Well run hotel

The location of the hotel is just about right easy to access the town shops and restaurants but far enough out to be quite and peaceful. The family and staff are excellent very helpful and polite and nothing is to much trouble making your holiday so relaxing. The rooms I thought were had a very good design as they do not overlook each other and are raised off the ground high enough as passers by car not look in making them very private. We enjoyed days staying by the pool as with no children made it peaceful and mama will make you a nice lunch. Overall Costa, Billy, Mum,Papa and the rest of the staff well done and all the best Try Maria's yogurt yummy We will be back.More

lovely family run hotel

With all the problems kos faced this year we were a bit worried what we were going to find when we got to kos . But any worries we had were soon put to bed when we arrived at the bahamas hotel .. It is a family run hotel and brothers billy and costa do a great job . We arrived at early hours of the morning but were booked in quick and were very happy to find the bar still open costa introduced himself and the other guests made us feel very welcome. A lot of the guests were repeat customers which is always a good sign. the pool area is lovely and the room is what was expected and the hotel bar is well run and a lovely place to chill , the hotel is a short walk to the main town it seems a bit out the way at first but it only take about 15 mins to reach the harbour where you can find plenty of restraunts and shops . The people of kos are very friendly and the family at the bahamas hotel definately made our stay. If you are just looking for a small and friendly place to stay I would recomend this hotel to explore kos .More

traveljunkieMidlands,

Eighth visit in 6 years - can't wait to return

The Bahamas Hotel in Kos is my Greek home away from home. George (Papa), Sula (Mama), Billy and Costas are my Greek family. Visit the Bahamas once and you'll be part of the family as well. The majority of thier clientele are return visitors. Located only a 10 - 15 minute meander to the centre of Kos Town it's an immaculately clean, small, family run hotel. Paradise is jealous.More

Early Closing on Kos

After reading all the wonderful reviews about the hotel perhaps our expectations were on the high side and on that basis we were rather disappointed. We emailed the hotel direct requesting a quiet room and were allocated room 205 right above the bar! We said to Costas we were not very happy about this and were told it would be possible for us to move rooms four days later. As the hotel appeared to be less than half full we decided to stay put but in the height of the season that would have been a big mistake. Music is played in the bar area whether anybody is there or not and there is a constant thud of bass in the bedroom. If people are talking on the bar terrace late at night and the balcony door is open they may as well be in the room with you. The bedroom had been refurbished and was comfortable, had plenty of wardrobe space and a decent sized balcony. The hairdryer was by a mirror in the bedroom so very convenient and the fridge was a good size, silent and stayed on when you went out. There was always a good supply of hot water. The hotel has a very good stock of English novels. Breakfast was the most meagre choice we have ever had on our travels and never varied the whole fortnight. We couldn't drink the awful tasting watered down juice. A full cooked English breakfast is available for 7 euros at the pool bar. The pool was a good size and there are plenty of loungers although you had to pay one euro per day for a mattress which maybe guests were not too happy with. The hotel is well placed and appears quite rural when you walk past the goats and cockerels but it is only a 10 minute walk to two good tavernas (The Caravan and La Strega), 15 minutes to the harbour and around 20 minutes to the bus station. There is a small supermarket 50 yards beyond the hotel for your basic needs. The Carrefour supermarket is about a 5 minute walk. There is a good bakery a 10 minute walk past the petrol station. We enjoyed our holiday but perhaps every first timer should be treated as a possible returner. The migrant crisis in the town has had a devastating effect with many of the hotels and restaurants closing more than two weeks prior to the end of the season. Let's hope that the summer of 2016 will see lots of tourists flooding back to this beautiful island.More
