The Hotel Bahamas comes highly recommended on TripAdvisor. More than 80 per cent of reviewers rate it as excellent and a further 10 per cent rank it as ‘really good’.
The property’s location is one of the secrets to it success. It’s just a ten-minute walk from the centre of Kos Town and all the bars, shops and restaurants. Plus it’s only 25 minutes away from Lambi Beach, which is home to a kilometre of white sand and a good selection of watersports.
Despite being close to town, there’s plenty of outdoor space at the Hotel Bahamas. The grounds play host to a large swimming pool, a spacious sun terrace with lots of sunloungers, and pretty gardens.
The hotel’s food gets a special mention on TripAdvisor. In addition to the continental breakfast, home-made meals are served in the snack bar throughout the day. Plus, there’s a weekly barbecue during the summer.

There's sunbeds with parasols or large shaded wooden area.
There's a large TV to watch that shows some English channels including sport channels, use of the pool table and the bar offers a range of drinks and plenty of seating - it does tend to get lively in the evenings. A Continental breakfast is for those who are staying within the Bed and Breakfast package.
This is where the barbecue evening takes place.

A warm welcome
This hotel is in a great location to explore the island by car or to just wander into Kos town on an evening Billy and Costa's make the most wonderful cocktails as sampled most nights. The pool is in a lovely spot with a little snack bar to keep you going through the day. The rooms are typically Greek, basic and spotless. We will be back!!More

Best Team Bahamas
On arrival we received a warm welcome .We found the room very clean with plenty towels and bedlinen and a spotless shower room and toilet . Continental breakfast was traditional with cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, ham, cheese juice, tea and coffee but service was always on hand should we need any assistance. A larger selection of food was available from Mama and Georges poolside snackbar offering freshly prepared cooked food that we can highly recommend. The pool is a nice size and kept clean with plenty of space and sunbeds around it. Inside the hotel is a well stocked bar and lounge where quality drinks of good measure are served by Billy and Costas + Bllly 2 who always make you feel relaxed and welcome. We can't speak highly enough about this small family ran hotel and its caring, welcoming approach to all who stay at the Bahamas. Hope to be back sometime and wish the family all success for the future. Jean & Barry.More

