Absolutely Amazing Hotel
Myself, my hubby, his sister and her hubby have just returned from a two week stay at the Bahamas Hotel, it was our first time there and we've already booked to go back next year. What a fabulous hotel, we've done big hotels all over the world but this small family run adults only place knocks spots off of all of them. The rooms are basic, but spotlessly clean and totally adequate for what we want on holiday. The continental breakfast was just right, toast, jam, cereals, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and hard boiled eggs all available from 7.30am. The poolside snack bar opens at 10am and if you fancy a full English breakfast the lovely Marie will happily cook you one, we had it one morning and it was delicious and great value for money. The pool is spacious with plenty of sun beds and also very clean, as are the pool side toilets. The lunches that Marie prepares freshly to order were delicious, the choice of food was wonderful, ranging from salads to burgers, sandwiches, toasties, omelettes, chips and a selection of home made Greek dishes. Every day we struggled to decide what to have as every thing we'd had was so tasty, again everything fairly priced. The 10 minute walk into Kos town was flat and pleasant, and once in town we were spoilt for choice with all the many tavernas, every evening meal we had was really good. After we'd eaten we made our way back to the hotel bar for the rest of the evening. This is a small family run hotel who rely on guests using the snack bar during the day and the bar in the evening, and it was our absolute pleasure to give them our custom. Billy and Costas are the two brothers who run this lovely place and they truly are two of the most genuine and lovely people we've ever met. From the moment we checked in they made us welcome and we felt totally at home. They knew us by our first names and always came to see us and make sure everything was ok, when we were in the bar they'd sit with us and have a chat inbetween serving other guests, nothing was ever too much trouble. My sister in law and I like prosecco and once we told them that they made sure there was always plenty of bottles chilling for us, the service they gave us was second to none, they certainly know how to look after their guests. We arrived at their hotel as holiday makers but we left there as their friends. This hotel definitely deserves more stars, I'm what people call a "star snob" and wouldn't usually even look at anything that's less than 4 stars, but after reading the reviews we decided to bite the bullet and give it a go, and we're all so glad we did, it's a proper gem. We sat at the pool bar on our 5th day there and booked to return next year, we've never done anything like that before. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.......give it a go, you really won't be disappointed.More
For the stars and price, this place is amazing! Great location, quiet and a short walk to Kos Town. Very close to shops and supermarket. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Adequate room for clothing etc. Fridge in the room to keep your drinks cool and air con at a small fee. Breakfast is lovely. The yogurt and fresh fruit is delicious! Staff are all amazing. Very friendly. Loved Maria in the poolside bar x Billy and Costas are a credit to their hotel. Mamas olives are to die for! Lovely relaxed atmosphere in the bar and gorgeous cocktails. My favourite being the frozen strawberry daiquiri. Would love to visit again! And I've never visited anywhere twice before!! Well done guys fab hotel!More
Lovely relaxing holiday
We travelled as a family of 6 with 4 of us staying for 11 nights and 2 staying for 7. It was mine and my husbands ideal holiday, quiet and relaxing. I agree with all the other reviews as to how welcoming and friendly Billy, Costas and the rest of the team are. My husbands only very small complaint was with breakfast; it was served from 7:30 but if he wanted boiled eggs, they weren't available until about 8:15 (I did say it was a small complaint!) I think that either the hotel or Thomson should provide a map showing the best route to town including restaurants etc along the way. The travel rep gave us a map but it was very small with hardly any detail. She also told us the way to walk into town but this was along a very badly lit road. There was an easier, quicker route that went past many more shops and bars. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing holiday, it's not for those wanting something more lively.More
We arrived at The Bahamas hotel the day after the earthquake and we're pleased to see everything was good there. We were quickly checked in by Billy on our arrival. The following morning we went down for breakfast which was buffet style. There was a lovely selection to help yourself to. Cereal, meats, cheese, watermelon, boiled eggs, breads, juices, tea, coffee and the lovely Greek yogurt that I was addicted to with honey. The pool area was always kept spotless, I was always first round the pool area and the cleaners worked hard every morning. We found the hotel to be very chilled out and relaxed with the added bonus of no kids😀 The food from the pool bar was always good and served by the lovely Maria. Costas was always so friendly on the bar and called everyone by their name which was nice. We would definitely stay here again, I have recommended it to my friend Deb who has already booked for two weeks next September on her own so please look after her. The only thing I would say and is no fault of the hotel is that bloody Cockrel!!!!!! Take some earplugs 😂Thankyou to everyone at the Bahamas for making us so welcome and making our holiday one to remember xMore
