A central location - you're just 10 minutes' stroll from Kos Town - and great service gives the Poseidon Hotel the edge. There's also a small pool and low-key entertainment like quizzes and barbecues.
The Poseidon Hotel puts all of Kos’ best bits on your doorstep. The property is just a ten-minute walk from the town centre, and it takes the same time to get to the beach.
The hotel is well-known for its welcoming atmosphere. At the swimming pool, guests get talking to each other over cocktails from the bar.
Bedrooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. They all come with tea and coffee-making facilities, so you can enjoy a hot drink on your balcony at the start of the day.
The Poseidon Hotel has been in business for 30 years so they’ve got customer service down to a fine art. The staff have a reputation for being friendly and helpful and they pull out all the stops to entertain on the weekly barbecue, party and quiz nights.

The major evening event held here is a Barbecue party night. It's a weekly occasion when the Poseidon Staff pull all out all the stops to make it a great night. It all starts with some outstanding barbecue delights which have been specially herbed and spiced along with a salad buffet accompaniment. Following this, the night then begins with songs and dancing plus a few surprises along the way.

Great value for money
We just returned today and i was determined to have my say about Poseidon. I stayed here because I'd read so many excellent reviews and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. Toula and Ange are very REAL hosts and very decent people, although we didn't really take as much a part of things as lots of other folk they treated us just as kindly as if we had, I even got a hug from Toula as we left and felt it was a genuine warm farewell. If you go expecting luxury rooms you will not be happy, if you were hoping for cordon blue food it's not going to happen and if you're looking for an olympic sized pool forget it. If you are the sort that will look for reasons to be unhappy then I'm sure you'll be delighted as it's not perfect. It was however perfect for us, and for many others. The staff are fantastic, work like worker bees all day long cleaning rooms, tidying away and making the place run as well as it does, this includes both owners who seem to be omnipresent and know exactly what's going on, always a good thing. In short we had a fantastic holiday thanks to everyone at Poseidon and we will be back, next time we'll hire a car though as we didn't do the island justice. One final thought, we only really understood how good the Poseidon was on the last day when we visited lots of others we'd seen advertised as our transfer coach picked people up, some of them looked awful compared to the Poseidon and they were the same star rating. Thank you Toula and Ange for a lovely stay and for your hard work. We will be back! Nige, Pip and LivMore
A wonderful holiday to remember
In terms of value for money, you'd be hard pressed to better the Poseidon in Kos Town. A good, facility for families or couples, with excellent variety of food (delicious I have to add!) and drinks at the bar are competitively priced (take advantage of the cocktails in happy hour!). Our apartment was spotless and we received clean towels every day. The hotel is also ideally positioned within walking distance of the main resort area of Kos Town but far enough away not to have your sleep disturbed at night. The jewel in the crown lies with the people who work at the hotel. Ange and his wife Toula are fantastic hosts, who couldn't do more to make you welcome during your stay - and the same can be said for all the staff. They are all absolutely first class and all take part in the hotel's Greek Night on a Monday, which is a must if you want a good night! We had an excellent holiday and we will definitely be returning.More