Excellent holiday in a great atmosphere
This is the first time my wife and I have visited this hotel and I doubt it will be the last. The Bahamas offers an excellent standard of basic Greek style accommodation (no frills). Everywhere is very clean, the room is cleaned daily (except Sundays), bedding and towels changed regularly and the staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast again is typically Greek; bread/toast, jam/honey, water melon, cake, ham (Greek ham is more like Luncheon meet), cheese, yogurt, cereals (Greek brand and a lot like supermarket own brand in the UK), cordial (the orange is not to my taste but the cherry is OK), tea and coffee. All are constantly being replenished and if the staff do miss something just ask and they will refill it. The pool area is clean and there are plenty of sun beds and umbrellas to go round. Pool bar provides good value food and drink throughout the day run by mamma. For the evening the bar is well appointed and Costa and Billy are both excellent hosts. There is also quite a library of paperbacks available for guests to use. You really need a good map to find your way around Kos Town and one I downloaded from the Kos Info website before we travelled was excellent with most of the streets named. The hotel is not where the TA map shows it (they have told TA but it has not been corrected as yet) and is actually slightly to the West (Left) of where it’s shown, roughly where TA has the Diamond Apartments. The hotel is in a semi rural location on the Western edge of Kos town and it’s an easy level walk to almost anywhere in the town itself. Nearest Taverna and supermarket is 5 minutes away and the town centre itself say 15 minutes. To get anywhere, turn right out of the hotel and then go up to the crossroads with the main road. From there you can go straight on and you’ll cross Amerikas , then Kanari (runs from the harbour northwards into the Lambi area and has lots of shops and places to eat and drink) and eventually you’ll hit the beach. Turn Right on either Amerikas or Kanari and you’ll end up at the harbour. Alternatively at the main road turn right and then you have some choices; turn left opposite the garage (Boubolinas) and that will take you straight to the harbour; take the next left after the garage and you’ll come to a nice cake shop on the corner (coffee and a sweet treat always helps), turn left for the harbour or straight on for the beginning of the old town and finally take the second left after the garage and this will lead you into the main shopping area. A good map makes life so much simpler and the ones in the guide books don’t normally have enough of the street names on to make navigation easy. Good places to eat: Hellas (On Amerikas towards the Boubolinas end, look for the plastic chef outside) offers good Geek food – the Stiffado is excellent; Le Strega (Amerikas sliightly further out from the town but nearer the hotel) offers a broader range with the pizzas being a specialty; the Twin Dragon ( backs onto the beach just north of the harbour ) is a really good Chinese offering ocean views; Mamas kitchen (Harbour end of Boubolinas) does an excellent range of Greek dishes but fills up quick so go early and finally a Greek Taverna who’s name escapes me but its opposite Mamas kitchen on the corner with Amerikas which does a great range of Meze type dishes. We didn’t try the more touristy type places which come out high on TA listings but they are in the Lambi area (north of the hotel on Kanari). For trips out we would recommend the Three Isalnd Trip on the Katerina (independaet boat so fewer bus loads of tour parties), lots of walking tours exploring Kos town, a bycle (we reached Tigaki and back and I haven’t been on a bike in 30 years!) and a car or buses to tour the island. A quick mention of our holiday company, Thomson, the rep (Yota) was friendly, helpful and did not force trips down your throat. The flights were on time and transfers good but the legroom on their planes was miniscule and we will try to avoid flying with them again if possible. Finally, just before we were due to travel a few less favourable reviews and comments appeared on TA for the Bahamas and these did worry my wife and I a little. However I can say we found them to be largely unfounded; we always had spare toilet rolls; Billy, Costa, mamma, papa and all the staff were always friendly and helpful and never rude; some of the sun beds and umbrellas have been repaired (we didn’t find any broken) but were perfectly useable; the breakfast was always the same but there was plenty of it, it’s typical for this type of hotel, a Full English was available from the Pool Bar and elsewhere if you want to pay for one; sun bed cushions are E1 per day but you don’t have to have one (there is no pressure); Aircon and safety deposit boxes are at an extra charge (I think E45 a week for the Aircon and E15 for the box for two weeks) again typical for this type of accommodation and cheaper than we will have to pay next year in Rhodes, the fact that these are chargeable is also clearly stated in the brochure; late check outs, can be booked with the hotel (depending on room availability) for E25; finally the cockerel, OK I admit on the couple of occaisions I was awake to hear it, there is at least one cockerel, however it was not an issue and did not wake me or my wife (anyway it was much nicer to hear than traffic or people shouting to each other in the street which you get at hotels in the centre of towns). I think you can avoid the majority of these issues and the like if you read the brochure, understand what you are paying for (and therefore going to get), if there is an issue (like you run out of toilet roll) ask for one and not wait to complain about the lack of one on TA and above all speak to and treat people as you would want to be spoken to and treated, they can hardly be friendly to you if you walk past them without even saying hello. Bottom line we would thoroughly recommend the Bahamas to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in a low key friendly environment. Mamma, papa, Costa, Billy and all the staff – keep up the good work and thanks for a great holiday.More
My husband & i along with my sister & brother in law spent a fantastic week at this hotel, the staff are second to none & made us feel welcome from the moment we steped through the door, we found the rooms spotless & they were cleaned daily except Sundays. The pool area was immaculately kept & the pool bar was good value, we enjoyed Billy & Costas cocktails most evenings . All in all we would not hesitate to revisit this hotel as we had such an enjoyable week here largely due to the friendly service provided by Billy & Costas not forgeting Billy num 2 .More
