Pleasant stay at the Imperial

We stayed here the first week in August, we were surprised as the hotel is only rated as a 2*, we believe that it could be rated at a good 3*. Wifi is free, air con is 6€ per day, food in the hotel was reasonably priced, food and cocktails were slightly more pricey than other bars in the area. Overall it was a very good hotel with friendly staff. The pool was clean and there's was no need to wake up early to reserve sunbeds as there was always plenty. The hotel is in a perfect locations with shops and restaurants less than a couple minutes walk away, with a five minute walk into the town and harbour, again the beach was just over five minutes walk. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the maids would clean rooms everyday although towels are not changed everyday ours were changed once or twice within our weeks stay. The only negative points that we would have is that the continental breakfast is poor although a 'full English' could be bought from the pool bar for 6€ so we tended to go for this option instead. The safety deposit boxes were not in rooms they were located in the reception which we did not feel too comfortable with. Also within Kos island there is a lack of English people meaning that there was a small minority of English people staying in the hotel although this did not bother us but may affect others. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel to others :-)!More

Hannah N,

Modern central and Fantastic hotel In Kos town

Hi we have just returned home from this Wonderful Hotel!!. We are a couple in our mid 60s and we found this Hotel to be every thing we wanted. It has apartments attached as well as several different sized rooms to suite all tastes and budgets. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help make our stay as pleasant as possible, they were lovely!!!. Safety deposit boxes are in the reception area for next to lift (very handy) for15 Euros a week. We also got Air conditioning for 6Euros a night but as we arrived early morning we did not have it the first night and the room was cool enough. You pay 50Euros deposit for the week to get the control and when you check out, hand the control back, they take the payment out of that and give you the change. In our case we payed 36Euros for 6 nights which was worth it as it was very HOT!. There is a Very Good Greek Family run Restaurant over the road slightly to the left of the Hotel entrance called Caravan. Hassan and his family have a very varied menu which will suite many people and Hassan is a Fabulous Guy he treated us like Family as he did with every one who entered his place.A very generous loving and caring friendly person we cannot thank him enough. We hired a car and told Hassan of this and he said come round in the morning with your map and I will show you a few lovely places to visit!. Which we did and we had a wonderful day out. Another great Restaurant is Sunburnt Arms a few streets over on the beach front from the front of Hotel. This serves English menu as well as Greek etc etc. and is Fabulous too!!. We would suggest buying a good map of the Island as the maps provided are not so good and the road signs are sometimes a bit confusing but don't let that put you off as we found our way around OK as we had a reverse gear Ha Ha !!. We used M.L Rent A Car on the Next street over from the front of hotel and down to the left (south towards Harbor) on Kanari Street, 35 euros a day with full insurance and a map for a small car which was great. We put 20 euros of fuel in the tank and did over 120 Kilometers all over the Island. Shenanigans is a great bar run by the Delightful Veronica and friendly staff. They occasionally have live music and Barbecues and the atmosphere is wonderful. Veronica is another wonderful Lady from Ireland we love her very genuine person really loving. The location of this Hotel is spot on bars and restaurants within easy reach. The hotel also has a good bar area which does good food at reasonable prices and a nice pool with sunbeds etc. The Harbor is to the right a few hundred yards down and left. The quickest way to the sea front is left out of hotel and up 50 yards and turn right past the Caravan restaurant.Straight on takes you to the sea. Gloria and Jim from Durham UK.More

Excellent Hotel

This is a friendly, family run hotel and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always smiling and happy to help. The breakfast is Continental style and a kettle was supplied for our room when I requested one. The hotel is well kept and clean throughout and rooms cleaned daily. The shower was a double size with proper sliding shower screen and air conditioning is available in the rooms at 6 euros per night. The pool area is immaculate and the pool bar serves a full menu throughout the day as well as drinks. The hotel had everything we needed and we'd definitely recommend it. It is an 8 minute walk to the beach and a few minutes to the nearest bars and restaurants and shops towards the centre of Kos Town. We'd recommend the public bus to the Thermal Spa which worked out at under 7 Euros for both of us return rather than an organised trip, which would have been much more expensive. There's a free bus from the centre of town to the Lido waterpark, which is well worth a visit.More

Absolutely fabulous place

I can't recommend this friendly family run hotel enough. The location is brilliant about 5 minutes stroll to the nearest beach and less than 10 minutes to the harbour. Shops and restaurants are less than a minutes walk but the hotel is on a quiet street so you don't get all the noise from cars and late night revellers. It has a decent pool with plenty of loungers and a bar which is open from morning until the early hours with a kitchen serving food and snacks throughout the day. Breakfast is basic but sufficient: Yogurt, cereals, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, toast, bread rolls, jams, pastries and cakes. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Their kind hospitality really made our holiday and we will definitely return there.More

Very nice

Considering this is classed as a 2* Hotel, I believe this hotel has gone beyond that. The rooms are very modern and up to date as well as being clean. There is a lot of space to put your stuff and suitcases. The bathroom is also very nice with a good shower. One downside I would say that there is not much to offer with the continental breakfast. It is located in Kos town and shops and restaurants are just along the road. There is a pool outside the hotel with a lot of sunbeds. Overall this is a very nice hotel and would definitely come back.More
