A central location - you're just 10 minutes' stroll from Kos Town - and great service gives the Poseidon Hotel the edge. There's also a small pool and low-key entertainment like quizzes and barbecues.
The Poseidon Hotel puts all of Kos’ best bits on your doorstep. The property is just a ten-minute walk from the town centre, and it takes the same time to get to the beach.
The hotel is well-known for its welcoming atmosphere. At the swimming pool, guests get talking to each other over cocktails from the bar.
Bedrooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. They all come with tea and coffee-making facilities, so you can enjoy a hot drink on your balcony at the start of the day.
The Poseidon Hotel has been in business for 30 years so they’ve got customer service down to a fine art. The staff have a reputation for being friendly and helpful and they pull out all the stops to entertain on the weekly barbecue, party and quiz nights.
The major evening event held here is a Barbecue party night. It's a weekly occasion when the Poseidon Staff pull out all the stops to make it a great night. It all starts with some outstanding barbecue delights which have been specially herbed and spiced along with a salad buffet accompaniment. Following this, the night then begins with songs and dancing plus a few surprises along the way.
hotel was very friendly in a good location ,only downside was shower curtains which stuck to you while showering .
Monday night barbecue night was good entertainment enjoyed by all.
Friendly and helpful staff .
Only downside was with the immigrants by the beach which was a little intimidating for the wife ,and the mess they left wasn't good and could impact on future holidays for many who would otherwise enjoy the island.More

Friendliest place ever!
Have just returned from a fantastic stay at The Poseidon. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and we found all the staff extremely helpful and really friendly (they could not do enough for us) Our room was basic but exceptionally clean and we were given clean towels every day and our bedding was changed every other day. Our apartment overlooked the road which was quite busy but once the doors were closed the noise was not a problem. Our air conditioning was fantastic and the fact that it was free was amazing! The bar was well stocked and the cocktails are a must!! Especially during Happy Hour! The snack bar was reasonably priced with good quality food. (My son especially enjoyed the BBQ burger!) Monday Party Night was great fun- lots of activities for all ages. The pool area was quite small and we had to get up early, by 8.30, to get a sunbed- it was not too much of a problem but not doing this meant we had to go to the beach ( 4 sunbeds for 10 euros which can add up!) The Poseidon is in a fantastic position, close to the town if you want to go shopping but far enough away to not be bothered by the night life. There are lots of little tavernas nearby that serve lovely food at a great price. A few minutes walk takes you to the harbour, marina and lots of restaurants and bars so there is a lot of choice. Overall I would highly recommend The Poseidon and will definitely return in the future.More

A definite must
Having spent 10 nights at The Posiedon I thought I would give my view. We went as a family of 5, 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 OAP, we had 3 separate rooms, all of which were a decent size, plenty of storage space and immaculately clean. Beds were comfortable as were the soft pillows. Air con was a blessing. The girls struggled a little in their shower as it was a tray with a curtain and the bathroom floor kept getting soaked- there was a drain hole in the floor so it wasn't an issue. Mums bathroom was very small and she had an issue with the door opening inwards and having to squeeze through, it may have been better with a sliding door. The balconys are a good size.
The pool is quite small, but I understand you can use the pool next door- we had an issue with people putting towels on the beds then not appearing for hours, this was soon rectified by Nick who moved them. The water is lovely and warm and the atmosphere is good. The snack bar is very reasonably priced and the food is good quality and good selection.
Breakfast was good, continental is included if you are in the hotel, it is the same every day but the bread is very fresh and fresh eggs. I would have loved some fruit to go with the Greek yogurt but thats just me.
The staff are fabulous, everyone you meet are so friendly and the maids appreciate you speaking a little Greek. The staff will do anything to help you have a great holiday. Toula, Ange and Diane treated us like we had known them forever and protected the girls too.
The football season started while we were there and the matches were in in the bar area, good music selection also and Ange accepts requests.
The hotel is away from the main area but only 10-15 minute walk on the flat into the centre, if the heats too much or you don't want to be hot and sweaty a taxi is 6â¬, there are lovely restaurants in the very near vicinity ( across the road) and down some side streets.
Shopping- you have the old part of town and the newer part, some good shops, we found that Pandora was particularly good value.
The castle and Hippocrotes Tree must be seen. The bus service to local towns is easy and cheap to use. Mastahari is a quaint village with an amazing beach. Zia is a mountain village which has magnificent views.
If I came back to Kos I would definitely stay here again and the girls are thinking about coming back for their first girly holiday without grown ups. big thank you to all the staff that made the holiday special.More
Came here after reading all the previous reviews and glad we did. The owners and staff bend over backwards for you and do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay.we arrived at 1am in the morning after a long day.checked in friendly service hired a safe (18 euros) pretty cheap.went to our room put cases in and straight to the bar and sat outside till 2 30 am right nice and peaceful and care free asked what time the bar stayed open and the reply until everyone went to bed.amazing.
The breakfast was a different selection of food such as bread rolls toast cereal yoghurts and juices etc. And the snack bar was open 10-10 everyday where you could grab a toasty omlette full english or burgers (great value for money)
The rooms were basic but adequate with a balcony view and cleaned everyday by the maids . Kos town is about 15 minutes away on foot but on the front there are plenty bars and restaurants. And opposite the hotel there is a supermarket and restaurant with great food. The H2O bar is a must for cocktails very strong but refreshing.
Don't be put off by the migrants with the tents there harmless and don't bother you at all
Overall had a fantastic stay at the hotel and would go back without a doubt. Friendly staff and the nice hotel makes the holiday enjoyable! More

Thanks to the Kappas family (owners) for making our holiday a very enjoyable and memorable one. We were made to feel very welcome and they were extremely approachable which immediately made us feel settled and ready to begin our holiday.
The rooms were nicely kept throughout our stay, cleaned every day with new sheets and towels etc.
The reception bar was a lovely hangout spot to sit and have a rest from the sun on the comfortable chairs. As well as this there was a snack bar open by the pool which was open all day daily which was extremely convenient.
Monday night was without a doubt the best night. It was greek night and the members of staff also took part as well as there being a professional performance. The barbecue after was amazing with cocktails made from scratch.
By far the best holiday I've had in years, lovely people, will definitely be returning.
