not being picked up on our last day until 8.30 p.m. and this was well worth the money as we could enjoy the pool and not have to think about getting ready or packing until much later. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel - you will not be disappointed.More
Late spring break, perfect stay!
We visited Hotel Platanista in late April and had an absolutely amazing stay! Our room was clean, lovely and had a great view of the hills the hotel and the sea! I was 14 Weeks pregnant at the time and fell a little ill and the staff could not have been more lovely! I had breakfast delivered to my room in case I would miss it due to sickness and they checked the food for me every night! It was a lovely walk into the town and there is a fantastic car hire place not a short walk from the hotel that was excellent! Would love to go back and would recommend this hotel to anyone new to Greece/Kos who would like to get to know the area.More
Brilliant hotel and would fully recommend it.
I am just back from staying a week at the Platanista with my partner and we thoroughly enjoyed it. (the tall Northern Irish bloke) The hotel was spotless, well laid out and very presentable. The staff were very friendly and hard working, especially the crew in the dining room. The food was great, very varied and both breakfast and evening meals were spot on. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious with dressing gowns, slippers, safe, wi fi, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities, etc. (my only minor gripe was that only one or 2 teabags were left each day - no milk or sugar at all). The cleaning staff did a great job every day leaving the room immaculate. We usually hit the small beach directly across the road which is hotel owned and is 5 euros pp for day. It was a cracking wee beach but may not suit swim lovers as it is rocky at the waters edge and is fairly shallow. I noticed that there were an abundance of sunbeds around the hotel pools which is more than enough for guests. To be honest, hotel entertainment is not our thing so I can't really comment on same. Kos town centre is about a 20 minute walk away with a car/bike/scooter hire shop yards away with very reasonable rates. We hired bikes out and rode into Kos and down the coast to other resorts. (eat your heart out, Bradley Wiggens). I have stayed at many hotels as I have been around the block a few times and the Platanista is easily in my top list. A quick mention to the barman, Demetrius, who despite being sometimes extremely busy, chats away while serving other guests. Great guy.More
