Imperial Hotel

This family-run hotel packs in an energetic pool scene, an al fresco bar, and modern rooms. But it’s the location that really shines – the hotel is close to both the beach and historical Kos Town.

This family-run hotel packs in an energetic pool scene, an al fresco bar, and modern rooms. But it’s the location that really shines – the hotel is close to both the beach and historical Kos Town.

The Imperial Town is anchored in the edge-of-town neighbourhood of Lambi. Loungers and bars line the sand and pebble beach – it’s just a 5-minute walk away. Kos Town and its historic harbour comes in at 15 minutes on foot – or longer, if you get distracted by the tavernas, coffee shops, and British bars en route.

A lively pool scene takes centre stage at the hotel, with stripy sunbeds and ultra-bright lilos giving the area a seaside feel. At lunchtime, the pool bar throws together snacks like club sandwiches and milkshakes. Basic breakfasts are laid out in the buffet room – rolls, cereals, cured meats, and cheeses make regular appearances.

Streamlined rooms are stocked with all the essentials, including private balconies and minibars. Décor is minimalist – think neutral-coloured bedspreads and bright wall prints.

Modern Hotel!

We stayed here for one week at the beginning of August, we arrived late at night and were quickly greeted and checked in by a member of staff. The room was very modern, spacious and clean. The bathroom was one of the best bathrooms I have ever experienced whilst staying in a hotel (especially in Greece) due to its recent renovation. Although we never had a pool facing room, and the balcony was quite small, the balcony did have double doors with an additional mosquito net door which was good, especially for when sitting out at night. The pool was small, but nice and there was always plenty of sunbeds to choose from. The hotel bar was cheap for food at lunchtime, however drinks were quite expensive. The air con was 6 euros a night, which is well worth it especially in the hotter months. All safety deposit boxes are located in reception and cost 25 euros per week which I felt was well worth the money. The hotel itself was only a short walk from both the beach and the marina, where many bars and restaurants could be found. Our particular favorite restaurant was Fidelio where they served great Greek food. As check out is 12pm, this makes waiting all day for a 11pm bus to the airport seem very long. However, the hotel offers both towels and a shower room to use on your last day, which is both helpful and ideal. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the Imperial and would recommend it to all! Kos is a beautiful island and we are likely to return!More

"Good value"

We stayed here for two weeks the start of August. I was a little apprehensive as we did not pay a lot for two weeks which was bed and breakfast only. Found the staff very friendly and helpful and we had a second floor room overlooking the pool the room was spacious and cleaned daily. Aircon was 6 euros a night and a safety deposit box for two weeks 20 euros or thereabouts there was free WiFi for the fortnight. There were groups of young people throughout our stay but I have to say there was only one night I was woken by a noisy group but not even sure they were staying at the hotel or just nearby. The only negative was the breakfast it was adequate but just about and the orange juice was more like weak cordial but that was the only complaint. It is located close to the harbour and I would definietly stay here againMore

Let down.

We arrived late on tbe 27th july.only to be told our room wasn't ready and we had to go in a family room.i said we booked this holiday in january which he replied I only work here!next morning we were given our room.the room was very small but modern.we had to pay for air con they gave us a safe for free for the Inconvenience of the room. Finally we could unpack and start our holiday. The first week was awful I couldn't get any sleep due to all the young students knocking doors laughing and screaming. The 2nd week was better. If we came back it would be in september when it would be quiet and cooler but not this hotel. More

Judith H,

A great family run hotel

When we arrived we were told that 3 of the rooms were having plumbing problems and for the first night we had to sleep in the courtesy rooms.the owners were full of apologies and we were given a free drinks and free safety deposit boxes.the next day we were given excellent pool side rooms and free air con,the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.the hotel was in a great location just about a steady 10 minutes walk to the harbour, bars and restaurants.the Greek people are very friendly and kos town a lovely place.well done imperial, thanks for a great stay.More

Perfectly located hotel

We stayed here for two weeks at the end of July. We were happily surprised when we arrived to see how modern and new the bedrooms were. They are all newly refurbished and very spacious. The rooms are cleaned 6 times a week. The beds are comfortable despite having read previous reviews. A great benefit of this hotel is its location - a 5 minute walk when turning left out of the hotel to the beach where there are lots of free sunbeds and taverna's to eat lunch. Turn right, and the town centre is a 5/10minute stroll where there are hundreds of restaurants, cocktail bars and shops. (To give a hint for eating in the town centre, avoid restaurants that directly overlook the harbour as the food here is of a poor quality). The only downside to this hotel is the pool area. The quality of the hotel rooms unfortunately does not match the pool quality - the beds are old, the pool food is average and the pool itself is small and in need of an upgrade. We stayed by the pool only two days of our holiday, and you could get a sunbed at any point in the day. Overall we would stay at this hotel again without a doubt - it is clean, modern, perfectly located and the staff are pleasant. Kos Town is a perfect holiday destination!More