Basic, dated but good base
We had a one bedroom for 4 people which was small and somewhat cramped. We were 2 adults travelling with 2 small children so was manageable but not ideal. Kitchen equipment was adequate and fit for purpose. Bathroom was âwet roomâ style with shower curtain, common in Greece, water/heat all fine. Free A/C was a bonus and worked well. We were on the 3rd floor, not ideal for family with small kids, but not the end of the world. My real concern was the âslimlineâ balcony the pool facing 1 bedroom apartments had, not ideal for toddlers or young ones. You could only fit a chair on the balcony, so would only take a curious toddler to stand on the chair then over! See pics of balcony. I did ask to change rooms in fairness and was offered non and pool facing on ground floor right near to the loungers. We chose to keep doors locked and to stay put after all. Diana was more than happy to accommodate though and very amenable. Family run, daughter and husband were nice and chatty, wife not overly keen in changing â¬50 notes though. Not sure why! By far the nicest staff here was Diana (Brit I think) the AM reception lady and the 2 maids who were sisters. They were so lovely to us when our little one had a poorly night, really lovely and a redeeming credit and feature of the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Canât praise them enough. The hotel itself is bit dated, basic, old fashioned décor in need of updating. Obviously a favourite with regulars and perfectly ok. Didnât eat at the hotel so canât comment on food, cooked breakfast is only available after 10am, before that is continental breakfast for â¬5.00pp / kids free. Drinks choice in bar good and reasonably priced. Location is good and about 15-20 mins into town. Iâm so glad that we could use the facilities of the Peridis hotel next door as I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the Poseidon, size of pool etc. Despite there being signs saying not to reserve loungers with towels this was done every day, so no room round the pool. The Peridis hotel was fantastic, lots of space, excellent pool facilities, Jacuzzi, slide, great staff and lovely food. We choice to go to the BBQ night here and were glad we did. â¬15pp unlimited buffet BBQ kids free. I wouldnât stay at the Poseidon again, its not for us. Iâd like to say that itâs cheap and cheerful, but then again 1500k isnât cheap! Its good for a base, and use the Peridis facilities! Might be bit cheeky to some but your holiday is what you make it, and Iâm glad we did!More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks from 12th aug to 26 aug. We stayed in a hotel room, and if we were to visit again we would probably get an apartment. Our room was quite small which was fine for us as all we needed was a base, however if you are wanting to spend a lot of time in the room and eat in the room then you would be better with an apartment. The free air con is brill and the rooms are kept really clean, the tv in the room is good too. All the staff are really friendly and really helpful, and the barbecue and party night on Monday's is a lot of fun! We went both Monday's we were there. We got a sun bed most days and we would go outside about 10am so you don't have to be up mega early to get one. Personally, the only problem I had is that I love to be in the sun all day and there are no sun beds that are in the sun all day. The pool is also very clean and doesn't get too busy. As for Kos Town, this was our first visit too Kos and we loved it. It is a lovely resort with something for everyone. There are clubs and bars if you want it lively but there are also lots of nice relaxed bars and restaurants. Our favourite restaurant was Broadway which was recommended by our rep, it's so friendly and the food is really good. I'm a vegetarian and there was a lot of choice here for me, where as some other restaurants we visited I only had the option of pizza. Our favourite bar was harem which is on the beachfront, they do amazing cocktails and have lots of different shisha flavours. We also rented a buggy while we were there which meant we got to see some more of the island and a few other resorts. Lambi beach is the best beach and if you get food or drinks from the beach bars you get sun beds free. Overall I thought the hotel was great and kos town is a great resort, I would definitely return!More
our week at the Poseidon hotel
We stayed at the Poseidon for a week we arrived late in the evening we got a warm welcome from the staff. It is a family hotel run by brothers and wife's the BBQ party on a Monday night was so much fun do go if u get the chance. The room we stayed in 317 was facing the main rd so the traffic was bad but u soon get use to it. The bathroom could do with some TLC and the beds in the lounge area could be better. We couldn't leave food near sink area due to so many ants which ran along the outer wall I think this needs to be looked in too. The door to our apartment is glass and it let's so much light in in the morning my son and girlfriend who were sleeping in the lounge had to put a blanket over it ever night which was a pain. We notice a few others on the same floor doing the same tip for the owners curtain on doors would help. The curtain on the windows didn't close together because their was only one on each window. The snack bar was good bar prices not bad happy hour on cocktails was brill. The staff very helpful and friendly. We wanted to go round the pool but notice that all the sunbeds had towles on which for some hours was not used. The maids were lovely did a fan job. We would stay again but maybe in hotel side. Kos is beautiful place and lots to see we hired quad bike it was the best way to see the island. Thanks you all at the PoseidonMore
